VWking reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First Preview
    Been a while, huh?

You know, when we first started making LSPDFR, the whole process was pretty much one big roller-coaster that didn't have any brakes:  there were the obvious highs when we'd finally add in something cool, but the low points were pretty hard as well - the amount of work that went into simply researching how things worked really took its toll as well.  And, of course, while this was all going on there just simply wasn't any stopping, we were a couple of (somewhat) real people who essentially lived in Los Santos for just about all of 2015, spending month after month pushing forward and trying to come up with things that everyone here would like to see.

So, of course, the grind and the pace of everything simply just wasn't sustainable and after 0.3, it's no secret that while the numbers and everything for our site are still on the up, month after month, things did slow down quite substantially for the actual mod itself.  But, we can tell you, this wasn't all bad news - it's afforded us the opportunity to take a step back and really look at the mod and figure out where we want to go next with it.  While our approach before was all about cramming as much new stuff as we could into a couple of months of development, we've now been able to look back at many of the original ideas and concepts that we had for LSPDFR and build on them.  Of course, with that being said, there's still a lot of new stuff crammed into 0.4!

With 0.4, we've taken the time to fix a couple of those "how the hell didn't they add this yet" moments :)

Aside from the cool little additions like this, though, the major theme of 0.4 is Character.  Ever since seeing the character system for GTA Online, it was always our goal to implement something similar in LSPDFR.  There's just something that much more personal and immersive about playing a game with your own character, and the possibilities that it offers are staggering too.  And yes, while mods like EUP are fantastic (and awesomely compatible with 0.4!), they still feel somewhat separate or distant.  With 0.4, this separation is gone.

No, these shots aren't taken from GTA Online.  This is our own, fully-featured, LSPDFR Character Creator.

Of course, we'll talk more about the new Character features in LSPDFR 0.4 later.  The Character Creator menu shown above is obviously only one part of what's new in this regard, although hopefully it emphasizes the effort that we've gone to.  Thanks to some of the new additions like this, much of 0.4 actually looks and feels like an entirely new mod altogether.

Officer Ronson and his clones obviously couldn't make it to the flashlight party.

Stay tuned!  We'll be sharing more about 0.4 soon.

Ah glad I'm not the only one with these problems.

    @pjrthefox - thanks. I'll give that a go.

I didn't realise the new version of RPH came with the counter measure for DLC vehicles. TrainerV uses a work around to spawn DLC vehicles in game so the RPH option isn't actually needed for all those also using TrainerV.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    **UPDATE**

The problem appears to be RPH conflicting with either TrainerV or ScriptHookV itself. It has something to do with the way in which DLC vehicles are unlocked for SP use in game, as I believe they each use different methods of doing this.

    **THE FIX**

Thanks to @pjrthefox - make sure that you select the following in RPH advanced settings:-

You can still load LSPDFR at startup - I have tried and tested.

Crashes have disappeared (for now) as long as 'Disable counter measures...' is selected.

I'd LOVE this. Also, I've been suggesting for some time now, a randomly generated "Wanted" notification for peds. What I mean is, you'd get a notification from dispatch (hopefully vocally) saying there's a wanted individual. It'd describe (from the ped pool) their general build, race, sex, and what they're wearing. Then it'd say their last known location (Davis for example) as the peds in GTA V spawn in their designated areas. I've tested the idea myself, by simply finding a ped on the street, and then telling myself to search for them in that general area again. Example I used
    Black Male
    Early 20's
    Families Gang Member
    White Tank Top
    Blue Jeans (light)
    White Shoes
    Green Baseball Cap
Known To Frequent The "Davis-Carson Avenue" Area.
After about half an hour of occasionally checking back in that area, I sure enough found exactly who I was looking for. I got the idea from the show "First 48", in which they'd look for murder suspects with these general guidelines. If we could have dispatch send us notifications like these, and have the ability to check back (ask again) for the info, that'd be great!
Here's how I figured the call could go
"Attention all units, we have a wanted felon on the loose".
If you hit "Y", your unit would say (through text)
"Dispatch, this is (insert unit here) show me additional info on that wanted suspect"
Then, as above, dispatch would send you a random ped's description. No blips or anything, it's all just at the player's discretion as to whether or not a ped walking/driving fits that description.

    Hey guys,
After doing some investigation and with the help of MulleDK19, we have discovered that most potential RPH 0.37 crashes can be solved! I have provided an easy-to-follow, short tutorial below. Please let me know if this helped or not.

    Hey Guys,
I have also experienced the dreaded crash, just after the prison. Right as you pass under the 'Hell Awaits' sign. As my game was heavily modded with open iv, scripts and lspdfr plugins, it has been a nightmare trying to pin down these crashes.
I have though been playing for over three hours with no crashes and open iv mods and lspdfr plugins by doing the following.
Hold shift when you start the game with rage and bring up the settings menu. Click advanced settings and tick the following: Disable counter measures against online vehicles being removed in singleplayer.
Do not preload LSPD first response at start. (Run once in game using console command). I have not tried loading first response automatically as I was just so relieved to not have any crashes.
@VWking I would definitely not try this with open interiors.
Hope this works for you chaps

Hopopop, I stop you right there, sir. Your computer is a laptop. Therefore it is either impossible or extremely expensive to upgrade, due to the lack of space available. You'd be better off buying a new computer altogether.

