  • How about if you have a certain amount of posts / rep points, you could unlock profile customizations? So like 400 posts: You get music, 800 posts: you get the custom background, and 1000 posts and up

  • I don't think that is a very good idea. Look at Sam. Someone gave him full HTML access. *shrugs*   Seriously though, I think it's best to keep it staff-only as several problems could arise with such

I don't like the idea of autoplays on profiles - it's as intrusive as a talkie to me.

He is a moderator. Music on profiles are a staff-only feature.

The music is embedded into the HTML on the profile, something that only staff can do.

EDIT: Nice try with the HTML on your profile though lol

Seriously though, I think it's best to keep it staff-only as several problems could arise with such a reward system. Equality is important :)

I agree with this.

Even though certain features would be nice, it's for the better that things are kept the way they are.

I agree with this. Maybe an option to have it disabled by default when visiting profiles. But I'm not sure if this is possible.

This is where my awesome laptop comes in.

I don't hear any sort of music when I view Yard1's profile, & Sam's profile looks just like a ordinary profile to me (not that I'm complaining about that, judging from what I've heard, it's like a blessing   ).

Gotta love my laptop :wink::whistling:

I don't hear music either. It's called a "mute" button.

@CrossFire: That would be a moderation nightmare. It's hard to tell if code contains a security risk.

Mute button? WHERE? :woot:

At the topic of whether to make it available to everyone, like said, I think it would be better if it was limited to Mods only.

I think it's cool that it's Mods only, makes them seem more authoritative & important (which they, obviously, are  [vital, really] ).

Sorry, I meant my computer's mute button. I generally keep my computer on mute unless I have a special reason to want audio.

Mute button? WHERE? :woot:

It's on the taskbar. For Windows Vista/7, it looks like this when muted:

Back on topic, again, I'd prefer it not be available to anyone. It's annoying enough as it is when listening to music when people talk over your favourite part of the song, but when MUSIC starts playing over your music... well, that's just enough to piss me off.

Adding to my idea, to make it safer, admins could have to approve what you do to keep it safe and appropriate.

It's very easy to hide malicious code within normal looking code. As well as this, unless all of the moderators are competent in HTML, they wouldn't understand it anyway.

Trust me, it would never happen.
