  12. Guys, I am not dead yet (neither is the project)....I just honestly had zero time to put into this the past few months. I am longing to get back at it....i just can't answer as to when.

  15. not to worry, i've just been a little distracted by fallout 4. It's been chewing into my modding time.... I will be back at it soon. ELV was removed?? ugh, i will have to check it out.

  17. Good to know guys. I will take a look at police 4. Get your feet wet with one of the DEV models on the download page. The CVPI dev version is a great one to start with, as it is all set up for you. You can use it to test out components you make like light bars, etc.

  19. for now yes, it is using sheriff2. Which is not ideal, because it handles like a granger by default. I am planning on trying out some other slots, but i have not done so yet.
  20. Agreed. This is one of reasons why my version of the explorer is taking so long. I am modeling everything myself, for fear of using anyone's elses work, and not attributing it exactly right. But it is a huge task. @Desmond98 So sorry to see you are stopping production, your model looks really good, but I totally understand. I KNOW it is an absolutely huge effort to create a mod like this.

  22. Possibly, i'll add it to my list and take a look at how difficult it would be.
  23. YES! you can make them any color, that's the beauty of it. I plan on making an blue version.
  24. Hey all, so my current plan is to get the exterior work to 100% which is nearly there now. But the interior is in sad shape, heck there is not even a steering wheel in there now, lol. I am going to get the interior to a basic level so that it looks ok in 3rd person. (the door panels look ok when open, etc.) Release it, then focus on making a kick ass interior for use in first person. The first person interior has to be modeled and textured from scratch (You can see some of my early interior work in this thread) so it's going to take a while. This way those that want start using it right away, can, while those that want to wait for the interior, can do so. Should be a only week or two until this 3rd person only version is ready.
  25. Deep breath guys! Just want to clear a few things up. I made this mod EVL compatible for a few reasons: I am lighting freak and I really like flexibility a mod like EVL affords. I've been dying for a traffic adviser, and now i am have one that is close. It is much easier to setup (for the mod maker anyway) than using the stock sirens. No trying to guess where the siren will pop up, or whether you got the scale and offset correct, not messing with the siren settings lines in meta files, etc. You put the flash object in the correct spot in it's actual size, group it with others that you want it o flash with and boom, it works. I knew i was going to make the jump ELS as soon as it was released, so experimenting with EVL should allow me to transition, with little effort, to ELS as soon as it arrives. EVL is a stopgap. That said, i realize that ELS and EVL is not everyone' cup of tea and the approach it takes certainly has it's drawbacks. Perhaps it's biggest Achilles heel right now is that there are currently only 9 extra slots are accessible to use. That sounds like a lot, especially since you can put many flash objects in each extra (unlimited really), but each flash in an extra all have to share the same local pivot, as far as i can tell. Why is that a limitation you ask? well, its only really a problem on parts that move. Take the doors for example, you'll notice i no longer have lights on the door mirrors. Well that is because the when the light was flashing and you opened the door, the light would still flash as if it was closed. To make it work, i would have to nest the extra to the door as child object, so that when the door object rotates, so does the flash. But that would force all the lights being used by that extra rotate too, which of course would look odd. I could just use extra 1 and extra 2 only on the left and right doors, but that would leave only 3 and 4 for the primary pattern. and that may very well work, i need to try it and see. Another option i was toying with is using a combo of stock sirens and ELV, use the stock sirens on the door mirrors, and other parts that open (boot for example, but since that is opened much less then doors, it's not as bad) ELS may very well have a way around this problem, and i hope it can use more extra slots, but time will tell. Why am I telling you guys all of this? well, i guess to let you know in the world of modding, just like real life....everything is a compromise personally i choose the path that gets me as close to my vision for a vehicle as i can get. But to answer the question asked, i will certainly consider making a non EVL/ELS version after i get this version out. But it will probably be a slick top ;)
  26. decided to test her snow legs up in north yankton! NYSP Skin by @Mercuri I made new traffic adviser based on the code 3 command stick, and set up some new lights on the boot. Again all lights are EVL.

  28. OK, a quick update. Sorry for the radio silence. I had to deal with a horrific normal issue due to a bug in zmodler, which ate up a bunch of time and cause a lot of rework (lost a lot of sleep, hair, etc dealing with that one ;) ), but that task is done now and bodywork looks great. I still have a long list of bugs to get through but I did manage to get my liberty II light bar in a working state with EVL. I also made a traffic advisor for the back, Here is a video of my first sucessful lighting test. The emergency lighting and siren is controlled by EVL, as well as the alley lights. The spot and takedown low beam, are extra lights 1 and 2.

  30. Also, i was thinking about a way to add "preventative patrol" lights as an optional extra. I think it would not be too hard to make them turn on with extra light 15, or just set them to an emissive and they would always be there...turned on on low power. Would be of interest to anyone, or is it just overkill/dumb? For those who don't know what i am talking about, a lot of city police forces in the us are turning on low powered red and blue lights whenever the engine is on. The idea is announce police presence to prevent crime. DC has been doing it forever...
  31. Well, the model is correct but alas, without ELS for GTAV availible, we are stuck with very few flash patterns, but let me see what i can come up with. That said I am going to try to get a rounded "pill" look to the flashes, to more closely match what comes out of this bar. I would kill to be able to make traffic advisors, and some of the mini flashers that are included in many of these bars. sigh...some day ELS will come to GTAV.
  32. video of progress on emergency lighting scheme. liberty II light bar coming soon! Sorry forgot to mute the siren in these videos. I did not have my headphone on ;) Older video (wheel texture has been fixed since then ;): anything is possible ;) but making it a extra would be tough. It's all a trade off. We only have twenty "sirens" to work with, so with a full bar along the back glass it would have to be a slick top, as we would run out of lights ;p I've already used 4 on the ram bar, 2 on the mirrors, and 4 in the back.
