  1. I sincerely hope they make another version, as the two big complains I have are random chance lights working or not working on NPC police vehicles and of course, the fairly frequent crashes. Restarting the game is a chore considering how long it takes to load and then go through driving Roman to his apartment each time.
  2. Agreed. Talking may bore some people, but I think dialogue really immerses you in the role. A DUI stop would be fun I think. You: Officer Sullivan, Liberty City Police Department. Do you have any idea why I stopped you this evening?" *Option menu* You: You've been stopped for reckless driving. Can I see your license, registration and proof of insurance please?" *Current suspect info* You: Have you had anything to drink this evening? *Driver: Yes/No (50/50 chance) - (In this case, yes.)* You: Step out of the vehicle please *Some sort of new key command performing a quick DUI test, with the suspect facing the officer.* They can either refuse the test and run or comply and maybe it could be a 50/50 chance if they're drunk or not.
  3. Very good thought. To tie into it, I'd like to see a "Why'd you run?" dialogue when you catch them, and they might say "I don't wanna go back to jail" or something like that. If you can't tell, I'm a big COPS fan. Maybe a DUI system would be nice to. "Have you had anything to drink this evening?" If possible, I think custom voice overs would do a lot for this game if there was a way to insert them.
  4. I see. I'm guessing they don't make their source code available like your team does? That's a shame. Do they have a website? I'm unable to find one via Google searching.
  5. Considering how popular ELS and this mod is, wouldn't this be a well known issue with a possible fix? I'm not aware of an ELS mod newer than 6, and I couldn't find a website for it. Does the dev team have any idea what causes it and any possible fixes for it?
  6. *Bump* I apologize for the double post, but I'm aching to know if crashing this often is common using LCPDFR and ELS with custom cars. It will happen at least once or twice each hour. It seems everyone else uses this combo and I don't happen to see other recent posts about this issue. It very commonly happens when I call for backup.
  7. I have the latest the 1.0.7.0 or whatever it is. Sometimes I notice also that when I arrest suspects that instead of taking them away in a car, they shoot them to death instead. It's very rare that they shoot at me, but it happens. The crashes I notice seem to happen on armed robber calls when Im in pursuit. The one minute ago it happened even when I wasn't calling for backup.
  8. Hello again guys. Got the core mod working and it's pretty nice. So now I'm trying to incorporate some of the other things you guys use in your own gameplay, like ELS and different vehicle models/skins. I started off by installing a Chevy Tahoe police car and ELS V6. The mod seems to work pretty well, but it made my game have almost nothing but taxis and low riders for civilian cars. So I took the recommendation on these forums and downloaded a traffic mod. That worked like a charm, but occasionally I get crashes. So far its been about every 20 minutes (only two crashes so far). This particular one happened when I was responding to a armed robbery call, and I tried to hit ALT&B for backup as I was about to ram the suspects car. The game froze, then crashed. If you need any other details, I'll provide them as best I can. No complaints otherwise, because I'm having fun with all of this when it works, just want to try and iron out the kinks. Great job so far guys. Thanks. *EDIT* Crashing still occurs, seems to be during pursuits if I call backup sometimes. Lights on the AI police cars are lit only sometimes, the traffic filter works most of the time, not all of the time, a re-start of your LCPDFR mod actually fixes it. I also noticed a nasty little bug where the AI police officer sometimes shoot at me after a suspect is arrested or killed. Either one can trigger it. Lots of weird stuff going on, huh? lol
  9. Well aren't a couple of the bridges close at the immediate beginning of the game? Also every time I start up GTA IV, if I want to play the LCPDFR mod, I have to take Roman to his house every single time. True it only takes a few minutes, but I hate it. I'd like to be able to load a save point where it's already done. Thanks for the help everyone.
  10. My apologies. I believe the latest version. The installer says .90a. *EDIT* I see this site has version .91. I'll overwrite my old install with this one and see if it fixes it. Be back soon. *EDIT #2* Okay, it seems to be working now, but because I'm forced to go to the beginning of the game, I can't save my progress and I don't know where there are any pay and spray shops to fix up my car after a pursuit. Any suggestions on that?
  11. I re-installed the scripthook files in another link on this forum, and now it gives me the message "error in script number no.n3.t17" instead. The diagnostic report says the same thing as before, that it's "out of date" and says that my "system/installation" is not supported.
  12. I still get the same script error. Furthermore, now Windows Live tells me that I need to sign in to save games (just an hour ago I had several save games and I didn't need to sign in to play offline). So, no that didn't work.
  13. Hello everyone. First timer using GTA IV mods here (I used them back on GTA III but that was a very different game). Short of that video that was taken down in one of the other forum sections, I haven't found any real straight forward guidance as far as getting this mod installed, so I have tried my best on my own Here's the deal so far: I've read the "read this first" topic in this forum, and I've made sure to the best of my abilities that all my files are updated and installed in the right directories. I also used the diagnostic tool. However, the error report says in a nutshell that my ScriptHook files are out of date, but I used links both from here and some of the 'readme' files off of the various RAR and ZIP files I've had to download to see what the latest version is, and I appear to have it up to date. When I launch the actual game, up in the top left corner it says something to the effect of "error in script number no.n3.t13". My system specs are: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955BE RAM: 6GB DDR3 OCZ Reaper GPU: PNY XLR8 nVidia GeForce 570GTX MOBO: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit During the error report, everything passes except for the script hook files. My error log if anyone is interested is located here for download: http://www.mediafire.com/?9f9ti1uctk525yl Beyond that, once I get everything running, is there anything else I have to do aside from hitting ALT + P to kick things off? Is that literally it? Thank you in advance.
