  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

So I was wondering, not taking in count that we don't have access to everything yet,
is there anything (code...) reusable from LCPDFR for LSPDFR?

My guess would be not really, only the experience with coding with GTAIV remains.

The same guy from GTAForums.

depends on what changes in the RAGE engine between GTA IV & GTA V, being that the same engine was used on almost every GTA Game a few others. but heavily upgraded and changed each game. but im not a coder or modder or anything close so idk.

At this stage, not really.

Is the goal to recreate LCPDFR piece by piece, or make the mod from the ground up with the concept of LCPDFR in mind?

To recreate LCPDFR piece by piece would take months - we want to be in the position to release something relatively quickly, but not make it feel like a really incomplete or unauthentic thing.  So, for now, we've started with nothing and have been adding some LCPDFR inspired concepts.  This should hopefully let us occupy the centre ground for a bit and give everyone a taste of the LCPDFR experience, with the small details, that they've come to know

In the long term, the RAGE plugin hook is developed in such a way that the syntax is idential/as similar as possible to that of the SHDN hook for GTA IV.  Once sufficiently completed, it should theoretically be possible to port parts of LCPDFR over or use parts of LCPDFR as a base, especially the very powerful engine which it was built on for 1.0 and above.

all of the excitement...gah...cant wait

As it says when creatng a post in this topic; Please do not ask for LSPDFR release dates or updates, we've already stated that LSPDFR will be released when it's done and updates will be released when we have something to show. Thank you.

I understand about the updates/release dates thing. I am curious about the GTA online part? What are your plans? My guess is that you won't be able to make it compatible with GTA Online. Or do you plan to talk to R* about it?

I'm pretty sure they wont make online support and IIRC, they told us that they would try and stay away from R*.

Yeah agreed. R* is a pain in the ass to deal with. I don't really care if never goes online. SP with mods beats the boring repetitive Online any day!

itd be cool to have the option to drive up to a marker to either drop off a suspect...or go inside a station ( with that open doors mod) and maybe fill out a basic (optional) info sheet on the suspect to process them

Yeah, this is something I always wanted in LCPDFR. At least the part of filling out an arrest report. Now with the police station interior, we could bring them in and have that optional arrest report! Perhaps the option to attach evidence to it. Any weapon we pick up could be classed as evidence in an inventory type thing, and we could get rud of it by putting it in the station or attach it to an arrest report. We should probably have to take a handcuffed suspect to the front desk in the lobby, fill out an optional arrest report, then take them down to the cells. The same thing could be done for the opened up Sheriff stations, but after filling out the report the suspect disappears since there are no accessible cells there

I dont care if LSPDFR wont work in multiplayer, the most inporten is sp.. but ofcourse if it ever happen, it would be fun to play LSPDFR with friends.. but i have low hopes for that.. sorry my crapy english :D

Sam i was thinking on some more callouts ideas..

1. A soldier/army man is going "crazy" (post-traumatic stress) and shooting at people (could be drunk too or on drugs, so he will be unstable, could be driving around too)

2. Same as above, but trying to kill him self. (like the suicide callout in GTA IV)

3. smuglers on seas or on the harbours :)

4. Kidnapping in progress, could be merc's or bikers kidnapping someone to get money.

Another thing i thought about, if you could be a MP (Military police man) that would be cool to, with some base duty and maybe special calls only for MP's.

best regards and looking forwards for some news ;)

@FinKone maybe you could script this in the future..kinda like ticket time..but a basic intake form or something aha!!!!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, I love ticket time for that reason too

Nothing will feel more immersive than standing Beside a sports car on the great ocean highway in a Los Santos Highway Patrol uniform while a storm goes on in the dead of night, actually filling out a speeding ticket while the lights of your bike flash behind you.

Or in first person, coming in after a DUI stop, LSPD uniform all wet as you walk a drunk suspect who fled from you to the front desk, filling out an arrest report and then hauling his ass to the drunktank for the time being.

Needless to say I'm very excited for LSPDFR, the current cop mods don't reallt tide you over that much for the mean time, they fill the gap just about!

With all due respect, I did not ask for a release date or updates. I was very precise in my wording, and I asked for a list of features that you guys plan on having in the initial release of LSPDFR. Sam has made a post before saying that you guys are pretty set in stone about your ideas. That being said, why can't you tell us? We've been pretty loyal, surely we can be told what ideas you guys have since you already have plans. Sorry if this is just another bother to you guys (Definitley not my intent), and best of luck developing :D

Loyalty unfortunately doesn't buy them anything, keep in mind that they don't receive anything for their work, therefore they don't owe us a thing.
That being said, let's not forget what was mentioned before; The more we want and ask from the dev's, the longer it will take them to release a playable build for us.

Loyalty may not buy them anything, but it means something. There's already a police mod out there that we could all use, but instead we wait. And I'm not asking for much, just a features list which has already been planned out. I'm asking for 5 minutes of their time for a single post. And that post doesn't even need a lot of effort, just for them to type the plans they have. I'm not asking for them to make new ones, just what they have (Can't stress that enough). I'm not asking for much

No, but you are asking for precisely what we tell you not to ask for, updates. What we've released so far is what we have in this thread and over on; http://www.lcpdfr.com/lspdfr/
