LSPDFR 0.2 - The Police Computer

Featured Replies

So is there a possibility we'll bump in to one of our old characters from FCRP?

If so that's maybe one of the cutest things I've ever heard of haha.

I can see it now.

Subject Name: Ben D. Johnston

Notes: Wanted for multiple stabbings across the LCPDFR TeamSpeak Server. Suspect is believed to be armed with a pen.

  • Nice.  Can't wait to make sure I plug plate-checker into it, at the least.

  • You should know better by now.

Wait, there was actually a countdown before? Quite odd that I didn't notice it.

Noo. I was the only one who saw it. Must be an issue with my alcohol addiction :-D ;-)

Will the police computer's database be active and working all the time, or only when called by a specific action (e.g. traffic stop, license check)? I recall at one point playing LCPDFR online and we had one person pretending to be dispatch who would do all the police computer name searches, but because they weren't actually the player who had done the traffic stops their PC never returned any results.

Yes, it is active all the time.  It won't be synced across different machines though.

There certainly is.

I don'y like the "L.S.P.D Los Santos County" text.

LSPD is a city PD, it would say "LSPD City of Los Santos", if it now is "Los Santos County" it would be "L.S.S.D Los Santos County".

But AFAIK that text is from that mission where you control T in that heli to steal that car, and if you made it it's okay since Rockstar fucked up all the police logos/emblems/structure/Vehicle design/patches and badges in the first place.

Like these two mighty examples:

Technically there's nothing wrong with the LSPD logo we use.  LS is in LS County.

I mean, it isn't perfect, but we can't use our own logos just yet.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

With the whole idea of the computer and searching individual ped information, has the issue where peds never had any sort of info on them unless you targeted them or spawned them in been bypassed with a trick or have you made some sort of solution which has fixed the problem altogether?

This is amazing!

Just one question Sam, will we be able to detain and get names from walking peds in the next version? Or is this all still applying to traffic stops?

What I mean is like, if we see a guy in an alley can we approach him, get ID and run that through?

I'm afraid that isn't quite possible just yet, which is a shame. It'd be great to question a random ped on the street, get his id, frisk him, and if he has maybe drugs, arrest him. But i think Sam said that is not quite possible just yet.

This was a picture same posted the other day or so as a teaser, so i'm hoping you're wrong (obviously no disrespect)

I asked above if the issue has been fixed, all we can do is wait for a reply.

Off Topic: On the mini map there's a police station at the life guard station, this was one of the suggestions from the forum.

If that is indeed the case, then i'll be over the moon. That is my most wanted feature right now, because i loved the feature that i could search and question whoever i wanted in LCPDFR. This indeed looks promising. Hopefully along with the id request, you can also frisk them. Also tell them to leave the area, like in LCPDFR, the callout where there were homeless dudes lying on the ground, i told them to move along and they did. This would really help in GTA V, especially with the people who are drinking in public.

A lot of people voiced their opinions (including myself) about the fact we don't care if there's no dialogue or animations for certain actions at the time, and I hope they've pushed through with that because as soon as you get the ped ID's and registration plates you get the random 'flags' which more or less creates an amazing amount of opportunity for policing, doesn't leave you waiting for action, but let's you get right in there and makes you feel like the worlds got more life to it and you're invading people's life and making a difference, not just chasing red blips you should try arrest or just shoot because yay, action.

This is going to be SUCH a great addition! I also love the fact that we'll be able to receive the ped's ID card and such as mentioned in the last preview post. I can't wait to see more call outs, since pursuit in progress and  Grand Theft Auto calls are great for Highway Patrol, but not for other police agencies.

Yep, agree with you 100%. Just being able to frisk every ped and ask for their id and find out if they are wanted or not, will already give a lot more to do and more life to the game.

Please make arresting subject easier. It's like 50 steps and they always run away before you can finish a simple 1 click arrest would be nice.
