Sawdbuster reacted to MarkyG892 in MarkyGFilms' LSPDFR YouTube Series ThreadMarkyGFilms' LSPDFR YouTube Series Thread
Hey guys! I'm MarkyGFilms, on YouTube. I'm currently running a small YouTube Channel (small as in roughly 800 subscribers), and I've recently started a LSPDFR series. I'm basically looking for new subscribers, friends and feedback (but please, nothing rude)!
Anyways, I love playing LSPDFR and I love to share my videos! Thanks for viewing my thread!

Sawdbuster reacted to Khanage in GTA V Car Textures Megapack [WIP]OPEN TO REQUESTS
Sooo... I've begun development on a mega pack of skins for the GTA V police vehicles. So far, the pack only supports the Vapid Interceptor and Vapid Stanier (more vehicles will be added). The pack will include all the skins that Abraxxas made in his vdh texture pack (these skins will be made by me though), just to reduce the amount of requests (if we ever get there, of course), as I am indeed open to requests, so please do. Screenshots are on their way, but for the moment, tell me what you think. Should I carry on with this? Is it worth it? Is it a good idea? Would you want this? Answers to questions like those are what I'd like to see in your feedback.
CURRENTLY COMPLETED -
Vapid Interceptor
None, as of yet.
Vapid Cruiser
LCPD Auxiliary - Based on NYPD Auxiliary
Gruppe 6 Security - Fictional
FlyUS Aviation Security - Trigion Aviation Security
Acter PD - Newark PD
Los Santos County Sheriff - LA County Sheriff
Declasse Ranger
No UV-mapped model available yet, I myself may make one however.
Screenshots
NEWS -
Screenshots for the first 4 skins have been uploaded. 'FlyUS Aviation Security' skin still needs some work on the rear. Some progress has been temporarily delayed due to other projects related to Zmodeler. More screenshots will be uploaded each month, see my gallery albums for more images. Keep the requests coming people, I've got aaaall day!

Sawdbuster reacted to Reddington in LSPDFR Crashing upon accepting a calloutThe first thing I suggest is removing EnableMPCars.asi. If that doesn't work, I'd temporarily remove all of your Scripts just to see if any might be causing a problem.

Sawdbuster reacted to Trunnell in LSPDFR Crashing upon accepting callsHello. I've recently just started playing LSPDFR. I installed everything correctly ( followed Albo's tutorial ). When LSPDFR loads in game I get a message " you are running a newer version of the game (gtav) and RPH may have compatibility issues. For RPH I have the latest download 057 along with the GTAV version 1180. According to RPH download info it says it will work for version 1180. Should I downgrade ? If so how do I go about doing it?

"We have, a suspect resisting arrest, in...". - Random callout
Tired of these kind of run & gun callouts? Me too. Well, they are fun sometimes, but I wanted to have more police work to do, like finding a suspect matching a description (aka BOLO), conduct investigations, etc.
You may know Repeat Offender, which was made by FinKone. Well, my callout pack will go along those lines also.
As this is my first callout pack, I don't think it'll be as detailed as FinKone's one, but fear not: I'm putting a lot of effort to have something fun and realistic to play with.
Currently ongoing
shoplifting (just started)
Main scenario
A shopkeeper just called the police for a shoplifting attempt. He will transmit all the details he knows about the suspect, and the last seen location (most likely the shop itself). These pieces of information will be golden to find the suspect, since there will be not blips at all. Only a rough search area.
However fear not, if you have some difficulties, you'll be able to send a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) to a nearby officer, so that he'll help you finding the criminal.
Once you find someone matching the description, you'll have to conduct your investigation, frisk him, or whatever else you need to do to make a stronger case against him. Maybe he's also just someone looking like the suspect.
You'll have to find out. But be careful, the suspect may be aggressive and/or armed.
API integration
I am planning to "integrate" the following plugins, so that the callouts have a more realistic feeling:
- LSPDFR Computer+
- Search Warrant (for the frisking part)
- Traffic Policer for possible alcohol/drug tests
- Maybe VocalDispatch
Last words
For now, there's only one callout, but I will most likely add new ones in the future. Feel free to voice your ideas or what you want to see as well :)

