  1. RC3

unr3al replied to Chip.'s topic in Discussion
It's using the GTA V engine, so probably not that different. And as always, RC3 is done when it's done. That's the only way quality control will be preserved.
  2. This isn't the right section for this topic, and please edit your posts instead of stacking new replies.
  3. Open up the side door of your case and read what the total max wattage is on the sticker of the power supply. The 6450 isn't really a retail card. It's a half-assed GPU companies like Dell and HP put into computers so it "technically" has dedicated graphics. They just want it to be a feature on the product fact tag.
  4. They're the same chip, they just bumped the clock speed. Like I said, it's okay. But I wouldn't buy one at this point.
  5. Looks pretty good, but the lighting pattern onr the car is supposed to be all blue. Do you have a link for the skin and know who made it?
  6. Pretty much all of New York is, actually. lol
  7. I have a Phenom II X4 955BE. It's okay. It was great in 2009, but now all the i7's and even some i5's leave it in the dust, and the clock speed is getting low by todays standards. What the OP posted though was actually a Phenom I.
  8. Any North American players here? I play whenever I don't have work obligations or whenever I'm not in the mood for LCPD:FR. I also have a 32-man Conquest server with Karkand and Close Quarters maps installed, and a 32-man Mumble to go with it. I run a clan called |.red cell.|. You should be able to look it up on Battlelog. Message me here or in Battlelog if you would like to join in. We require a headset/mic to play with us. All of that junk aside, how does everyone like it? I think it's the best shooter I've played in a long time. I have Modern Warfare 3, but I far prefer this. It's more diverse, doesn't really let you be a one man army, and the latest expansion has a Call of Duty feel to it since the maps are small and there are no vehicles available to use. Here are a few score screenshots of somewhat recent games on my favorite maps: That last one was for fun. :whistling:
  9. Also there are just general popularity issues that led to the moving of the car to 'fleet' status which in part caused its demise. The large body sedans aren't as attractive anymore for general use, they get poor gas mileage (although I'm sure Ford could have fixed that if they tried) and they're not really all that attractive unless you're old and can't afford a Cadillac with your retirement money, or you have a hard on for cop cars like some of us do. Power definitely wasn't the issue. As far as the Boston/Massachusetts skins go, I think I have a beta version that someone was making saved on my hard drive, I'll have to look for it. When I downloaded it and looked in, the textures were low quality, but the colors were spot on. If I put in the time I could probably fix them and re-release them with higher quality badges & insignias. And before anybody is going to say something about the lights that the Boston P.D. uses: I live 20 minutes away from Boston now, and depending on the age of the cruisers, they might have LED's, the might have halogens, they might have a combo of both. Boston is a big city, and while they have reasonably good funding, it has to go to a lot of places, so the police force will recycle and improvise with their cruisers if it can buy them a few more years. The pack I have has both Massachusetts State Police and Boston P.D. I'll edit this post with the link if I find it, give me a few minutes. *EDIT* Turns out I have two .RAR files. One of them is a mixture of State and City. Textures are okay quality, colors are way off (Boston PD is too bright, State colors are completely wrong). The second is the other one I was thinking of, with horrible textures. I can link both of them, but I apparently have to make a MediaFire account. I am uploading these files "as-is". If there are no credits or junk in them, I don't care. Not my responsibility because I didn't originally distribute them. The textures are also representations of legitimate police departments and are not intellectual property that anybody created from scratch, so don't harrass me about any of that crap. Boston Multi-Pack: http://www.mediafire...1jph7hqc1l8hkv8 MA State Pack: http://www.mediafire...uns87430qtkgwis Also, glad to meet you 'GameOverYouSuck'. Shame about the Celtics getting knocked out of the finals and such.
  10. Wrong section, man. Read the forum descriptions. There's a big section with the word 'mod' in it.
  11. There are certain spots in Liberty City where people run red lights all the time (usually because of a glitch, but it still counts) like outside the Dukes police station on the first island, once in a while you will see a person who ignores traffic laws altogether, and 9 times out of 10, then will run when you blue light them and hit shift. I don't know if this is an anomaly or if it's part of LCPD:FR but its infrequent. Other than that, check the highway for speeders, look at people who have a "hard time" moving around parked cars (jerk the wheel really violently), look at people who hit others bumpers, people who turn right from a left turn only lane, who ignore stop signs that happen to be sitting at green lights (you still have to stop even if the light is green before you proceed) etc. You just have to drive around the maps and learn where trouble areas are and you'll find plenty of legit reasons to pull people over, and almost all of them are due to stupid AI, not the actual LCPD:FR mod. Knowing the actual US traffic laws is a huge help. Even if you aren't a police officer, having a drivers license teaches you most of these things.
  12. He said 'standing up', not 'getting erect', but I like your enthusiasm.
  13. Can you also post these in the correct section and not make several of these? There's a big forum section with the word 'mod' in it. Should be easy to spot, and you can edit your posts or make replies to put all of your dream cars in one thread.
  14. Good man providing that link. The ones without the light bars are always the hardest to come buy. Just put a black skin over it, and you'll have (basically) a duplicate, Grant Matos.
  15. Use HWCompare.com to compare graphics cards. Also that computer of yours sounds a lot like a vanilla Dell Studio desktop that Best Buy sells on their website. In which case, you'll also likely have to upgrade the power supply along with your graphics card, due to insufficient wattage to run a "significant" dedicated graphics card. Retail machines generally come with a power supply only large enough to run what comes in the PC. The cards you're looking at need about 450W minimum. Most store bought PCs have between 135W-300W PSUs.
  16. 1.) We have a thread for PC building help. It's stickied at the top of this forum. Please use that. 2.) Don't waste your money on a Phenom from 5 years ago. And how would stepping down your clock speed possibly help you? Simple math, man. Can a mod please close this?

