Model Issues

Featured Replies

I'm a complete newbie at Zmodeler and I just finished up my LASD based Caprice, all looks great but I've ran into some texture issues, as shown in the images below. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does the game must be restarted to fix the issue.

What causes this and how the heck do I fix it?

Hmmm, I also got that while making the Biff Snow Plow and RAM 3500 Snow Plow featured in some of my recent gallery uploads.

In my case though, I just used the Modify -> Attach tool, and attached the snow plow to bumper_f, and that seemed to fix it.

Though, re-importing the base model, has worked for me, at times.

There are too many high poly parts attached to each other. I'm not quite sure if it's to do with the model size, but all the L1/L2's are the same as the L0's. On my 94 Caprice I deleted the majority of the L2's and left just the chassis_L2. I believe this reduced the model size and I didn't encounter any errors like this when I was making my Caprice.

That's what I was thinking. The car with all the equipment is about 3.5MB total, which is ridiculous.

I've removed most of the L2's, and it cut down over a MB in file size. I'm going to do some more testing and hopefully figure things out. I really appreciate the help guys.

I noticed this problem when I had too many misc_[letter]s, along with an "Invalid resource detected" crash when spawning the model. I think there was misc_a - misc_e on the default model, then misc_s - misc_z on my modded model. After reducing that down a lot, it never seemed to have a problem.

I've pretty much given up as it's causing an RC20 now. I may go over the base model and fix the materials, L2's and misc files mentioned above, but for now, it's dead and probably will be for quite some time.

I apologise to anyone who was looking forward to the model, I was looking forward to releasing it but it's completely fucked.

My apologizes for that. The model worked fine for me, but Lundy reported having the issues shown above so I've taken it down until I can fix it.

Fair enough. Why does this website direct to a blank page rather than a "This file has been removed." or similar page. That is my suggestion.

Cheers.

It's sitting in our Hidden Category, usually a "No Permissions" error would appear but lately it just seems to redirect to a blank page.

This is one of the issues with the site at the moment, but the development team is working on a fix.

It could be because you have too many dummies on the model.

Anyway, Lund sent me the car, I will take a look when I've got a while - I had that error happen to me a couple of times.