Sawdbuster got a reaction fromDeactivated Memberin Multiplayer Models for BackupHey guys,
I'm not a scripter and I have been wondering how I could contribute something of use to the forums. I've been working on getting the Rockstar varient of the MP LSPD uniform, (NOT Emergency Uniform Enhancement models), to show up as back up in Los Santos Along with the regular LSPD Officers. I have gotten the basics down, but have hit a few snags.
Snag 1) Officers spawn with the dunce cap. I am not sure how to remove this issue because the backup.xml file does not state anything about headgear other than a helmet.
Snag 2) Officers have bullet proof vests on in the cruisers
But, for the most part, (with one or two exceptions), the vests despawn when the officers are on foot. (Notice the passenger of this unit) Then the vests will respawn while the officers are getting back in their cars.
Snag 3) Officers have green hair. I expected this, I am aware there is a way to select textures in the backup.xml, but I couldn't find a proper way to implement it, if anybody knows, that would be very, very helpful. This would also be the key to adding color to the external bullet proof vests which could be used for Local SWAT Units.
Below you see the stage I currently got to with the backup.xml
<VehicleSet> <Vehicles> <Vehicle>police2</Vehicle> </Vehicles> <Peds> <Ped comp_shirtoverlay="56" comp_accessories="59" comp_pants="36" comp_hair="2" prop_head="1" comp_shoes="25">mp_m_freemode_01</Ped> </Peds> <NumPeds min="1" max="2" /> </VehicleSet> While this isn't a complex issue, I figured I try to go through the tedious work of diversifying the LSPD. Then, hopefully by the time Realism Enhanced Dispatch v3 is released, I could have this down enough to diversify multiple agencies with the EUP mod. For the mean time, all I plan to implement is LSPD patrol officers, (male/female), and LSPD Local SWAT Units, (hopefully male/female).
[This is the cruiser in case anybody didn't know]

Sawdbuster reacted to l3ubba in A Law Enforcement CareerYou don't need a degree but it is strongly recommended you have one. You are in the exact same situation I was in when I was 19. I was in college working towards my bachelors degree and I dropped out because I didn't really enjoy school and just wanted to jump straight into law enforcement. I went to the police academy and graduated with no problems. I started applying to agencies and kept getting turned down due to "lack of [life] experience". Most applicants now days have at least an associates degree or higher and most agencies, even though their minimum requirement might say 19 or 20 years old, are looking for people who are at least in their mid-20s because how is a 19 year old going to deal with a 30 or 40 year old person who is going through a crisis? No amount of training can replace life experience. I'm not saying that they won't hire 19 year olds but it is becoming less and less common due to the scrutiny placed on LEOs now. The younger you are the more of a liability you are.
My advice, finish your degree then apply. Trust me, I was there and I know how much it sucks to have to wait to start a career you know you will love but it will pay off enormously in the end.

Guys.... Guys.
It is NOT chrome. It is black. What you're seeing is a picture of a black car ran through filters/HDR processing. Whoever posted this likely did that to make the ghost graphics more evident. Why do you think the wheels look so funky?
You want proof? Of course you do!
Below is the original picture, before edits. I'll attach the link to an Imgur album with more pics as well. Carry on!

Finally someone who can use some sense.
Also the unedited picture looks just as good, if not better.

Sawdbuster got a reaction from HBengtson in I've Noticed a Few Issues...I suddenlly feel better about posting my shitty impala texture in the gallery.
I also agree. Forum.Emergency-Planet.com is going through many of the same issues, but that has lead to almost a complete standstill with modding and I do not want to see that here. While I think crediting is important, I don't think it is for the users to take into their own hands. If somebody stole your stuff, report it and let the mod staff handle it. If you really want to do something, lock your models. When it comes down it with textures, it kinda sucks to suck. I'm guilty of it, although I haven't released any textures. But seeing comments in the gallary over customized or edited skins that are for personal use, that is too far and that is immature.

