Going Back to 0.95rc2

Featured Replies

Lcpdfr 1.0 is nothing short of amazing but i the reason why im switching back to Rc2 is because it is alot more stable and is more playable for now. With such a huge release like 1.0 theres gonna be alot of unstability and bugs which are expected but for me at least there was just to many! Nothing about the added radio chatter and and search blips and the "new features" in vehicle pursuits stick out to me. If anything pursuits were more realistic in .95 than 1.0. In a vehicle pursuit it usually ends up with wayyyy to many cars in pursuit and the suspect flipping upside down ontop of a cop car. I dont see how the Ai driving was improved either?! Im not bashing lcpdfr 1.0 im just stating what ive noticed! Ill stick with .95rc2 and VPS callouts because that is an excellent script! But damn did they put alot of work into 1.0 and they deserve credit because it is pretty good..

  • I believe that NB over hyped it in the features video, shoot i just watched it and heard him say "you may even see cops on a traffic stop" uhhh yeah i havent seen one ai cop in a traffic stop have you

  • As soon as I installed 1.0 I have had noting but problems, I like the mod but its nearly unplayable. I'm not going to be downgrading but rather just leaving GTA 4 tell this mod becomes more stable...

Yup, this is going to be an update of many for 1.0. The one thing people have to remember is that they only have so many beta testers to test this mod. Everything may seem fine for when 15 people test it, but when a few thousand do problems can arise pretty fast.

Well, when i installed it on a fresh gta iv install that just has ENB SFE and got the newest programs like c++ 2012 and other, i can play it fine, but i agree whith you that AI driving isn't improoved. For the too many vehicles in the pursuit, you can change it in the LCPDFR.ini folder. I think that i'm going to play LCPDFR 1.0 whith VP callouts when it's compactible whith the new API. And i have to agree whith you that LCPDFR isn't stable, but give it some time, becouse it's just 2 days since release, i think that in a week or so, there is going to be an update to resolve some issues and make LCPDFR more stable.

P.S. sorry for my bad english skills.

I am strongly considering switching back as well.  I'm not having crashing issues very often and the occasional crash is to be expected but for some odd reason I am having absolutely terrible texture loss since installing 1.0.  I almost never had this happen while playing .95.  The new features are awesome but as Delta said, not enough for me to look past the issues that are annoying me most.

Just because you weren't seeing them doesn't mean they don't happen.  The AI driving HAS improved, hell look at traffic stops they actually look for a "safe" place to pull over now instead of stopping in the middle of the road.  Honestly I don't think LCPDFR could be causing your texture loss issues to begin with considering the mod doesn't touch textures.  If you think .95 is more stable more power to you but don't waste everyone's time whining about your issues.  These guys bust their butts to produce this mod for free the least we can do is be patient.

Not to burst your bubble, but yes LCPD:FR 1.0 uses quite a bit more memory meaning people with the "Average" computer will get

texture loss more often than 0.95Rc2

yeah theres no way I can downgrade to rc2 ive been able to really play it today without much crashing and the features are just awesome I like how you can stop traffic when doing a felony stop or accident I am going to suck it up and wait for the updates

I have been thinking about doing that aswell, I will install c++ 2012 and if I crash then I am downgrading (I might start a topic asking how to uninstall) I think that 1.0 should have had more testing and I understand that the community team has been working hard on this great mod but I will use it when it becomes more stable

I haven't had any crashing at all.

Regarding the AI pursuit vehicles, I don't see much improvement from 0.95, they're still very aggressive and extremely dangerous in their decisions. It gets to the point where I would consider terminating the pursuit because the AI cops are making the situation more dangerous for the public than the fleeing driver is.

The rest of 1.0 IMO works flawlessly and is far superior to 0.95. It's small things that matter, like being able to walk your prisoner around and seat them in your vehicle.

I saw a Patrol officer pull over an Emperor, and the guy blasted the cop with the default uzi submachine gun. I was across the street and gave chase. It was pretty cool actually.

Keep in mind that GTAIV has always been, and will continue to be, an absolute bastard when it comes to mods. Even something as simple as installing a car can completely and entirely flip your game on its head, so when it comes to scripting it's even more of a blast to deal with. When it comes to mods that hugely change the game and add a bunch of content, it's worth noting that, as someone stated earlier, a lot changes when you have a few people testing compared to a few thousand. Also consider that everyones PC handles things differently with the game for a variety of different reasons- what may work perfectly fine on my PC, may completely and entirely fry someone elses. I have no doubt that LCPDFR 1.0 has its issues, and that there are quite a few bugs that slipped through testing, but at the same time we should all keep in mind this is a rather large update and bugs were to be expected. Let's just keep faith in the dev team knowing that they'll probably be working like mad to fix the bugs people are reporting, it's just a matter of being patient. Let's keep these things in mind and remember that the testing team isn't that big and they do have lives of their own- unlike large companies LCPDFR testers aren't working 40 hours a week simply testing the script. I'm sure they test it when they can and I'm sure things get missed.

Regardless. I think we should all be thanking the team for the work they do(for free, I might add), and continue to hope they provide us with excellent mods like LCPDFR and continue to improve the script as time goes on. I'm confident that, with enough work and the huge community present here providing them with bug reports and feedback, 1.0 can evolve into something truly extraordinary.

I completely agree I have had all of my crashes with callouts and not lcpdr its self. I feel like it is my installation error. But being able to grab your subject and stop traffic during traffic stops are two features alone that will keep me with 1.0. Besides get to the ini file and change the amount of officers and helps with the texture loss.

Let the good times roll

@delta412

Do you know you can reduce the amount of policecars that are allowed to join pursuit? Setting it to eg. 4 or 5 should help you.

Also, it is quite normal that all that super-duper features will eat some resources. IMO is it worth to reduce level of details to get more interesting and various gameplay. I watched some videos on YT and, compatring to .95, it's a HUGE step forward.

The only thing im having problems with is the Multi-Player, Its unplayable, If your playing with someone else you crash almost immediately.
