Rank Progression System

Featured Replies

I don't know if you can save stats through scripts, and load them after. But here's my suggestion about rank progression. Players will start from the lowest rank there is, the more work they done the closer they are getting promoted and unlock new features.

Some people may not like slow progression, sometime they just want to screw around. So I thought the rank progression is only available at hardcore mode.

How to get promoted? Once a player reaches their goals and ready to advance to next rank they can go to any station and walk into the chief's office and stand on a red marker in front of his desk. Player will then receive their new abilities and unlocks, if player has a partner it will not disappear or go away it will still stick with you until you get a new one.

Goals to get promoted:

  • Arrests 5 criminals
  • Fine 2 citizens
  • Call a backup

Rank 2 : Police Officer I

*I may have missed a few things, made some mistakes. It's a lot of reading, I'll fix it if I find any problems.

*There are different skins for every ranks, unfortunately the forum doesn't support puush.me images, so I'll upload them again whenever I can.

Seems like a lot of scripting for not much reward. It would be different if there were missions specific to each grade. Plus this isn't really implementing anything new to the game, just a rank system. Don't get me wrong, it obviously took you a long time to type that and this is just my opinion. I play hardcore mode and I wouldn't want to have to run through ranks just so I can call for a certain kind of backup. Plus at "Rank 1" you have only the police bike being available to players. Not everyone has EFLC so that would be a problem right there. You could already sort of do this whole system without a script. Just add or delete guns, cars, player models with SNT. Overall its not a bad idea, it would just need a lot more features added along with this stuff to make it worthwhile. Stuff that we probably won't see.

Well theres a lot of things to be modified, but this is the general idea of rank progression. Doesn't have to be exactly the same.

LCPDFR is generally designed to be sort of realistic, not arcade-style. This is sort of an arcade-style idea (not that those are bad, just that they don't really fit so well with LCPDFR). Also, about the backup: Calling for FDLC or medical backup is actually essential to certain playstyles (such as if you're using Braveheart's mod). The idea that you'd have to get to a pretty high rank to call SWAT if you're in a shootout (which isn't just a result of LCPDFR missions; it also happens if you fire a single shot in Hove Beach) is sort of ridiculous. Again, pretty arcade-style. There is a mod (PPM) that focuses on the arcade side of things, but that's not really what LCPDFR is about.

The idea with ranking system is more of PPM thing as above said. In real life, every police officers has equal resources available  to do his job and equal powers except using some heavy weaponry if (s)he isn't in special response team. Idea of having ability to make higher fines or so and to get cars is unrealistic.

You dive for cover and yell for backup, only to see a single fat policeman waddle around the corner on foot XD

tinkering in GTA since 2012

True LOL

The idea is good... but I think it would annoy people more than entertain them... l for one would fine it annoying, as i would have to wait to use normal backup and cars.

Yep. It doesn't matter what rank a cop is, or how senior or junior he is; if he calls for help, EVERYONE comes (seriously, I'm pretty sure that NYPD protocol for an "officer in trouble" response consists of at least an entire precinct responding, if not more).

I feel like this is something more towards console gtaiv role-play(where I came from) rather than the gtaiv lcpdfr version of roleplay...

  • 2 weeks later...

i reckon if you join or started your own clan and made that suggestion to them they may want to take the time to script that because that is more roleplay than a mod, there may be some people that might want it so you could talk to them, make new friends and have fun with the scripting. And you could then start recruiting for your clan.

I don't like this, what if a Police Officer I responds to a call and is greeted with exploding vehicles. What is he going to do, dial 911?

  • 8 months later...

when i start the mod , everything is open to me and i am in the highest rank ////// so how i get from the lowest rank agine ????

Sounds like Battlefield's or Call of Duty's needlessly complicated unlock systems. FYI: They don't let cops with arrest powers in the U.S. go without carrying a gun. Not in these parts anyway. Good luck telling a guy with a .44 revolver he's under arrest if all you have is a baton.

so lcpdfr is all about get call outs and pull over vehicles //// so is there any mod i can download to have somethings to play for ////// i thought that there ranks so i can be police officer then swat then captain ....... like that .

As fare as I'm aware, no. Police Pursuit Mod has some sort of a "ranking" system, if you would, but it doesn't directly affect the mod I think.

Please make this, it's just simple to make, please feature this on LCPDFR 1.0

I'm pretty sure this is not so simple to make. He has to make and code several scripts for an idea like this to exist.
