I was having crashes after an hour or so and it was impossible to play longer than 1 hour. I mean on GTA 4 crashes in which whole game restart is required. I couldn't play with ELS as that would make a game crash after 15 mins. So I could only play with game vehicles as police cruisers or non-els cars but was still getting random crashes.

 

Please note that every single mod was installed correctly. The solution I found was to run default police vehicles (it might get boring after a while but hey, you can play without any stopping. Besides, you have enough vehicles to choose from). As extra modifications to the game, trainer and script mods such as Callouts, Indicators, etc along with modified police siren. No ped/weapon/cars and absolutely no GFX mods.

 

Maybe somebody will find this useful. Please note that random crashes in scripts you have might still occur as that's based on how well script was made and did you do something to make it crash. 

I agree with that:) The only thing that I use modified default non-ELS cars and ped mods, but still, it allows me to play as long as I want (just some rare script errors pop up). For now I installed som Yard1's car just to test them, and switchin back to defaults.

Indeed, why would you ever use anything other than the default cars to start with? :)

Why should this work? Because, I don't know about ya'll, but I was crashing all the time because of officers constantly responding throughout the city. And this popcycle reduces the amount of officers resonding throughout the city.

It seems to work for me....I barely ever crash.

Yeah, everything is very stable if you don´t use modded cars, els and other graphics enhancements ...

But me personally I ´d rather play 20 minutes with smooth graphics, realistic road textures, high polly police vehicles with ELS and realistic ped mods than 2 hours with nothing modded at all ... but that is just my opinion

i think the default police cars on GTA IV seems boring to me thats why I mod and mostly crashes but when GTA V for PC comes out I will defintaly not mod the police cars the default tarus and crown vic looks amazing already :)

I can last 1-2 hrs, fully modded,lots of crap in the scripts folder, cryenb. I also get 35-50 fps while recording. I don't have a really great computer so I find this really weird. Turning down ambient stuff in lcpdfr and policehelper(if u have that) also really helps.

Only time I was crashing was with ELS with AI on. Had to turn it off.

The only drawback with non-els cars for me is the absence of a decent non-ELS paddy wagon. You just can't patrol in that Police Stockade.

Strongly agree with policehelper. That thing was giving me many many crashes, usually game crashes rather than script.

HOLY SHIT! This just in!! Modding a game makes it more unstable!!

 

We did it, guys. HL3 confirmed!

I have almost everything modded, only the cop car slots though and an ENB. I average around two hours before a crash.

I can play for about 7 minutes during peak hours, on my beast of a PC.
