  • Just as a quick update, we're doing our best to continue to fix things up.  The main cause of the performance issues was resolved earlier today, although there's still one problem which is resulting i

  • Sam, you and the whole team are just amazing. There's no need to apologize considering how hard you all are working to fix this issue.   Great work.

Thanks for the update. You guys have done a great job keeping the community up to speed on development for 0.2 and we appreciate it. Good luck in getting around Rockstar's roadblocks.

of which will be released?

You have the answer in OP...

Good news to hear that you found a solution. Keep up the good work. :) I have a question though, when you say for example "today", you mean UTC time or else?

y would u say some bs like that dumb butt

This sucks.  I mean if they are targeting mods this way (which... lets face it, they are still going to keep trying to slow down hooks), its pretty savage on their part.  This type of protection won't even really stop a cheater from cheating online... its just going to make certain offline mods hard to enjoy...

Thanks for keeping us in the loop - you could tell (I upgraded to the most recent to get ready for 0.2), that something was happening with the delays of game performance, even without having a lot of units on scene, you can still kinda detect there was a i

sorry finkone was meant for someone else

Hope LSPDFR 0.2 will work with V372 of the game... I downgraded mine because of the latest patch : lof of FPS drops, modded or not :/

Keep up the good work =

Its funny, this happened with GTA IV, after the 1.0.7.0 update it ruined the graphics and caused lag , ultimately it seemed a lot of people went to 1.0.4.0 but we couldnt run lcpdfr on it. its like rockstar underminds millions of people for what??  They released a notice stating that they had no intention of blocking modders for single player but now im not sure. Sam has seen all the code so he would know.   Also can anyone tell m,e if thier whoile directory changed after the latest update because I lost all my mods and had to reinstall them. I wasnt sure if it was me or did this happen to others????

First of all u don't no what Sam has saw second if u lost all you mods that's on u y didn't u have a backup man

LSPDFR was literally the only reason why I purchased GTA V on PC. Instead of fighting against G-17, perhaps rockstar should contract G-17 for an expansion pack? Why all the ignorance? And what about this:

“I’m having soo much fun with GTAV on the PC but I just have one question about it, how come you are not allowing mods for it?” - @ClarkMatthew63
“Will I get banned from GTA Online for using a FoV Mod or Oculus Rift mod?” - @Mattophobia

We have always appreciated the creative efforts of the PC modding community and we still fondly remember the awesome zombie invasion mod and original GTA map mod for GTAIV PC among many other classics. To be clear, the modding policy in our license has not changed and is the same as for GTAIV.  Recent updates to GTAV PC had an unintended effect of making unplayable certain single player modifications. This was not intentional, no one has been banned for using single player modifications, and you should not worry about being banned or being relegated to the cheater pool just for using single player PC mods. Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. It also bears mentioning that because game mods are by definition unauthorized, they may be broken by technical updates, cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways.

Rockstar is snake as fuck if they are legitimately preventing this mod from working via countermeasures. We speak with our dollars, and sometimes even petitions. We can whine, or we can do something..

sorry finkone was meant for someone else

Lol chill the heck down, I just asked, not even you, cause there was no answer to my question in last threats about the mod. Maybe you should stop quoting everyone for 5 times...

---

About this time question, so I don't do full off top - there was a suggestion yesterday, that Sam means CST time, even if he lives in UK. If someone from development team would answer, so people will know when to expect further releases (not only 2.0), that'd be great... :) Thanks.

Sam and G17 Team, great work in such short time, it goes to show that Rockstars efforts in stopping modding are in fact worthless to a degree if you could rout them so quickly.  Not to mention that the online community speaks to one another so once a workaround has been found its out there for everyone to exploit.  I do appreciate Rockstars attempts at locating and dealing with cheaters but these methods have been proven time and again to be pointless and a waste of time.  Every multiplayer game has experienced the same issues and no matter how many patches they issue it a few days they are made worthless.

Thanks again and take your time, cant wait for 0.2!!!

