  1. Seeing the footage, it really does feel like it is ready for a public testing release. Though my guess is that they want the first release to be as stable as possible (just like with LSPDFR). It got to be really annoying telling people "alright, here's a beta, this and that are broken we're going to fix it soon" and yet people still gonna bug you off with "hey, this and that is broken". I have no idea if anyone knows where I'm going with that heh.
  2. The original author kinda stopped working on it, and apparently another guy was going to continue his work but I guess it never happened.
  3. Apparently it's hardcoded somewhere. At least, it's not just replacing a texture or something. Someone made a all blue lightbar with the default GTAV lightbar so that's cool (I would have liked to see how it was made though). There's also ELS being worked on, hopefully an alpha/beta will be released soon.
  4. Hoping that we will still allow releases here despite this locked option. Let's be honest, what most people here want is simply to use these models so yeah, that would only prevent us to enjoy these (even though all we would have to do is to go on another website).
  5. Apparently yes, there's a version of ELS for GTAV being worked on and tested. No ETA yet though.
  6. You can't copyright something you don't own. They claim ownership for the conversion, which I personally respect as it takes quite some work, but they can't claim ownership of the model, brand and name.
  7. Well of course I would not be able to release it as my own mod, I don't know if the original author would be okay with that (with credits of course), I technically made this to do some testing/personal use. Maybe PMing someone would be okay. It's not entirely working yet, and I think my license for Zmodeler 3 expired and I have no way to buy one so.. yup, I now have a 900Mb folder filled with stuff :p
  8. I modified his model a week ago to make it a police version. I didn't bother finishing it though.
  9. Perhaps you should give more details in your request to get a better to get an answer.
  10. The worst is that apparently, even the old locking thing was far from being effective. Sure you couldn't just drag the file back in Zmodeler, but it was possible to get around it, and apparently it would also be the same for GTAV. So.. waiting for a lock thing that will only be placebo? Err..
  11. Looks like a good start to me, keep the good work bro!
  12. It's always a pleasure to me!
  13. If you get a message like this, just right click on it and hit "unblock". It's a common issue lately. EDIT: Apparently there was a big problem with the download. I updated the file with the "Single File" update, and the download should also be working now. Thanks!
  14. Yup that's totally possible, there weren't much custom skins when the mod was regularly updated. I guess I'll release a small update with a separated file to be directly added to any .wtd so you guys can keep your custom skins :)
  15. Could you please elaborate? This mod wasn't updated in a little while and a best way to install it might be possible, I just haven't looked into it yet.

Thanks bro!
  16. Thanks for the link, I missed that!
  17. So what's the source of that? Who made this? Or is it an edited video ;)
  18. I have mixed thoughts on the subject. I do strongly think that we, as modders or as simply "consumers" of these mods, should respect the work done by someone. I also understand why it would piss such creator to see his model re-released (modified or not) by someone else without being asked before. Then comes the legal stuff. I'm pretty sure none of us can claim a true ownership of these models. The look, the name and all of this stuff related to these vehicles is owned by those brands, even if you create it yourself. To them, that would be the same as if you'd make an exact replica in your garage of a Ford Crown for instance: it would be a counterfeit. Then again, these models are obviously not sold, but what legal right do you have to lock these models? (even technically to make and use them). I hope these talented modders will release their models, I hope no one will try to rip em off, but please, let's find the middle ground or something.
