Going Back to 0.95rc2

Featured Replies

I won't downgrade. I will crash at some point while I'm playing. But normally that happens after more than 90 minutes. Most of the problems you guys have are either PC related or can be solved by changing your settings. Sure it has its bugs. It's maybe not as stable as RC2. But there's the point. RC2 is the second, updated, stable version of 0.95. Major updates need time. Most games that you pay $60, €60 or £40 for have bugs aswell. Give them some time to sort and straighten everything out and we'll have a really good script.

  • I haven't yet had the chance to play with 1.0 yet, as my computer is dead, but I feel like it's worth chiming in: Keep in mind that GTAIV has always been, and will continue to be, an absolute bastar

  • I believe that NB over hyped it in the features video, shoot i just watched it and heard him say "you may even see cops on a traffic stop" uhhh yeah i havent seen one ai cop in a traffic stop have you

  • As soon as I installed 1.0 I have had noting but problems, I like the mod but its nearly unplayable. I'm not going to be downgrading but rather just leaving GTA 4 tell this mod becomes more stable...

I think the best solution to all this is use 1.0 if you like it and it doesn't crash for you, use RC2 if you still like it and it's more stable for you personally lol.

1.0 is great but crashes too much for the mods I use personally, so I'm just gonna stick with RC2 and BH callouts with police helper.

I will be doing the same thing. 1.0 will be amazing once it is fixed, from what I can see. I know that the G17 Media Staff is working hard to get it fixed. The only thing us as players can do is be supportive, and have patients.

Man, ungrateful, over 2 years everyone wanted the mod & now that it's released your complaining about it, unreal.. i'm sure the devs' know about it, so why continue to complain? they could have waited 2 more years..

We appreciate this general understanding. The mod has indeed been mostly stable for those of us who've been testing it over the last several months, with some minor hiccups along the way. And whoever commented earlier about 15 testers being very different than 15,000 is spot on. Windows releases, as an example, are tested by thousands of people, but it gets released to millions of people when it's finished and all sorts of quirks or problems are discovered because not everybody uses their computer the same way or has the same kind of hardware. This mod, or any mod is really no different. I know that the G17 developers and testers will be working diligently to work out any remaining glitches with the current release of LCPDFR 1.0. All we can ask is that crashing and errors be reported the proper way and with as much detail as possible, and that everyone stand by patiently during that time. If you do indeed find .95 to be more stable, feel free to go ahead and use that for the time being.

But we will need people to report both good and bad feedback on the newest release, and that won't be possible unless people attempt to use it for a significant duration of time.

I never said I was ungrateful, it is just really unstable, to the point of after going on duty I can only play for 10 minutes max before it crashes. I am not the only one experiencing this issue. Many people in my clan are experiencing this issue to the point of we are not allowed to use it in a multiplayer patrols.

My apologies, I kinda jumped the gun when I was skimming through.

Honestly though most people whining about 1.0 not working well with other mods need to remember most of those mods were made around .95.  Now that LCPDFR has its own API and has been completely re-written these mods won't work the same as they did before because LCPDFR has changed.

It's going to depend on the mod(s). Car mods and ELS aren't effected at all.

Hi guys I just wanted to say that I have struggled with 1.0 for the past two days and even downloaded and installed GTA three times which took the P"~#!. Anyway after messing around a bit and uninstalling and re-installing. I have had some luck and have been able to play the new version for a bit, heres what i did and although im an idiot I hope this helps at least one person enjoy the hard work the DEVs have put into this version.

(I previously downloaded GTA IV through the Games for Windows Marketplace)

Open GFWL and if it wont open (Microsoft has closed it) Uninstall it and re-install

uninstall everything GTA/Rockstar related

Download from GFWL again and install and back up(copy) the clean/unmodded file (most likely found in your hard disk drive under GTA4) in a folder on your desktop.

Install LCPDFR 1.0 Follow the automatic install if you wish and you might find like me that even when you run as ADMIN nothing will happpen at all. Install this patch http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200145406-Grand-Theft-Auto-IV-Patch-7-Title-Update-v-1-0-7-0-English-1-0-6-1-Russian-1-0-5-2-Japanese-

and it should work.

I managed to play for about 30mins before it crashed with that annoying SMPA60 error even though I had no cars saved. I think this happened because I somehow still had my old save game still saved even though I deleted everything so I simply created a new game and saved it over my old one. I played for over an hour with no problems so it is worth giving a clean re-install a try if you are desperate to play this version. I have not re-installed ELS or Spark IV yet so cant say if they will cause any problems or not but just wanted to let you guys know that this method worked for me. Hope I helped and sorry if I have confused anyone Its 3.20am and i got work in 4 hours.....Great......HAPPY POLICING!!!
