Random Stop: The last minutes of a 22 years old cop

Jesus christ. If I was that deputy, I'd have shot him right when he pulled out the gun. The vet was obviously not mentally stable...

Rest in peace, Kyle Dinkheller.

    Even for a short film, that was rather disturbing to watch.

wow....probably the most disturbing thing I've ever watched in my life. Hearing him take his last breaths, and his screams.....wow. Definitely disturbing...R.I.P Officer Kyle Dinkheller. Hope his killer burns in hell! Just because you're in the military DOES NOT mean you are above the law.

Ya know. I really didn't know what to comment on this. I've never seen any of this before and it's by far the most disturbing thing I've seen.Why? Because I can relate. I'm sure we all can. We all(for the most part) want a future in this career. It really goes to show that what we're getting into is real and is scary.

Brannan pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but the jury found that the murder of Dinkheller was carried out in a torturous and cruel manner. Brannan was found guilty of murder on January 28, 2000, and was sentenced to death on January 30, 2000. As of August 2013, he is still incarcerated in Georgia, has not been executed, and is appealing his conviction. After being captured, Brannan was asked why he killed Dinkheller. His response was, "Because he let me."

I swear to god those comments in the youtube section piss me off and make me f!cking livid...

The comments on the YouTube vid make me so mad. They are saying "The cop took the first shot, he deserved to die!" OMG, REALLY. The cop was defending himself! And this comment makes me really mad, "OFFICER FIRED FIRST EVERYTHING THE VET DID WWAS SELF DEFENCE I HOPE THE COURT UNDERSTOOD THAT!" Not self defense at all! The cop would not have shot at all if he didn't pull out the gun. So if these guys get pulled over, are they gonna pull out a gun and kill the cop, and say in court, that it was self defense, I hope not. I just wish things like this never happened. One thing the cop should have done though. is call for backup right when he saw that guy flying on that road.

You would be doing yourself a favor by not reading the comment section of Youtube on videos like these(as mentioned earlier). Just speaking from experience, the amount of time I have spent pist off and trying to understand how people could possibly have such a disturbing opinion. I don't believe there is a better way to loose all faith in humanity then to read those comments.

It truly saddens me that this Deputy is no longer with us today.

I've got two things to say about this.. horrific video;

  • From what we've seen, that officer definitely didn't deserve to be shot down like that. You can't drive down the road like maniac, then think that it's the officer's fault for pulling you over. I also feel like the officer should have shot a bit sooner. Once I saw that weapon and realized that he wasn't going to comply and drop it, I would have shot. Regardless of future consequences. No consequence is worse then losing my life. Then the man decides to say that he's a Vietnam combat veteran, as if that excuses the fact that he was recklessly flying down the road. Just because you're a military veteran, doesn't mean that you're above the law.
  • On a separate and off topic note, this type of atmosphere would make for an amazing Police simulator. The graphics, gameplay mechanics, etc.

What some of you dont know is this cop was recently charged (Pentalized, punished, whatever) for false use of his weapon. He hesitated a bit, though right when the guy pulled the rifle out, he could of shot. You also have to realize, this happened in 1999. Now a days, the whole thing would probably change.

As a law enforcement officer, I have been shot at once so far in the line of duty.  Miraculously, none of the bullets that were fired at my partner and I hit their marks that day.  Nothing is worse than being in a life and death gunfight with a hardened criminal who has nothing to lose.  RIP brother.  All gave some, some gave all.

As a law enforcement officer, I never go up to a vehicle without my hand on my gun ready to draw it out of the holster.

And people wonder why cops are jumpy sometimes.
