GamingXSportXClub got a reaction from ziipzaaapM16A4 in [11/29/16] GTAIV Patch 8 Notes (PC Only)I understand that and agree, but I think i'd rather have a GTA 4 with the bugs from 1.0.7.0 but with all the supported mods that were made for it instead of a more stable GTA 4 with no mods.
Fingers crossed Alexander Blade updates the script-hook so we can get the best of both worlds.

GamingXSportXClub reacted to ineseri in The low rider updateAgain, it's free content and free patches. Something they said would happen and which you'd agreed to when buying the license for the game. It's really not a big deal. Yes, it's tedious to reinstall a few mods, but it's really not the end of the world.

GamingXSportXClub reacted to SeaHawk14 in The low rider updateOh dear, you don't know much do you? A RageHook plugin was literally released yesterday at 16:00 yesterday, the authors don't take long at all to create a new RageHook plugin. And it's not "fucking impossible" to back it up, literally most people do, so that the game can be played. I haven't because I'm not addicted to playing a game, but as far as I'm aware RageHook offers to back up the current game. It's literally one of the first things shown when the plugin is installed! A message appears saying "important alert" and asks if you want to back up the game. So, download the new RageHook plugin, this time read carefully what it says, it offers to make a back-up. Create the back up and that should prevent your current situation
Edit:
What did I say?
Literally exactly what I said, you can backup your game "to revert to a previous game version if the game is updated". So before having a tantrum and hating Rockstar for creating something that most people are excited about, I really do suggest you look through the RageHook plugin settings
Originally I said that the vehicle mods wouldn't be affected, turns out I was wrong. Apologies, the mods folder prevents the game being launched, and causes it to crash, it's due to some older files not being compatible with the new vehicles or something, so unfortunately that means the mods need to be reinstalled and the handling etc. as well. Although if Lundy managed to edit the files and keep the mods then that would be interesting to know how he managed.

GamingXSportXClub reacted to Solidefiance in It's a good day for GTA:O Players - It's not so good for us..Unless you can cite a credible source that remotely says Rockstar "hates" modders and all that mumbo jumbo you're spewing, all you're really doing is talking out of your ass. Last time I checked GTA Online is free, the Shark Cards are completely optional and aren't needed to play, or have fun with the game. You also stated you played GTA:O for 2 years, yet apparently it's pointless in your own words. So what is it? Pointless or something that you actually found fun given you sunk 2 years into it? Don't be a hypocrite.
What actions prove that they're targeting the modders? Are you seriously arguing something that is FREE, would you rather them charge money for all the content drops they've released thus far? I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but any moron arguing against free content is just that, a moron.GTA IV was god awful, they didn't support that game whatsoever, they received backlash from the PC crowd because of this, they literally ported the game and dropped a huge unfinished turd onto the PC's doorstep, awful, awful optimization, piss poor support all around. Then, they release GTA V, a complete 180 turn. They're constantly doing updates, fixes, content releases despite the game being nearly 3 years old now. To add onto this, GTA V broke numerous records....one of them being the most sold game so far. This means the console's alone generated more than enough money for Rockstar to not even have to release the game on PC, or even update, fix, or do any of what they're doing now.
ArmA is not a good example of mod support, at all - if anything it's a bad example. And by the way, patches for ArmA 3 do break mods, not all of them, but it most certainly does break some of them dependent on the mod. ArmA relies heavily on mod authors to create content for their games, in fact a general argument that floated around was the only reason ArmA sold the way it did to a rather niche market is because of the DayZ mod. A huge fundamental part of ArmA is the fact that modding is generally what makes the game fun, which isn't necessarily a good thing, nor a bad thing at the same time, however there is something to be said where the only redeemable quality to your game is the fact that mods are the reason your game stays afloat isn't necessarily a good one.
Last but not least, you have to be incredibly naive to think Rockstar would spend their development resources on creating additional content years later for all the platforms to specifically target a minority group modding their single player experience. It took me about an hour (using the mod folder method), to add certain stuff back in (granted I basically modded 80% of the game too, so), it was a small inconvenience and really isn't worth getting bent out of shape for. Also, I spent about $10 bucks on a couple Shark Cards, mostly because I don't have the time like I used to anymore juggling a wife and a newborn son, however I thoroughly enjoy GTA:O with friends, does this make me a kid?

