  1. To cover the issues you are having with things spawning out of the air, you will have to disable the keybindings in the Simple Native Trainer. To do this, navigate to your main GTA folder (where you installed Simple Native Trainer) and then look for trainer.ini (or trainertbogt.ini / trainertlad.ini if you have episodes from liberty city installed). Right click on the .ini file and open with your choice of text editor (I recommend Notepad ++ for this but standard Notepad works fine too). Then, search for: KeybindingsDisabled=0 and set it equal to 1. This will fix the conflicting key issues. Note that the trainer files might not say .ini, if so, just make sure the file icon has a gear on it.
  2. If you are feeling adventurous, I might be able to direct you to the correct lines and possibly the correct numbers but that's all I can do without digging into it for a long time. I believe that is is the one you want to focus on: VEHICLE nstockade FIELD BONNET_FWD POS The numbers following POS will be X, Y, and Z co-ords but not necessarily in that order. The numbers following ANGLES will refer to the angle at which the camera faces, and FOV is just field of view. EDIT: I would also hesitate to copy in the numbers from the polpatriot because the stockade and patriot are at completely different heights so the camera is likely to be in the ground. However, the horizontal and fwd/bwd co-ords may be correct (if that's the view you want).
  3. Welcome to the forums! For the OpenIV issue, you need to replace the two original files rather than add them, For example, if you want to replace police.wft and police.wtd, right click police.wft in OpeniV and select "replace" and then navigate to the car files you downloaded. Then do the same for police.wtd. Also, rebuilding the archive isn't required and sometimes causes problems (from my experience at least). For the big menu, you will need this mod here: http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/simple-trainer-version-65-f2115
  4. No worry, happens to everyone. @OP I as well haven't found any files that are known for changing the first person view. I opened up vehOff.csv and it appears to have possible camera coordinates but I really have no idea what the numbers do, specifically. EDIT: double ninja'd
  5. Vehicles.ide does not alter camera views at all. Vehicles.ide only controls (in order of appearance in a car string): handling name ID, car name, animation sets, frequency of appearance, max number visible, wheel radius, dirt levels, LOD settings, misc front/rear settings and car flags. I tested myself and confirmed there was no camera difference whatsoever when replacing data entries for the Nstockade with those of the patriot (excluding game name ID's).
  6. Strictly speaking, MSI Afterburner can be used with any game on a large variety of cards (including non-MSI cards) so in that respect, yes, you can certainly use it with GTA. Overclocking is very common and, if done correctly and safely, it can sometimes improve performance in games depending on how far you overclock. It appears that your GTX 420 is probably going to be the deciding factor on how well GTA will run, as well, so overclocking is likely to help at least a little bit. You have to keep in mind though that overclocking leads to extra heat output, so remember to monitor temperatures. This is a good guide for someone looking to overclock: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-overclock-your-video-card-and-boost-your-gaming-30799346
  7. There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing games on windows 8. Those rumours are mainly unfounded. There is no significant performance variance in games between 7 and 8. I currently play on a Windows 8 gaming laptop (16GB RAM, i7-3630, GTX 680M) and all games play on high or very high settings with no lag. The only issues with windows 8 gaming is that some games are incompatible (though that rarely happens). I would try updating your graphics drivers first, then try turning down the settings. See how low you have to get them before it's playable, then report back.
  8. In that case I would try using an older save game (or a new one) just to see if that has any effect.
  9. I had this happen once. I installed a new texture mod for roads and my game got all wacked out. I had gates/barriers spawning in random places, and clocks on the side of roads. The only way I found to fix it was to remove the texture mods and/or reinstall the game. This may or may not help your friend, I'm not sure if he has any texture mods installed or not.
  10. Well, the "is not a valid Win32 application" error usually occurs when a downloaded file is corrupted during the download. I'm not sure how that relates to the reportedly missing ASI loader, though. Try deleting the 0.95 installer and re-downloading it.
  11. Having backup installations won't affect your game as long as they are kept somewhere besides the GTA folder. I see you have GTA installed in G: rather than C: as you mentioned but that should make no difference, I happen to have my copy installed in D: and it works fine. You do have Advancedhook.dll in your GTA directory, correct?
  12. Can you make sure you have the 32-bit version of C++ installed? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Also, make sure you have only dsound.dll in your GTA folder, and not both dsound.dll and xlive.dll.
  13. Do you have a file called "d3d9.dll" in your GTA folder? That's the ENB loader, and needs to be removed to fully uninstall ENB.
  14. For the callouts, you will need to go into your GTA settings and change the keyboard keybinding for chat. The keys conflict and you will need to choose a different button for chat (make sure the new button you assign is unused). As for the forced duty, that was originally intended to be used during testing and may not be fully functional in multiplayer. You could, however, try using SNT to enable "Never Wanted" and that may help.
  15. It will probably run, but likely not very well. The CPU is great (I have the same one in my gaming laptop) but the GPU will probably struggle with GTA. I have heard that the GT 630M can run less-demanding games on good settings, but it can struggle with higher demand games. GTA is poorly optimized for PC, so even some mid-high end PC's can have difficulty. Long story short, yes, you can run it (as him1250 said) but you will likely have to keep the graphics down low.
  16. The only way to "delete" a car that you have modded is to restore a backup of the original car, or a backup of vehicles.img. I'm not sure what you mean by "spawned a car that was already taken", though.
  17. You need to walk to a police station first (or you could steal a car to get there). Police Stations will be shown on the map. Once you arrive at one, walk into the circle on the ground and you'll be taken to the main police station for LCPDFR. Walk into the room in front of you, at the end of the hall, and you can then choose your ped and your car.
  18. You need to press Alt + P in order to start LCPDFR and then you need to drive to a police station. For a mod menu, I think you mean a trainer. Most recommend Simple Native Trainer (http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/simple-trainer-version-65-f2115). Make sure to disable the keybindings in the menu for simple native trainer.
  19. I have found (on 0.95 at least) that when the AI car starts to drive away after being asked to get out, and a red blip DOESN'T appear on the map, that they are about to stop about 30 feet away, get out, and open fire. If it wasn't for the red blip, there would be really no way to tell if they're taking off to chase or if they're taking off a short ways and then planning to open fire. If you play on hardcore mode, though, a blip will never show (I believe).
  20. I personally prefer to keep SNT running in the background rather than killing it completely, but it depends on the person. I find it more useful to press F4 and pick up where I left off in the menus rather than having to reactivate it and navigate back. In the long run it doesn't matter which way it's done, both methods achieve the same outcome.
  21. I'd add that SNT doesn't have to be disabled in order to work with LCPDFR. Only the keybindings have to be disabled.
  22. Press Escape in game, go to Graphics, and lower vehicle density.
  23. Do you know of any tried and true solutions for remedying the problem (besides disabling AI ELS)?
  24. I personally don't use ELS 7 so I haven't heard of this problem before. I'll take your word on ELS 7 causing these issues, and I'll post an addendum shortly. Thanks for mentioning this. -- Iconography
  25. Well, 6GB is plenty for GTA. 900MB of VRAM (video memory) isn't all that good though. How many cars have you modded? It's possible that your modded cars are consuming a lot of memory, and then it is made worse with ELS. You can try leaving the basic police cars (police and police2 [cruiser and patrol]) unaltered, and then you can try modding either the FBI Buffalo or the Noose cruiser, and then seeing if that helps.
