Braveheart's Policing Script [23/11/2012: 2.0 BETA released!]

Featured Replies

The mod seems to be interfering with the LCPDFR mod, whenever there is a suicidal call and you managed to get their put down their gun due to the policing script there is a chance that the person will deny and try to shoot at me but in a glitchy way, then he surrenders and put his hands on his head butt... my partner starts shooting at the person cause it tried to shoot me. He dies, the objective marker still hovering on his body and I got nothing to do left. sorry, I suck at explaining this.

But anyway main thing is, due to the chance of peds resisting arrest it just interferes with the lcpdfr mods. And whole other stuff doesnt work, like telling people to move away and stuff.

Nobody ain't listening, mate. Last reported bug was 2 weeks ago, still no response.

Looking at Friday 10th August for the release.

  • 2.3 should fix any issues with locations not showing up.  There was also an issue in the previous version where resist arrest would prevent or sometimes crash when LCPDFR arresting, this has been fixe

I think what throws a lot of people off is that it is based around UK police, which is a lot more on foot than US one. In the us/canada 99% is car based. So when you get to a scene people are like "uhm ok now what".

I haven't gotten any bugs with 2.x but i haven't used it much because i find the interface clumsy (too many keyboard shortcuts). I know the first (or well 2nd if you will) release caused my vehicle to disappear (i must have been the only one with that particular bug) but this is fixed in 2.x.

So far so good. I did notice that it keeps doing the same firearm-related calls constantly, not much of a "random" set of calls like the previous versions.

Have been testing it and like drdetroit said, 0 crashes. One minor issue I see is that on the Callout of a Person with a Weapon it appears (for example):

SniperRifle_Basic Hematite St

Other than that, it's great.

Would it be possible to add INI values for the frequency of calls, and for the chance of each type of call?

Edit: We used to be able to just stand next to a person in a car to order them out, now we can only order them out at gunpoint. I'd like to be a little less forceful at MVAs and traffic stops, could we get that feature back?

Great to see an update Braveheart, thanks!

Can anyone confirm if the breathalyser error still occurs? I use US format with a limit of 0.05 (Australia) and whenever someone fails the breathalyser, the part of the script crashes. If I open the console thing (by hitting ` ) it looks like there are two recordings of their breath, one is a pass and one is a failure.

I have not had a crash due to breathalyzer script yet (v2.3, US 0.08), I've used it a at least a few dozen times during gameplay last night.  Nice to have it back again without crashing.

The limit is only .05 is Australia?  Wow, that's not even a pint of Fosters!

If I Recall Correctly, it was removed a few versions earlier because of the crashes.I can be wrong.

I still seem to get breathalyser crashes in 2.3 when a driver fails a roadside breath test. Is anyone else experiencing this? If you aren't, what scripthook version are you using?

No crashes when I get a fail result.  Not sure what version I'm using, looks like 0.51?  Copied from Scripthook.txt:  GTA IV Script Hook 0.5.1 - © 2009, Aru - Initialized

Hope that helps.

My police station icons along with the red things that spawn you inside disappear after I install this script. Help

This mods worked fine until I installed the policing script and a couple of other mods ( a graphic mod, a FPS mod and a blood re-texture). After that the police station icons disappeared along with the red things that teleport you inside. I thought it was the policing script so I removed it, but nothing. I also removed the other mods and re-installed LCPDFR using the installer but the mod doesn't work (no police stations, nothing happens when I press Shift+Tab). The files are however in the scripts foldeer (the .dll, the .ini and the LCPDFR folder ). Any suggestions?
