Just a week ago, we released LSPDFR 0.4.  Since then, there's been at any given time an average of 620 people playing LSPDFR, peaking at just over 1,200 earlier today.  We think these are pretty incredible numbers for a game mod, and we've really enjoyed watching as people get to grips with 0.4 and all of the new possibilities it offers.

With that being said, we've been monitoring the support forums and have recognized that there are, of course, a couple of issues with 0.4.  We're working to get as many of these sorted as we can and hope to release a small patch to address the most important ones shortly.

Today, though, we're introducing two new features as part of LSPDFR Sync - the Activity Feed and the Companion App.

Activity Feed

The Activity Feed, in a bit of a throwback to the days of LCPDFR's Crime Statistics, is a live activity wall of everything that's going on in LSPDFR 0.4.  You can track what your fellow officers are up to with live updates on callouts, traffic stops, arrests, etc.  Plus, we've integrated it with the website so everything is linked together nicely as far as Characters and forum accounts go.

Companion App

The Companion App is something a little different that we're working on.  Open it up while in-game and you'll see an overview of your current session with your Character's location marked on a Google Maps style rendition of San Andreas.  As well as some basic info about your Character, we've added a couple of actions that can be performed from the app such as calling backup and going on and off duty.

It's early days, but we definitely have some cool plans going forward for the Companion App.

Yea I tried to join, but the application process and everything is just too complicated. I get wanting to have legit RP people however it is still just a game.

I am mostly a single player in my gaming world as i dont really get involved in playing with other real people in multiplayer games. I like reading and seeing how others are getting on but mostly just do my own thing. However i love to see stats and anything that deepens immersion. I have no issue others seeing how i am getting on as well.

It could be fun to see more of the off duty stats too. How many rounds of golf played, the showers taken thingy, etc. I have yet to really see whats out there while off duty. There are mods that open up things like the beach gym and adds nightclubs on GTA5-mods.com site but the few i have tried seem to crash my game.

But i would love a kind of fitness stats. A police gym or city gym where we could kid of workout and the LSPDFR apps show how your doing. Maybe a medical stats, shooting range stats etc.

But i am rambling on about silly stuff hehe.

Thank you anyways and looking forward to checking this out Sam and Team.

It is certainly something we are thinking about, however, we will need to figure out a few things first, such as limiting abuse (which will require some backend engineering), before we will make a decision on how (or whether) we make the sync services available via API.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

I'm definitely interested in what is going to be developed further with this app, excited to see it.

Thank you for the continued support.

Would be nice to get an app so I can do stuff through my tablet.

Deat, been playing GTA for a bit, kinda need something where I can be a cop and take a break from FiveM

You can, just go to the page on your tablet.

Yeah, I definitely get that. You could have devs who want to use it register for an API key requiring approval, and rate-limit it. As the request would originate within the LSPDFR assembly, you could even do some preliminary rate-limiting when the API is used.

Just think, if you're using their mod, you've already consented to their terms and conditions. If you dont want your information stored, not syncing is the first step, but not using the mod is the best step.

Just assume they're collecting the usual information, machine information, stats on your game, anything you do inside the mod, ect.
