  1. Being cynical. So I suppose that would entail a little bit of both.
  2. Slimory you said yourself that he was driving and ridiculously high speeds. There's a huge difference between speeding and operating to endanger, and the latter of the two would be a perfect description of what Officer Lopez was doing. No emergency lights and being off duty won't help his case. And what Ridgerunner said was probably the first thing that came to my mind: Check with the dispatcher to see if that cruiser should be out on the road or not and if so, who's driving it. Based on the situation, yeah I do think getting the person out at gunpoint is justifiable. What Officer Lopez did was a felony. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you wear a badge or not. Everyone is a civilian. Nobody is above the law. That also being said, situations like this would make me uneasy, and I'd pray not to run into something like this. This in my opinion would carry more risk for deadly trouble percentage wise than any other normal traffic stop. Gun vs. gun is a no win situation.

  5. "The link you requested is not valid." -4Shared.com Looks like the link's broken now. lol So much for that car.

  7. AMD said in a press statement a few months ago that they don't consider themselves competitive with Intel anymore and that it's not their main target. Currently AMD's focus is shifted towards getting an actual graphics card on the CPU die (a noble idea which will be good for tablets and phones, but AMD won't be ready for those devices for at least another year or two which is faaaaaaaarrrrrrrr too late to enter the mobile business), rather than directly battling Intel for supremacy. AMD hasn't had CPU supremacy since the early 2000's, and never had it at all before that. I think a lot of people are disappointed with the Bulldozer CPUs because they had high expectations that they were a response to the Core i7's, and they just weren't. The old Phenom II chips even beat them in some benchmark tests. AMD is taking a different design approach which they are attempting to go for a real APU while at the same time trying to squeeze in as many cores as possible so they don't have to have completely different production runs for business CPUs and home CPUs, that way they can cut production costs. (Note that their first 6 core CPU was 'Istanbul', a server processor, the new 6 core home CPUs didn't see the light of day for months and months after.) Unfortunately, neither of these two things translate to any sort of real benefit in a video game, or a modern day CAD program. Intel Core i7 CPUS have always kicked the hell out of AMD's in business applications, but the Phenoms were competitive in gaming, for less money. So AMD had the value card to play. Now that Intels have surpassed AMD chips in gaming, and AMD more or less refused to answer back with a competitive architecture, there is no more argument. AMD is not a competitive gaming CPU choice any longer. This statement by the way, is coming from someone who had an Athlon XP 2800+ based PC in 2003, and is currently typing this message on an Phenom II X4 955BE machine that I built in 2009. I had AMD chips at those points because they were the best for the money. There is no AMD processor I'd rather pick than an Intel for a laptop or desktop as of this writing. And to be honest I don't think Steamroller (the successor to Bulldozer) is going to cut it either. They need another re-design. And since AMD separated themselves from Global Foundries (their former chip manufacturing plant) and don't have anywhere near the amount of money needed to design an entirely new chip and then send it into mass production, it's not going to happen any time in the near future. Let's also not forget that AMD has nVidia to worry about, who they are also now losing to on the graphics battlefield. At least on the graphics end of things AMD is keeping pace. But they're struggling, and one big misstep will be all it takes to topple AMD over for good.
  8. You'd need to specify what model of Radeon graphics it is. Radeon is just a brand, it doesn't mean anything. It's like saying you have an HP computer. From there, we can determine if 220 watts is enough to power it (it's 99% likely it won't be). I can definitely tell you that even if you got an awesome graphics card, your CPU is going to bottleneck your performance. A Pentium is a business class processor, it's not designed for gaming.
  9. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Proper computer programming should never return errors, but this isn't a commercial grade software we're dealing with here. It's a mod developed by a few dedicated semi-professional programmers in their spare time, who cannot test their work on several computer configurations. We're the guinea pigs, and these error logs can teach them what to change or improve for each new build. That's where we testers come in. But going back to my original answer, if it's not actually interfering with your game play experience, don't worry about it.
  10. It's an SUV, it's not supposed to. I dunno if you're old enough to drive or not, but if you aren't, you're in for a rude awakening when you start handling vehicles. I went from a Hyundai Tiburon to a Chevy Trailblazer (occasionally used as a police SUV) and it was a big change. I really wish somebody would make one of those. Would feel like I'm driving my own truck.
  11. We formed a democracy instead of a monarchy or a dictatorship, but kept the same naive old men running it. I don't like those alternatives much better, by the way. I think they all suck, but I also believe we do need a working government to keep some things under control. I dunno. I'll leave it at that.
  12. Doesn't belong here. Media or mod section. Move this please.
  13. That's what you get for not wearing your bullet proof vest.
  14. Perhaps the architecture of the (formerly) newest i5 lineup isn't being taken advantage of. Some components have different priorities as time goes on depending on software of the day. I remember playing a game called Deus Ex (the original one, not Human Revolution) and for multiplayer servers, in later years we found out that the game calls for older CPU instructions like MMX, 3DNOW, etc and actually performs worse with a Core 2 Duo or Quad than a single core Pentium IV or sometimes even a Pentium III. I'm sure other things like drivers factor into it too, but when people first complained about GTA IV's performance on PC, the developers said that the highest graphics settings were intended for "future hardware", which is more or less a cover for them doing a horrible job porting over a less than Crysis-like game engine and having it perform worse than said game on medium settings. Quite frankly I don't know if GTA IV will ever work "properly" on any hardware config. The processor and GPU can definitely bottleneck each other, although I don't know for certain if that's whats happening here. The bottom line here is that your hardware is good, but GTA IV hasn't reached the bottom of its barrel yet while scraping around for more PC hardware to gobble up.
  15. That is the default lighting pattern... you can change the pattern by hitting U or I.
  16. Yeah one news site I read said almost the exact same thing. As far as party opposition goes, unfortunately that's a big part of why Obama's presidency has been less than outstanding. Too many Republicans getting in the way of a Democrat president.
  17. ***BREAKING NEWS*** CISPA PASSED. http://www.techdirt....en-passed.shtml The vote was moved up by one day without any warning and some changes were made that actually make it worse. And it passed. Obama threatened to veto it the other day, but somehow I doubt he will. About 86% of Republicans voted yes, only about 25% of Democrats voted yes. *Edit* Sorry to double post, but this wouldn't get bumped up properly without it, and this is serious stuff.

I can only speculate but I'm amusing that also had something to do with my inclusion coupled with heavy forum activity. And FYI we testers don't really sign an NDA, but we usually have a good sense of giving out information on a need to know basis.
  20. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  21. Reminds me of this:
  22. That's like asking a McDonalds district manager what his favorite Wendy's value meal is.
  23. If you can find one for 3-5k, just spend 1.5-2k to replace the transmission. That would be the largest of my worries as its the most expensive thing to replace. That gives the vehicle a new lease on life.
  24. Reading this topic title I literally thought he was going to refer to some band called Grand Theft Auto which I had never heard of. I'm slightly disappointed.
  25. Marine: The dissapearing texture issue is just a general GTA IV problem due to high poly count cars. I have a GeForce 570, and I had two Radeon 4890's before that and they both had the same issue. limar: As usual, that computer isn't "awesome". It's mediocre, and that video card is going to perform poorly. It can probably run the game with the lowest graphics settings.