GamingXSportXClub reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.3 Announcement + First PreviewAfter a short break from the non-stop development of the first couple of versions of LSPDFR, we're really excited to officially announce the next installment in the series - LSPDFR 0.3. As you might have come to expect, LSPDFR 0.3 takes strongly after its predecessors, introducing a big bunch of groundbreaking new features and gameplay.
With actually only a few weeks of development, it is amazing how far this next version of LSPDFR has come, and the extent of fresh, new content and possibilities that it offers.
You asked, we listened. Arresting suspects has been drastically improved, especially with the brand new addition of interactive cuffing - no guns required!
With 0.3, we've taken the time to rebuild some of the core mechanics of the modification, particularly as it comes to arresting suspects. With a brand new interactive system, you can now easily and seamlessly place stopped suspects in handcuffs. The animations for this are incredibly fluid, as is the way in which the process works, with interactivity being a key component. In 0.3, when you arrest someone, there's a very tangible feeling of control - a massive improvement from earlier versions where, due to a reliance on normal playback, it could often feel as though you had been taken out of the game as you waited for an animation to finish.
The Vapid Police Interceptor makes its LSPDFR debut in 0.3. Well, with our entirely new and seriously powerful XML based backup unit customization, so does every other vehicle (and ped) in your game too!
We'll be sharing more about the features and changes in LSPDFR 0.3 over the next week or so, as we take a more in-depth look at what 0.3 brings to the table, including the full Downtown Police Station interior, amazingly improved interaction with suspects, and much more!

