My Favourite Quote -

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

J. (Julius) Robert Oppenheimer, July 16, 1945 - Day of the Success of the Trinity Program.

I find this quote to be one of my favourites because it has a lot of meaning behind it, especially the fact that the man J. Robert Oppenheimer has come to terms with the fact that he has created a weapon so powerful that it can end an entire planet.

I've got quite a few, I'll post two (a motto and a poem)

Royal Air Force's motto: "Per Ardua, Ad Astra" Latin for Through adversity, to the stars. Which is so perfect really, because it recognises that there will be difficulties in achieving success, and that its part of the journey. I like that it can be both literally taken as to the stars, as pilots are those closest to them (except Astronauts) and metaphorical (to success). It's so simple, yet realistic and motivational, very relatable to any pilot as well, no one has a perfect run in life.

There's also a poem by John Gillespie Magee

High Flight

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
– Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

A cool topic, it's something that we all have, but never think about it.

"The ultimate measure of a man or woman is not where he/she  stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he/she  stands at times of challenge and controversy" - M.L.K.

I quite like the quote - "I don't have dreams, I have goals" - Harvey Spectre from the show 'Suits'.

As a student with big aspirations post graduation, this quote has changed my perspective quite a bit. Instead of thinking of the endgame, you have to construct smaller goals that will eventually lead to the bigger ones. At least that's how I've interpreted the quote.

> The main business of a lawyer is to take the romance, the mystery, the irony, the ambiguity out of everything he touches.

His Honor Antonin Scalia, the best Justice the SCOTUS ever had. As a lawyer, I agree.
