JerryKan reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.3 - November UpdateThis is the sixth part of our LSPDFR 0.3 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.3, check out the previous installments here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/forum/880-news-updates/
Continuing with the idea of posting regular updates on our progress with 0.3 on Tuesdays, we're back with a look at what's to come in the next version of LSPD First Response.
First of all, let me very quickly pay attention to the success of the mod so far - we've surpassed the half-million mark in terms of total downloads, and despite there only having been two releases, you can clearly tell that everyone is still as engaged and excited as ever, awaiting what the future holds. Especially nice to see has been the flurry of suggestions and ideas that have been floated around by so many people throughout the community, and you can be sure that we're really looking forward to delivering LSPDFR 0.3, which features many of them.
In an interesting twist, one of the new features coming to 0.3 is actually something that we don't think has been suggested much. When developing the final versions of LCPDFR, we invested some time in creating a development system which basically turned LCPDFR upside down, putting the player in the position of a criminal being chased by the police. This turned out to be a vital tool for us when testing police pursuits, with the rationale being that if the cops could chase the player, they'd have no problems at all chasing non-player characters.
This system has actually been present in all versions of LSPDFR, although it was a last minute addition and therefore very rough around the edges, which might explain why it was tucked away as an 'Easter egg' (one that I won't spoil for those of you who haven't found it). In tandem with the development of our new pursuit logic, we also re-created the ability to be chased by the police, ensuring that our logic was designed both for players and peds. Therefore, while off duty with 0.3, you now have the option to hand over control of any pursuing officers during a wanted level to LSPDFR - making it so that you will be chased in exactly the same way that all other suspects are.
It's fair to say that the results of this can be staggering (literally)!
Perhaps it is also worth mentioning as well - while there's a massive number of big new features making their way to LSPDFR 0.3, we've also been making an effort to pay attention to the little details in a number of areas, including things like smoother animations and improved backup spawning positions.
Indeed, one cool example of this is the new 'hand on holster' animation that we've added in LSPDFR 0.3. Unlike some other ways of doing this, the player's body isn't rigidly locked, meaning that character body movement is actually properly synchronized with player movement. This also acts as a really cool way to draw your weapon, as the transition from holding at the holster to aiming down the sights is seamless.

JerryKan reacted to zoogenhiemer in [WIP] 2012 Ford Police Interceptor UtilityOK, a quick update. Sorry for the radio silence. I had to deal with a horrific normal issue due to a bug in zmodler, which ate up a bunch of time and cause a lot of rework (lost a lot of sleep, hair, etc dealing with that one ;) ), but that task is done now and bodywork looks great. I still have a long list of bugs to get through but I did manage to get my liberty II light bar in a working state with EVL. I also made a traffic advisor for the back, Here is a video of my first sucessful lighting test. The emergency lighting and siren is controlled by EVL, as well as the alley lights. The spot and takedown low beam, are extra lights 1 and 2.

JerryKan reacted to GRAW in [WIP] LAPD/LASD/CHP FPIU (2014)Just please promise you'll fix (not optimize) the template in the future. It's ridiculous to use the same location for two different areas or just not mark objects [like spotlights].

JerryKan reacted to Bxbugs123 in Check out ELS for V!Here are the fact's.
ELS V is being made by Lt.Caine with help, support & testing from Me(Bxbugs123 & PoliceWag) no one else is testing it at this time.
The CVPI is this video is by Me(Bxbugs123)
DoctorGTA doesn't have ELS he will never be a tester of Lt.Caine's ELS, anyway he's banned from lcpdfr. He is just using the defaults with coronas removed to simulate that he has ELS to fool people.
EDIT: (6/21/2016) Prophet & GravelRoadCop are now apart of the testing team.

JerryKan reacted to Black Jesus in [WIP] 2012 Ford Police Interceptor UtilityJust a suggestion for when you further along this project. I would map it to bxbugs's/policefanatic's FPIU template so people can use existing skins and not have to deal with another template. Good luck sir

Executive action on immigration. What does that mean exactly?
It's a way for the president to make a major change to immigration policy without consulting Congress, and this one could ease the fears of many undocumented immigrants … for now.
In an announcement on Thursday, President Obama unveiled a reform plan that will allow 5 million undocumented immigrants to stay in the United States without having to worry about getting deported.