Forgot to mention, it'd be great if you could include the original V licence plate, although it looks like you are from the first screenshot.

Just checking too that you're using the template by Cj24 - If so, I'll start creating some CHP liveries.

VWking reacted to PNWParksFan in [WIP] [REL] Custom Backup by Location
    MOD RELEASED:

So, I've been working on this for several weeks now, and am finally ready to share some details. Please note this plugin will not be available for a while longer - it's very much still in development, and only the basic framework has been built so far. That said, I can't wait to release it to the community! If you're interested in beta testing please send me a PM.
This plugin will allow you to define a custom CustomBackup.xml to override the default LSPDFR Backup.xml in certain geographical areas. It will also correctly implement vehicle extras (which seems to be broken in the default Backup.xml), and will have the ability to change the "chance" of every vehicle set, vehicle, and ped (the default Backup.xml only lets you set a chance on peds). You'll be able to set vehicle color, and what distance range from the scene each type of vehicle should spawn at, so that you can configure special units to spawn further away.
This gives you infinite control over how backup responds in different parts of the map. For example, for my testing, I have configured certain regions which are parks to have the park ranger respond in Mt. Chiliad, Raton Canyon, Cassidy Creek, Paleto Forest, Mount Josia, and San Chianski Mtn Range. I have also configured for Fort Zancudo to have base security respond as local patrol, military HUMVEEs respond as local SWAT, and Rhino tanks respond for NOOSE swat. I've also set the Annihilator, Buzzard2, and Savage to respond as local air support, and the Hydra and Lazer respond as NOOSE air support... that's right, fighter jets in your backup menu! At the airport I have an Airport Police livery which responds, as well as Federal Police. At the ports, the Port Police responds, and on the beach there's a chance of the Lifeguard responding for local patrol and a Coast Guard helicopter responding as the air unit.
You specify what units should respond based on the WorldZone, meaning you can override for an entire county, or a specific area like "Sandy Shores" or "Vinewood Hills". The custom backup XML file only has to specify the options you want to override; if a zone isn't defined or you only define one response type (e.g. only override local patrol unit), then it'll use whatever your default LSPDFR setting is automatically.
Current progress status of the mod:
    Completed:
Create CustomBackup.xml format Parse CustomBackup.xml components: Create backup menu with dynamic options depending on if pursuit is active Determine correct response when backup is requested (choose a vehicle set correctly) Spawn correct backup vehicles and peds, and add to pursuit New 2/2/16: Implemented basic Code 2 and Code 3 response. Code 2 responds at a slower speed, with flashing lights but no sirens. Code 3 responds at higher speed with sirens.  New 2/3/16: Implemented configuration of vehicle liveries and extras, vehicle color, and vehicle spawn radius range.  New 2/4/16: Implemented setting ped model components, improved Code 2/3 response driving code.  New 2/5/16: Implemented ped hat/prop selection. Added various options to config file.
Implemented 3 levels of Code 2 response options - no lights/siren; lights only; and no lights until arrival on scene, then turn lights on when arriving on scene New 2/7/16: Implemented audio when calling backup, e.g. "Attention all units... backup requested at <location>, units respond Code 3", and option in ini file to toggle audio on/off.  New 2/7/16: Implemented specification of custom weapons for responding peds, and chance of each weapon spawning New 2/22/16: Lots of small details have been cleaned up significantly. Better controller support, ability to override LSPDFR backup menu, more customization options in the XML file, better Code 2 and Code 3 response AI, partial ambulance support, detection of police computer in use to avoid unwanted interaction, and more. Public release should be by the end of the month. Thank you to the beta testers for all your help!
And, here's a preview screenshot of custom backup arriving at Ford Zancudo. Yes, that's a fighter jet about to take a bombing run at the suspects!

And here we are over in Raton Canyon and we get Rangers responding in various vehicles including an ATV:

Here's an image showing the livery and component selection. At the airport, LS Airport police and Federal Protective Police spawn. The airport police cars have pushbars and regular cop peds, the federal police have no pushbars and have IAA agent models.

I've had no experience with alienware myself so take my comment with a pinch of salt but I doubt you'd be getting value for money if you bought from them (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

If you do want to build a computer yourself just put a little research into the parts you're planning on buying, if you're unsure of anything tomshardware forum is a really good place for advice on anything computer related.

Do remember though that it's not just the graphics card that you need to think about when building a gaming pc (or any pc for that matter). What I mean by this is you don't want to buy a high end graphics card and then power it with a cheap PSU, because that's just a recipe for disaster.

One thing I'd definitely recommend is an SSD (this will help significantly with loading times). I'm currently using the Samsung 840 EVO and I couldn't recommend it enough!

    Hope this helps :)

That will run the game on High with no issues, but I recommend building your own. You can get way better performance for your money if you build your own and you get the satisfaction of knowing that you built it and not somebody else. Look at it like it's expensive legos, it's not difficult at all. There are plenty of great videos out there that teach you step-by-step what to do.
