The idea about the steady burn is cool, but for accuracy, I have lived in the Los Angeles area most of my life and i can tell you that no law enforcement departments use steady burn on any cars.

CVC requires law enforcement to have one steady burn front red light. I've seen this especially with CHP vehicles.

CVC 25252. EMERGENCY VEHICLE LIGHTS: One steady red light, visible for 1000ft to the front. May also use revolving, flashing, or steady red light to the front, side or rear.

Deep breath guys!    Just want to clear a few things up.  I made this mod EVL compatible for a few reasons:  I am lighting freak and I really like flexibility a mod like EVL affords.

Guys, I am not dead yet (neither is the project)....I just honestly had zero time to put into this the past few months.  I am longing to get back at it....i just can't answer as to when.

  • I've had a few people ask me that via PM....i'll send out the template to those who are interested as soon as I have it ready.  That way, we can have a bunch of skins ready when it's released. Worki

xD you mustn't look very hard,  the CHP in particular have steady burn on everywhere,  wing mirrors and push bars are set to steady burn at crashes and pullovers, as Mitchell said, it's required by law. There's plenty of videos and photos on the Internet showing the CHP and LAPD using steady burn.

yea i understand they do it for different scenarios. what i meant is as the cars don't do that when they are just randomly idle. sorry i didn't explain my reason much. for exapmle, if the cop is on break and the car is running, the lights are on a steady burn on the corners

I see what you mean now. That's something I'd like to mirror using the preventive patrol lights, so if I get to a crash or a pullover, instead of having the flashing lights I can just have something like that, which seems more like what they use in Cali.

OK, a quick update.  Sorry for the radio silence.  I had to deal with a horrific normal issue due to a bug in zmodler, which ate up a bunch of time and cause a lot of rework (lost a lot of sleep, hair, etc dealing with that one ;) ), but that task is done now and bodywork looks great.  I still have a long list of bugs to get through but I did manage to get my liberty II light bar in a working state with EVL.  I also made a traffic advisor for the back, Here is a video of my first sucessful lighting test.  The emergency lighting and siren is controlled by EVL, as well as the alley lights.  The spot and takedown low beam, are extra lights 1 and 2.

It's a personal preference. I choose not to use his mod for my own reasons.

If that's the case, there is always Desmond's perfectly functional non-EVL model. @zoogenhiemer currently wishes to make this mod EVL and ELS (whenever it comes out) only, due to the complexity and requirements involved in his lighting setup. If he wishes to create a model that will not require any special lighting scripts/mods (emphasis on if), you can expect that at a much later date.

But what you gonna do when els will get released zoogenhiemer is doing what every modder is doing in the future because els and evl gives the modder much more options in terms of lighting setups and as M3Creepsta sad you can use desmonds model without evl.

Guys, the only source that i am going to listen to in terms of whether Zoogenhiemer wants to release EVL or non EVL models is by Zoogenhiemer himself, not his 'fans.'

Again, i chose not to use EVL for personal reasons that for in the best of our interest should remain undisclosed.