===================================================================================================================== LISTED BELOW are several of the arguments that have been used by misguided people to try and justify illegal immigration. Next to each is the reason why that argument has no merit. They are an economic necessity - Not true. The idea that a bunch of desperately poor, uneducated, unskilled, non-English speaking foreigners are an economic necessity is ludicrous. In fact, when you compare cost vs. benefit, it is obvious that they are not only NOT a necessity, they are not even an asset. Rather, they are a liability and a huge one at that. They do work Americans won’t do - Not true. They do work Americans won’t do for $7 an hour (especially if Americans can collect welfare and unemployment instead). Of course, if you got rid of the illegals, the jobs wouldn’t pay $7 an hour. The people who wanted the work done would have to pay a wage that was attractive enough to get Americans to do the work. And it might even be enough to get Americans off the unemployment and welfare dole and back into the taxpaying workforce! We benefit from all that “cheap” labor - This is nonsense. The only people who benefit from the cheap labor are the unscrupulous people who hire illegal immigrants. Taxpayers are left holding the bag. Ultimately, it is they who must pay to support all the Americans who have been put out of work by illegals and must also provide billions of dollars in services and benefits to the illegals themselves. They are just trying to make better lives - Aren’t we all? The difference is that most of us understand that we DO NOT have a right to acquire by illegal means those things that we find difficult to acquire by legal means. And we certainly don’t have the right to do it in a foreign country. It is impossible to round up and deport the illegals - We don’t have to. All we have to do is remove the incentives that brought them here in the first place. No jobs. No housing. No taxpayer financed services or benefits (including education). Once we remove the incentives that brought them here, they will leave on their own. Immigration control is racist / xenophobic - This is just another play of the race card by people who have no other cards to play. Immigration control is the world-wide status quo. There is nothing racist about it. Furthermore, the USA welcomes LEGAL immigrants of all races and ethnicities from all over the world who have gone through the legal immigration process. This is not just a bad argument, it is an attempt to create racial hatred and division. We are a nation of immigrants - This is the “BIG LIE”. The vast majority of Americans are native-born. I am not an immigrant. Nor were my parents. Nor were my grandparents. We are a nation that has, historically, allowed and even encouraged LEGAL immigration. And we continue to do so. The issue at hand is illegal immigration, which has nothing to do with legal immigration. They are people. We must treat them humanely - Yes & yes. But lets not pretend like they are victims who were dragged here kicking and screaming against their will. Nothing could be further from the truth. They came of their own free will and for their own benefit and they broke the law to do it. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE REWARDED FOR BREAKING LAWS AND COMMITTING CRIMES. SENDING THEM HOME IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. There is nothing “draconian” or “mean-spirited” about it. It is wrong to break up families - Yes. Unfortunately, families are often broken up by criminal activity. If you don’t believe it, just drop by any prison or jail on visiting day. We can’t keep families together if some family members choose to participate in criminal activity. They work & contribute to our society - So do I. And if I break the law and commit crimes, I can expect to pay a penalty of some kind. Anything from a small fine to the death penalty. I do not receive a reward. WHY SHOULD WE TREAT FOREIGN CRIMINALS BETTER THAN OUR OWN CITIZENS? -

JerryKan reacted to sebek91 in New to LCPDFR!I highly recommend vdhpolicehelper and vdh tow truck ! it adds a little bit more scenarios plus it has a fire extinguisher and highly reliable paramedics :)
then if you like realistic handling and damage I highly recommend this mod http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=5529
also if you like realistic emergency lights download ELS V8 and if your going to import new high poly vehicle models into your game download TrafficFlow, because without traffic flow you will get taxi bug ( every civilian car in the city will be a cab )
so those are mods I use, but keep in mind - more mods = more unstable game ...

JerryKan reacted to Illusionyary in Are You Religious, Or Non-Religious?See, this is where I disagree. Humans aren't the only things on the planet, and who knows what lies beyond. If there was such a being who created everything, I doubt he/she/it would give a shit about mankind.

JerryKan reacted to Taxi in Are You Religious, Or Non-Religious?I'm an Atheist. Because i don't see how there could be anyone "up there". If a God exists, that God would need to come from somewhere. Everything has to start somewhere. The way the Bible discribes God is that he is able to destroy whole Citys by magicly casting Rain & Waves and whatnot because he didin't liked the way people acted. THAT means God has moral standards and is able to think about his creations. And he made the Earth and the Sun and Humans. BUT that means God has to be some living form, able to think, able to react and able to form life. Which means..he or IT has to come from somewhere, live somewhere and operate somewhere. + God had to be born first to do all that, or at least been created. Nothing is just "There". Which means he is the Son of another God. Which means we would have an endless chain of Gods. But than again. Gods can't die. Which means all those Gods would still be there.
The whole God system just dosen't makes sense to me. Beliving in God would also mean that EVERYTHING would be possible. How can you belive in a God but call the next guy crazy because he belives in BigFoot? BigFoot would be way more realistic than a God in my thinking, but than again...mabye my thinking is too logical or to "low" for that topic. But thats the way i see it.

JerryKan reacted to Shekure in Are You Religious, Or Non-Religious?I'm a Theist, always have been. Although I support scientific theories, I still believe in a numinous figure. As the saying goes, I'd rather live my whole life assuming there is a God, only to find out that there isn't, than to live my whole life assuming there isn't a God, only to find out there is.

JerryKan reacted to Dippa in LCPDFR: Toy VersionHey, I give the kid an "A" just for being a kid and demonstrating a child’s creative mind. I miss being that age and doing things like that. lol Life was so much simpler. If you don’t have the money to do it on a PC, work with what you have. Great vid kid.