GamingXSportXClub reacted to Stealth22 in My Thoughts on V ModelingI've tried to stay out of this as much as I could. But I really don't get why there are arguments going back and forth here. I really could not care less if a model was locked or not, really. I mean, seriously, who cares?!
It doesn't make any difference to a consumer whether a vehicle is locked or not. I agree (to an extent) that it can restrict new modellers from having a high quality model to learn from. But I really don't get the "Us VS Them" mentality here. We're supposed to be one community, not one small "elite" group, and then "everyone else".
I don't mind if a modeller wants to protect his work. In fact, being a script developer, I completely understand it. I don't necessarily agree that ripping a model from another game makes it "yours", but, I digress. The thing that I have a problem with is when a modeller releases a WIP gallery image, and then says "Oh by the way, this model is never going to be released." Well then, why in the hell did you even tell us about it? To inflate your ego? If you're waiting on a so-called "locking" feature, well...its not against the rules to release said screenshot (as opposed to posting a picture of something that you have no intention of ever releasing), but why not wait, then? If I was a 3D modeller, and I had vehicles in the works, but I wanted to lock them, personally, I would keep quiet on the matter. It just avoids the confrontations altogether. No one knows you have anything in progress, and then when a locking feature arrives, suddenly, you're a hero because you just released 3 different vehicles.
I have not kept myself updated on the whole "lock feature" situation. But even if Oleg implements some sort of feature in Zmodeler that prevents re-importing a model, I hope that all modellers know that it would not be a 100% guarantee. People have been getting past licensing/activation locks in software for years, including software by Microsoft and Adobe. So your little Zmodeler lock...don't expect it to stop everyone, is all I am saying. Like, if a YFT filter for say, 3DS MAX or whatever comes along...it may or may not look for Zmodeler's lock flag, right?
But all that aside, if you want to lock your models, sure, be my guest. But there are just two things that I have a problem with. Firstly, what if this "lock" feature never comes? Hypothetically, if there is absolutely no way to lock your models, are you just never going to release them? Because that would definitely "deprive" the community, as others have been talking about.
And secondly...if you're going to lock models, that shouldn't mean that new modellers should never get to use your work in some fashion. Personally, I think that releasing a locked model and denying permission to use it when anyone asks, is wrong. If you've got custom parts on there, I can understand the desire to have it locked. But when someone asks you, "Can I use your vehicle as a starting point to work with?" and offers to credit you, don't say no. Maybe give them an unlocked version of the car with no lightbar or other police parts on it? I am not saying that there should be a "rule" that "veteran modellers have to help out new modellers", but we should avoid having an "elite" group of modellers that have access to all the good vehicle models.
I am just a "script dev" to most of you. But I do have some "modelling" experience, if you can call it that. I was one of those "glue and stick" guys who would ask an experienced modeller for permission to use their vehicle as a base, and then take a publicly available lightbar, create the dummies for the lights, and presto, I'd have my own "vehicle". For those who are old enough to remember Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (the old one, Need for Speed III, not the new one) and NFS High Stakes, remember CarCAD? Those were the days. I also used to play around a little with GTA:SA models, just for myself. I'd take an unlocked DFF, and see what I could change around with it. But I never actually released anything.
So I do know, and can appreciate the effort it takes to model a vehicle. I'm not trying to take sides here, in fact, I'm trying to question the need to even take sides!
Whether a vehicle is locked or not, doesn't really affect anyone much. But at the same time, modellers should still be willing to release some things unlocked, or at least, provide unlocked versions of higher quality models (with custom parts removed, if desired) when a new modeller asks permission to use a vehicle.
The issue is not whether models should be locked or not. That should not be debated at all here.
The real issue is, we need to avoid creating an "elite" group of people who have access to a greater selection of resources. I don't remember what the sites were called, but I remember back in the days of NFS High Stakes, I could go into the "Development Resources" section of the downloads area, and there were subsections in there. One for vehicle models, where you could find unlocked versions of CVPI's, Caprices and god knows what else. It may not have been the best CVPI model, but it was definitely decent. And if you wanted to use the best locked CVPI model out there made by "Bob Smith", you just ask Bob, and most of the time, he was more than willing to help!
You could take a vehicle, then you could take a lightbar, then you could find rambars, laptops, prisoner cages, and all sorts of different parts. You take all those parts, you take CarCAD or Zmodeler, you put them together, and, presto, as a new modeler, you just made your first car!
And for those modellers who scratch-make a lightbar, and don't want to (understandably so) release it unlocked to the public, maybe there should be a stickied thread in the Modding section. This thread would have links or screenshots of the various vehicle models, lightbars, and other parts out there that are available:
This CVPI was made by Modder A, it is unlocked, and can be downloaded here.
This CVPI was made by Modder B. It is locked, but he has indicated that anyone who wishes to use it can send him a PM.
This lightbar was made by Modder C. It is locked, but he has indicated that anyone who wishes to use it can send him a PM.
(and so on)
THOSE are the days that I miss. Where anyone who wanted to learn how to put a vehicle together had unlimited resources to do so.
TL;DR
Modellers - Lock your stuff if you want, but remember it ain't always going to stop every ripper out there. Oh, and if you're never going to release something to the public, just never let us know it exists. And please, help out the new guys, will ya? If someone asks to use your locked model, don't just keep it to yourself.
Consumers and new modellers - It won't make a difference whether a model is locked or not. It will still run in your game. And if you'd like to use a lightbar or a vehicle that is locked, just ask. Veteran modellers are people too.
Why can't we be friends...

GamingXSportXClub reacted to JFavignano in My Thoughts on V Modelingmy question to you is this, if someone uses something you made and gives you credit for it then why can't they release the model? I just don't get the whole credit thing to begin with, I have many mods for flight simulation as well as ETS2 and never once did I say make sure you credit me. I said enjoy! That is the whole point of modding is it not?
-
GamingXSportXClub reacted to JFavignano in My Thoughts on V ModelingI agree 100% I have never understood the mindset of modders showing off their work when they never intend to share it. I find it quite frustrating to see how the end of the GTA IV era was handled in this department. If you don't want to share with the community and build relationships with each other then what is the point? We are all here because we all love the same thing. I have zero tolerance with people that must accrue all the credit constantly, don't get me wrong I appreciate the hard work of modders (being a consumer) and I voice that on videos I create when I do use them. The ego trip that can come from making virtual cars has been so outrageous in the past that I stopped using their mods and focused on the more humble bunch. Ah well my 0.02

GamingXSportXClub got a reaction fromDeactivated Memberin Casual handcuff animation?Wouldn't it be best to have the options to put someone in cuffs when they raise their hands stood up, or keep pressing E till they get down on their knees, and arrest them the way it is now?
you could see it as telling someone to put there hands up, then pushing E again tells them to get on their knees.

