4 Cops hit, all non- life threatening, multiple civilians hit also. Suspect barricaded in office, exchanging fire right now. Suspect has an AK47

Update 1-Bearcat against building, police asking for M14s to shoot through walls as well as gas masks and tear gas

Update 2-Barricaded inside bank, police have bomb robot with camera watching him inside.

Update 3- Last officer to be hit, a sheriff's deputy, was shot in the leg through a wall. BEAR can't see anything from the front of the bank

Update 4- CNN says location is actually Planned Parenthood, but scanner talks of a 25 foot wide lobby and cashier windows. It sounds more like a bank. Police have lost eyes on suspect.

Update 5- 3 civilians rescued from bathroom, unknown location

Interesting to see they don't encrypt radio communications during something like this.

Good to hear there are no life threatening injuries so far.

Usually scanners get taken down during events like this. I'm surprised it's still up too, since almost every modern agency has a tactical channel for events like these that's encrypted/open to multiple agencies.

Update 6-4 civilians, 4 cops hit total. Police wanting to know building is clear to take a sniper shot.

Update 7-Cops unable to take a shot, people might be inside of a room behind suspect.

Update 8- Inside Planned Parenthood,female confirmed inside pharmacy. No ability to take a shot.

Update 9- Woman in drug room got out, 2 more inside room down hallway suspect went down.

Update 10- 3 rooms left to clear, 5 civilians believed to still be inside.

Update 11- Suspect may have devices inside building, confirmed entire incident was at Planned Parenthood, with one of the previously mentioned cops being shot at the Chase Bank several hundred yards away.

Update 12-One suspect detained, claims to be alone.

Update 13-EOD team requested to sweep the building, news reporting propane tanks in parking lot.

One Officer has been killed, sadly in this horrific shooting.

Update: According to CNN's twitter there are, in addition to the officer killed, two civilians dead.

To paraphrase Dr. Martin L. King, "It reveals our society is still sick enough to express dissent through murder. We have not learned to disagree without being violently disagreeable." While we do not know the exact motives behind these murders, violence against America's Planned Parenthood Program is well documented.

This can not, and is not, the answer. Viciously killing anyone is to be condemned. We have a system for resolving disputes non-violently. And while we may not always be satisfied with the process and the results, mass murder certainly isn't the answer.

I 100% Agree with you. I hate that some idiots are actually condoning this kind of behavior.

Considering planned parenthood was the target, I have a feeling this man will turn out to be a hardcore Christian, with an anti-government mentality due to them legalizing abortion and contraception methods. No known motive yet, but that's my guess. We'll see if it pans out.

Good quote Ranger61, we are living in a time where people who feel betrayed by society often resort to violence to express their discontent. It feels like the human race is getting dumber, resorting to primitive behavior to speak up. Of course only a very small percentage is guilty of this, but they still manage to terrorize the rest of the world. I often wonder what kind of damage (beside the emotional one) is caused with these senseless killings, what if one of the victims could have become or gave birth to the next Albert Einstein.

That's exactly what I was thinking... The only way they spread ideas is through fear, hate, and violence, so it isn't a bad bet.