  18. Good template, but those parts are out of date already. I do however like the description of each system, and the bottom line pricing of each "type" of gaming desktop actually doesn't change much. Builds that were $1600 6 years ago could handle things at max settings, and so can builds at $1600 today.
  19. There's a difference between today's games and tomorrows games. I think anybody who doesn't take the future into consideration when building a new PC is out of their mind. Games today are only coded to make use of 3-4 cores because that's all that exists on most retail store shelves today. However, I'm starting to see some 6-core machines pop up at stores like Staples and Best Buy, which is a sure sign that more are on their way. Future games will take advantage of more cores. My Core 2 Duo e6700 was great in 2006, and by 2007 the Core 2 Quads had a huge advantage over me. Everything will get obsolete eventually, and if you plan on hanging onto your hardware for a few years at a time, you better make it count unless you like spending money frequently. Furthermore, if you're building a gaming machine, there's no such thing as "need". Everything is a luxury. It all depends on how much you want to pamper yourself.
  20. It's probably going to depend on placement. I had two "nose lights" that were probably half the size of a dime mounted around where my windshield wiper fluid dispensers were. I don't think those can be mistaken for emergency lights.

  22. Police can use any. Red & blue were the most common patterns because they'd offer two distinct flashing colors so you wouldn't get too used to a solid red, which could be mistaken for a traffic light. Now police and emergency vehicles add in other colors like white and yellow, and may use them for hazard lights too. Today, a lot of towns are streamlining their emergency lights to reflect who's coming up behind you. Blue = police, red = fire/ems. Yellow can be used by all as a supplement to the primary light. Security can use green, but a lot of security companies across the U.S. are using yellow because some green lights look too much like blue lights. The laws differ in each state, but in the area of the U.S. I live in: decorative lights on your car (underglow, LED's, etc) cannot match that of an emergency color. No blue, no red. States like California however allow blue & red underglow and LED's. Just not strobes or flashing lights of that color.
  23. Pretty poor. It's also a slim tower so if you get something crappy (which that is, by gaming standards), you can't upgrade it, ever. Look into a company like iBuyPower. http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/LAN_Warrior_II_-_AMD That would work fine for a starter machine.
  24. I've seen that car around, actually. I live pretty near Lowell, MA now. Not exactly my favorite town. Anyway towns like Lowell, Lawrence, Lynn, Revere, etc could all use this new equipment to their advantage, and hopefully help clean up the streets. These towns have really transformed over the last 30 years from what I hear.
