Player reaction when shot

Recommended Posts

Okay... so.. I know its realistic to have your character react when they are shot but.. when its only happening to me and not my other friends it leaves me at a big disadvantage... is there a way to fix that? I installed LCPDFR .95 RC2 and chose Hardcore(which i believe is where this ragdoll effect when shot is coming from) anyone have any idea other than re-installing the game to counter this?

The ragdoll thing is the game engine, can't change that. Hardcore only means you'll die faster (essentially). It's meant to be more realistic. I roll hardcore because I got tired of rolling up to shots fired and being Rambo and wasting like 12 perps and taking a billion bullets.

So why would it be then that I have a ragdoll when my other players do not?

No, GTA doesn't make you ragdoll when shot. It's hardcore mode doing that; just turn it off to stop it.

OHHHH. I understand this now. I thought he meant in general.

Now I get it. it's the "drunk stumble" when you're shot. I get it. I apologize. I thought he meant ragdolling in general (like when you hit people and stuff)

Ask your friends / the other players if they have Hardcore On.

If they don't have it On, then they won't ragdoll when shot.

If they do have it On, then they should ragdoll when shot & you should be able to see them ragdoll too (& you'll see them ragdoll exactly how they ragdoll in their screen too).

They have Hardcore set to on in the ini, but they did not install lcpdfr .95rc-2 with it checked, so did that install something that is irritating the fuck outta me?

So, if I understand you correct, they had Hardcore set to on, but then installed LCPD:FR 0.95 RC-2 with Hardcore option off (check box unticked)?

If that's the case then their Hardcore mode is Off.

Tell them to go to the FirstResponse.ini (located in root GTA:IV folder / scripts) & change Hardcore to True (Hardcore = True).

This will turn on their Hardcore mode, & therefore whenever they're shot, they will ragdoll (even in MP).

You silly little puppet... They have it enabled in FirstResponse.ini , they didnt install it with it originally enabled, which leads me to believe fucking lcpdfr installed something else with that check box clicked

Dont try to limit my first amendment, if I want to curse I can fucking curse

The First Amendment is irrelevant here - it would apply if a US governmental agency were trying to limit speech, but last I checked, LCPDFR.com isn't a US governmental agency. Furthermore, even governmental officials are allowed to *ask* you not to say something; there can be issues when governmental officials are issuing veiled threats ("Don't say this or else"), but someone asking you not to curse can really never violate the First Amendment, especially when no one involved is acting on behalf of a US governmental agency.

Excessive profanity is not allowed on this site, and will lead to consequences if you continue. Furthermore, insulting those who are trying to help you is not a good way to get support. You aren't entitled to have people help you out; they do so because they like helping people, and no one likes being called a "puppet" or cursed at.