Sawdbuster reacted to ineseri in I've Noticed a Few Issues...Thank you for your feedback. Most of this is already covered by our Community Guidelines and I can understand a lot of your frustration, of course. Crediting however is quite important. If someone has uploaded something that you made, and you don't want this file to remain up, you can report it. Sending a PM to someone to take it down is not something we encourage, even if it is your own file. We moderators gladly handle any such dispute. We're here to help. If you're unsure what is covered by the Community Guidelines, look no further than here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/guideline-hub/

Sawdbuster reacted to HBengtson in I've Noticed a Few Issues...Before we get started here, I just want to point out that I am NOT a staff member, nor am I trying to act like I am. I'm just a LSPDFR community member giving his opinion.
So a few months ago, I posted an article that I wrote titled "Please take the time to read this". In it, I discussed how a lot of people can be a bit "selfish" on here and that LSPDFR was lacking in the community values department. I will say, I've noticed a positive change. But I'm not here to praise said change. At least not in this article.
The focus of this article is on some of the "stuff" going on here lately that I don't exactly think is making this place better. So buckle up and enjoy this rant.
The first (and WORST) thing I have noticed in the community is that everyone flips out when someone else isn't credited, or someone converts a car or part without permission, or a texture is edited without permission, etc. In all honesty, it's immature. LSPDFR is a mod for a video game. This isn't a corporate world (at least it shouldn't be). Selling mods is ridiculous. Paying for mods is arguably worse, especially when you get mad after people criticize your decision. Posting pictures in the gallery of that model you just bought makes you a loser braggart (isn't there a rule against this?). And finally, complaining about someone not crediting or editing something you made is childish. I'll admit, I have sent people messages because they've edited textures I've made. And I regret doing that. The guy clearly wasn't the best at editing textures, and I probably crushed his hopes and dreams by asking for him to taking it down. From this point on, I encourage people to use and edit my work as they see fit. Seriously, feel free to edit my stuff and use it.
Now, the above isn't necessarily okay to do. If you release it, it's actually pretty illegal, unless you have permission. I'm not saying that it's alright to take people's stuff and reuse it. Credits are pretty important, too. All I'm saying is that if you make and release something, especially a DEV part, don't be the plagiarism police. Sometimes, it's good to give and not ask for anything in return.
Back to the gist. We (mod makers) often forget that we are making stuff for a video game. More often, we forget the reason we are taking the time to make mods. I have two reasons: to improve the game for myself, and to improve the game for someone else. It's selfish and selfless. I think there's a good balance present. Like everyone else that uploads a mod, I hope that it's popular. However, I try not to check to see how many downloads I've gotten every 10 minutes. That's a bit over the top if you ask me. If people like it, great! If not, I'll try again in a few weeks. If someone does better than me, I don't attack their file with poor reviews and picky comments. I download that $#*% and try it myself!
Now lets say I upload a file and it's popular. Then I see in the gallery that someone has edited it and is showing off their creation. Should I say something? If it's not positive, then now. Let it be. If they upload without permission, I may send them a short PM, but that's really it. I'm not losing sleep over a glorified PNG. And neither should anyone else. These wars that I have seen in comment sections are pathetic. People need to get over themselves. If that happens, I bet we'll see a friendlier community.
So I'm going to wrap this up with some tips for members, whether you are an uploader or not. If you consider using these, thanks. If not, whatever.
Be nice to everyone. If someone sends you a PM/comments with a question, at least point them toward the answer if you don't want to tell them directly. Upload for the benefit of others, not for the benefit of yourself. Don't be the guy who stops someone from giving to the community (no matter how rubbish their file is). Help others with constructive criticism and reviews. Don't say something like "nice try lol". If you have talents, use them. Stand up for other members. Pay attention to the rules and guidelines. Don't brag. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. If as little as a quarter of the community stays by half of these, there will be visible improvement.
I just want to thank you for reading. I hope I've given you a new perspective.

Sawdbuster got a reaction from LCSO Sergeant Jester in A Law Enforcement CareerI know officers who have done the same thing, but not since the 1990s. Everybody since has a degree or extensive military experience. But 450+ ppl applied for 5 positions with my hometown PD, 2 years ago. Everybody who got hired had a 4 year degree, 2 had previous law enforcement experience, the requirements are only getting more and more rigorous as time goes on.
