I hear that a lot, and it's probably a case by case scenario like with anything else. Then again they do have to sit in a ditch under a bridge all day and watch for 18-wheelers that block the passing lanes or anybody pushing their speed over 75 (which is pretty much anyone around here).

Not in well settled parts of America. A basic Comcast connection gives 12mbps, an average customer (who has more than a basic cable package) gets 16mbps from them, a business connection is 100mbps (which I'm sure several of you with the 100mbps performance have and should be counted out of the runnings too). Verizon FiOS will give you between 10-35mbps for what's considered a "standard" connection, above 100mbps for a business connection, Verizon DSL can be between 1-3mbps around here, and I don't think I even have to talk about dial up. All that being said, America is around rank #35 on the list for "fastest internet for the dollar". South Korea holds the top spot. I think they pay around the equivalent of about $30 per month for twice the speed of an average Comcast connection. A lot of European countries have also recently re-done their internet backbones. The US's backbone is lackluster by this point because it's the oldest, first starting in 1984. President Obama had an overhaul of our backbone on his "to-do" list, but he's been sidetracked, to say the least. Regardless, gaming and steaming movies will work without a hitch around the 3mbps+ mark, so the rest of you shouldn't worry too much.

No such thing. There's "discrete", meaning that it has its own memory. But it's not a physical card plugged into a PCI Express slot that you can simply swap out. Laptops don't work that way.

Two of those games are unfinished, so Saints Row is really the only choice. Unless you're going to only have literally $50 to spend for the next half year.

I don't think the mod will creative any install challenges if you just follow the written steps. YouTube videos will help with the rest if there's anything lacking. Just make sure to back up the files you're going to edit before you actually edit them.

That laptop you linked doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Native clock speed is too low, and it can only hit around the 2.3ghz mark if you use one core, which will again push it out of the requirements list.

Probably, or somebody who's trying to scare you into thinking they're a police officer. As far as the hub-cap-less design, caps can actually fly off of cars during high speed chases (cliche as it may be, it's true) so it prevents that from happening, and it also costs the police departments less money (that's all our government is concerned with). As far as unmarked units, they aren't supposed to be in pursuits and should be made to look like civilian cars. Civilian crown vics have the stupid, ugly wheel covers on them so usually the unmarked units do too. There are exceptions of course.

I'd be shocked if it was a full replacement for the SAW. We need machine guns in the infantry. This seems to be a faster firing M16 clone. Suppressing fire is going to be a lot less effective going from 100-200 rounds down to 30-60 with an extended clip. Everything our military is using seems to be drifting towards that particular shape. You can say the same thing about Russian weapons, though. All of their most frequently used machine guns, sniper rifles and sub machine guns are all based off of the AK-47 body shape.

Depending on where you are living at, polygraphs may or may not happen. The state of Massachusetts does not allow police departments to use them during the hiring processes at all. I'm guessing it has to do with a social standpoint on them, or maybe due to previous incidents in court. I thought polygraphs could be used in court, but only really helps as circumstantial evidence, since it's just a machine and can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt whether a person is lying or not.

I'm surprised someone didn't catch this sooner in the thread. Let me explain a couple of things to bucky16 and the rest of you: The HP G series laptops are meant to be priced for general purpose computing. HP has three major series of laptops they sell to consumers; The Pavilion, the G series and Compaqs. Compaqs are the low end, designed for price and price alone. The G series laptops are an improvement, featuring better construction quality and sometimes better specs but let me make something clear to everyone in this thread real quick: What he has is NOT dedicated graphics. He has a relatively new AMD "Fusion" processor, known as an APU, hence the name "A4". It is a dual core CPU at a very low clock frequency (should be somewhere around 1.6-2.0ghz at best) and has a partial GPU on the CPU die itself. It has a GPU clock but no actual dedicated memory (despite the way Windows reads it). It is still technically shared graphics. The 2GB you see is stolen from his 4GB of system RAM, utilizing "virtual memory". Virtual graphics memory is set to a percentage value based on what you have, and it has its limits. 2GB of GPU memory is overkill for anything at 1080p and under. You'd need huge ass textures to really take advantage of that kind of memory with today's games. Put simply, what he has is better than Intel integrated graphics, but still not a video card. Furthermore, he may actually be having a worse experience in games than some Intel integrated PCs. Because although he has a partial GPU on his processor, it's at a low clock frequency which will handicap it in some games, and even prevent him from playing others that require a better CPU. Also 4GB of RAM is spacious for most, but for a gaming PC it's a tight fit. GTA IV requires a lot of RAM, as does Windows 7 itself. So if you add in 2GB of memory being tied down for graphics, that is another source of additional slow down added to your gaming experience. For you, recording is going to be a no-no until you get yourself a better computer.

Fantastic job for a first timer. Those would definitely be worth a download for some folks here. I encourage you to upload them. Just remember that we don't need the car models, just the .png file in a .RAR or .ZIP package with a 'readme.txt' file will do. Keep it up, man, even if it's just for yourself. All of my car and pedestrian skin mods I do for myself, and I release some if I think the public would really like them.

Alright, before I dive into the handling aspect of it, I got the white skin to work, black will not work for me no matter how hard I try. As far as the metallic parts go, they are clearly blue, they are not showing up black or even silver. Is there a specific area I need to try and modify that in ninja?

C++ does work, and it's probably the most powerful language out of all of them, but it's difficult to learn and isn't very forgiving. VB is easy, and Visual Studio will show you the mistakes you made, that's the first programing language I learned unless you count HTML. C# is pretty good because it's more powerful than VB and has some relation to C++ and Java, so if you wanted to learn C++ or Java later on, the transition would be easier. Keep in mind that these more powerful language are college level. They take years to master. I went to a pre-college vocational school for programming and I found out after about a year that I didn't like computer programming. I found that it yielded too little in the way of results vs. the work I put into it. Graphic design seemed to be more instant-results for me, but now I'm unsure about that field too.

No there is only one livery and it's white. I wanted it black, so I did so in Photoshop, then imported it on top of the white one. Instead it seems to make the black livery not visible and the metalic parts of the car (rims, roof rack, push bars) become blue. No idea why. And can you tell me a bit about those? Never edited them before.

Problem with less overtaking mod is that it creates huge traffic jams. I simply tap on the revers and forward keys ever now and then and the cars behind you won't try to pass you. So long as they think you're moving. And on traffic stops they usually go around and don't hit you, barring a few occasions where they do.

Carcols? Anyway I haven't been able to fix it. I tried changing the color of the car textures in Photoshop to dark grey, and that only made the car skin a flat grey, so I'm stumped. Anybody else know? I'd use BXBug's Trailblazer but I wanted an unmarked one.