GamingXSportXClub got a reaction from BigB79 in kia....You're best getting a trainer, as these help with a lot of stuff like this, they also let you change your ped to ANY of the peds or animals in games, so you can get some pretty cool combinations of peds and change their textures and such.
https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/enhanced-native-trainer
This one is by far the best one, it lets you spawn vehicles and weapons just like all the others, but you can mod your vehicle on the spot, changing it's colour, window tints and all that kinda stuff.

GamingXSportXClub reacted to CouthInk4 in LSPDFR SuggestionsAfter playing LSPDFR for a few days, I've come up with a few ideas for future releases for LSPDFR,
1. Missing Persons callout - Could use the same type of method as the hunting mini game in terms of the area search, you get a call to a specific area (preferably mountain range/desert), either a relative or friend (NPC character) gives you a description of the missing person, you have a marked area you need to search and depending on the time it takes to find the person, they'll be dead (possibly mauled to death by a Cougar), or badly injured.
2. Burglaries - now with enterable interiors these can be possible, you get a call of a panic alarm at a local gas station or clothing store and depending on the time it takes to get there the suspect will either still be in the process of robbing the place, just leaving or already left and you have to find him (Similar to the callout from LukeD Callout+ script in IV).
3. Officer Distress - This call is assisting an officer that needs help, whether it be he needs a secondary unit in a traffic stop, or he is badly injured and needs officers to help Code 3.
4. K9 feature - As GTA V has finally featured dogs, the LSPD/LSSD can now have a K9 unit. a K9 unit would be useful in a pursuit when a suspect is running, the dog can chase after the suspect and pin him down. they could also be useful in finding a suspect who is hiding or help out with the Missing Person callout i have mentioned.
5. more insignia options - self explanatory, add more insignia options to the character selection menu (PO III, PO III+1, Sergeant, Detective 1, Detective 2 etc).
6. Add more jail locations - so far there is only one available location which doesn't really help when you arrest a suspect on the other side of LS.
7. option to pull out or cancel a pursuit - I'm not sure about the US but here in Australia if a pursuit gets too dangerous the officers need to pull out/call off the pursuit. Something like that would be realistic especially if the pursuit gets dangerous and the suspect starts plowing through a bunch of civilians.
8 - add an ingame officer name - I believe this was implemented with LCPDFR 1.1 (judging by the ingame officer name option in profile settings) this would be a nice reutrn
9 - More interactive/realistic things - requesting road blocks, callouts set to a specific character (SWAT calls left to NOoSE, drug busts left to DOA etc), a taser that doesn't kill people, armory so you can choose what firearms you want (customize your handgun with a different colour, flashlight etc), able to choose M4, shotgun etc. and the ability to choose another vehicle if your car gets to damaged (return to an LSPD/LSSD precinct and gives you the option to choose/grab another car.
10 - Add armour automatically, Most american law enforcement officers wear body armour underneath their uniform for obvious reasons, so having armour will be a great addition (and it'll stop you from dying instantly in a shootout)
-
GamingXSportXClub reacted to Dylan02 in Draggable Corpses SuggestionTo add onto that,it would be cool to beat someone into fading consciousness and drag them to a paddywagon.

GamingXSportXClub got a reaction from ShadyCB in LSPDFR 0.2 Delay Update - 13 JulyI may be wrong, but i'm guessing 23:00 as it's an hour behind 'British time' and everyday an update has been released (which has been classed as a big one) it's always been dead on 00:00 Uk time.