Several problem with this,

1. Should Rockstar consider allowing LSPDFR as an expansion they would surely charged the players in some way for it, I heavily doubt it would be "Free"

2. If Rockstar would even allow a "Free" expansion of LSPDFR they would want control and ownership rights over it, meaning even if Sam and the G17 team were to be brought on-board they would need permission from Rockstar for every little addition and change.

3. Rockstar doesnt care about mods like LSPDFR continuing the life span of GTA they have been around long enough and make enough money off the initial purchase they already have enough money.  If they cant exploit mods like LSPDFR into making more money for them there not going to be interested.

First up, we're all sorry for the problems we encountered with the release last night.  Unfortunately, there was a game breaking performance issue which was found only a few hours before we intended to release and this has required some time to investigate.

The good news is that we've done our best to mitigate this problem, related to the way in which Rockstar has started to introduce anti-modding protections.  For those of you interested in the technical detail, here's a snippet of a performance test ran by Alexander Blade and LMS:

Performance difference between GTA V version 372 and 393

Calling SET_CURRENT_PED_WEAPON 1000 times via ScriptHookV and RAGEPluginHook:
372: ~582ms (RPH: ~585ms)
393: ~2480ms (RPH: ~2490ms)

Performance on version 323/350 is most likely even better due to even less/no obfuscation than 372.

In short, on the previous patch (372), it took 585 milliseconds for the function to be executed 1000 times.  On the newest patch (393), it took 2490 milliseconds, which is roughly 2.5 seconds, to be executed 1000 times.  This means that this particular function takes five times longer to execute on the latest patch than it did previously.  LSPDFR 0.2 and 0.1 call this function a lot, mainly to stop other police officers from killing suspects, as we force them to be unarmed when appropriate by using it.  As such, during a pursuit with even a couple of units, performance takes a hit.

With the problem identified, we've managed to come up with an alternative way of doing things that doesn't have such a dreadful impact on performance.  This version is currently undergoing testing, and we hope to be in a position to release 0.2 as soon as possible.  Note that I won't commit to a date, as it is possible we run into further issues, and we'd like to avoid a situation similar to last night's, but there is still the possibility that we can release today, and we'll keep you updated as to our progress.

Sam.

Sam you and your team are doing great work as always, so dont apologize just keep it up and 2.0 will be worth the waite.

THANKS Luc

Awesome to hear this. Don't let any of these ungrateful folks get to you. You guys are the best, keep up the awesome work!!

and a note for everyone. If you love the mod consider donating, most of you already have said "you guys do this for free"...if all 170,000 members donated 1$ a month that would give these awesome guys $170,000.00 a month to work on! This goes for all developers. If you don't have money to donate that's fine but for those of us that may have an extra 10$ here and there, I'm sure all of it helps and adds up.

Thanks G17 you guys are the best!

Im Retired. But that may change..

I would gladly pay Sam and his team, or pay Rockstar to pay them, for a high quality, fully funded LSPDFR. Just think, you could have a whole single player campaign and free-roam mode, real animations and complex missions, and a fully supported multiplayer mode. That's worth 60 bux a copy to me anyway.

In  the modding world, yes, we do many additions and changes on the fly (I mod many games as well) - But in the Indy game dev world, and indeed in the game dev world proper, we develop according to something called a GDD (Game Design Document) - No changes happen that are outside of the GDD anyway, without a huge board meeting and approval from the financiers of the game to change the GDD. This is an unavoidable part of pro game development. So as long as Sam and G17 write the original GDD, and are accurately represented on the board, I would forsee very little to no resistance on Sam and the G17 team so far as creativity would go, especially if we, the community, stand behind him.

What can I say...I'm a dreamer LoL. I'm heavy into the Arma 3 modding scene, and BIS hires from the community and pulls moves like that all day (I mean just look at Day Z). OF course, BIS is way smaller than R*, but you'd think the model would work anywhere...

Thanks to Sam and crew for your work.

I would like to encourage users of this mod to donate via paypal. Even $5. Something. It is such a small price to pay for the many many hours you have had with the LCP and LSD mods up till now, and for hours to come.
