Featured Replies

So I've noticed a trend over the past 1-2 month's

What is with modeler's putting no pic's in the model's they release for download ( its not every1)  but downloaded couple model's recently go back couple days later and its like whats this car look like again  its annoying

and no not gonna put the model in game just to see what it look's like don't understand on the modeler's part what the big deal is putting pic's in the file to download when they have already put pic's up as wip and on the release page so is it that big of a deal to stick in in the actually download to

Another trend I noticed not as bad as the first but  is when you download the file there is either no credits in the read me file/ or very vague/little credits

  • Not taking the time to open the model in OIV or use proper grammar.

  • I do it mainly for file size.    I try and keep my rars as low in size as possible and adding pics can bring it up quite a bit. It isn't too hard to name a file something specific to jog your memory

  • Instead of just plopping a mod notice: As long as the DL has screenshots, I am fine with it.

Yea mate, totally agree with the both of you, I'm not sure what is going on, but I do hope it comes to an end soon cause I'm no fan

I know what you mean, I don't understand it either! It have to be very hard to copy a few pics into a rar file!

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

Yes, I've noticed this too...but much longer than the last few months.  I have so many cars in my DL folder that have no pics and there is no indication of what they look like.

I too hate it when no pics are included, as I have no idea otherwise what the car looks like.  I've bitched about it before to no avail.

DrDetroit

Also not saying what ELS the car is optimized for. Downloaded a car last night only to find out through comments it was for ELSv6. I mean the car still works with 8 but I wish they could do some simple stuff that would make the process easier. They have the ELS compatible on the side they just need to add the number. ELS v(blah) optimized.

I also agree with the pictures thing. I always just open the picture and save it to the RAR I downloaded. Sucks when you want to switch out cars but forgot how it looks, then you have to search for it again. So I started just downloading the pictures of the car with every car I download now. Something so simple for the uploader to do. You dont want us to remember what your car looks like or even have a link in the Readme? Missing out on faithful people here.

there is still people releasing model's without pic's in the files

maybe a requirement could be added that model's have to have pic's in the actually DL file -- just puttting pic's on the dl page here on lcpdfr shouldn't count  as going back to try and track it down can be a pain in the ass

also as  earlier a few people still aren't putting any credit's in the actually DL file 1 car i downloaded recently only had the car  files and a handling file thats it no pic's or credit's

the file itself,   they put pic's on the upload page but when you down load the file couple days tto week later you forget what it look's like cause there is no ppic's in the file itself

Every file requires an image representing what the file is otherwise it will not be approved.

every  model uploaded to the down load page doesn't have a pic of the model in the actually file,  only on the download page,   its kinda / really annoying trying to figure out what the model look's like couple days to week later

and not every model that you can download from the download section actually even has a credit file in it

Here's 3  file's  of no pic's in file itself  recently uploaded

sorry man but that is not their/our problem.. we all set our files up the way we want to.. sorry that its not convenient enough for you but im afraid the saying goes... "tough titties"   as for the read me issue, i figured it was a must to put one in there i usually have multiple in my files.. 1 for credits and 1 for instruction/notes about the models and telling people about special features..  im not 100% sure but i would report what ever files don't have read me's or any sort of credits in the file.. im fairly sure that breaks the rules on this and many other sites

In my opinion it's sheer laziness. I like to look at a few pictures of the vehicle/ped/whatever, before I click the download button. Even when pictures are supplied, there are often no rear quarter shots of the vehicle.

Cheers.

Seriously, would you like some cheese with that whine?

Anyways, it's not our job to tell you/show you what the mod looks like after you've downloaded it. You saw the pictures on the download section and decided to download it. If you want to see what it looks like, throw it in OpenIV really quick. It's not too difficult/time consuming, and there's certainly no need to start a whole topic over something as silly as your laziness.

Sorry for the double post, just noticed this comment after posting. Phill, I believe you misunderstood his complaint. He is complaining that modders, such as myself, don't provide pictures of the mod in the actual .rar or .zip file you download.

I haven't noticed this... but then again, I haven't downloaded newer models since I still use ELSv6.  Every model that I have has pics.  I guess it's something people take for granted until it's taken away.

I agree with you when it comes to this. In my downloads, I try to upload as many views as possible of my mods.

This is the reason why I haven't uploaded pictures to my downloads in the past. As a solution to this, I also name my files something specific so they can be looked up again. In addition, the download link is included in my mod's description, so you can find your way back to the download page.

I never realized how important this was to some, and I can begin to include screenshots in future downloads (if wanted).

this is just flat out  sheer laziness  not that  hard to put pic's in a file esp since you've taken pic's already
