Are We Still Gonna Need ELS When...

Featured Replies

If and when gta 5 comes out for pc, are we really gonna need ELS or would the default lighting system be sufficient enough because in 5 they have leds, wig wags and etc. I'm not saying anything is wrong with ELS, I love it, but for people who want to use the default lighting system and want a more stable game, I was just wondering if people would like it more than ELS.

I'd hate to burst your bubble but GTA V does not have any way of silencing the siren so you can have lights only operation. It may randomly not play audio due to glitches or via extremely rare player

We have no idea if we would be able to even do anything with the actual game files if it comes to PC, and if it we are able to we may not even  be able to alter the lights, or even add lights!

It's too early to tell! :)

I imagine that if/when GTA V comes out on PC, there'll be an ELS mod for it. To give more patterns and such.

They're realistic for rotating lights but not for leds or other kinds of lights

They're not gonna release details on GTA V for PC unless they have finished everything for it. Look at GTA V last year which it was supposed to come out in late spring but then they pushed it back to September. They received massive backlash for that and that is why I think they won't be announcing GTA V for next gen or PC until the game is entirely finished it. You can say all you want about not being a port on pc for GTA V but let me tell you that Rockstar is good at keeping their mouth shut about important shit.

That's not entirely true, the NOoSE vehicles have LED like light-bars on them (not that they get to use those LEDs though).

I guess they could be considered LED but they sure looks rotation based up close lol

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

lol, Very true.

As for the question, like it's been said, it's still too early to say whether GTA:V will even be moddable or not. ( I wouldn't worry too much tho, our modders are awesome & I'm sure they'll find a way ).

If it will become moddable, then I don't see much of a need for ELS to be ported (or made) for GTA:V, since GTA:V vanilla already comes with LED police lights & such.

Only thing would be, as said, a mod that allows for more & custom light patterns, & to allow the lights to be in different places than default (more places like near the wheels, mirrors, etc.).

Depends if the new GTA V native lighting system has hard-coded limits (think IV's coronas) or it can be applied to other vehicles. We may still need a 'driver' modification for multiple patterns and to toggle light modes on/off.

Cheers.

I thought GTA:V (consoles) already had the option to toggle lights on but not siren?

I've seen in many GTA:V videos that (in some instances) the lights were on but not the siren. I haven't really confirmed with anyone who has GTA:V, but I've seen that a lot on many different videos.

Can anyone that plays V confirm this?

I'd hate to burst your bubble but GTA V does not have any way of silencing the siren so you can have lights only operation. It may randomly not play audio due to glitches or via extremely rare player induced coincidences (I don't know how).

Are these videos you have viewed GTA:Online videos? If so, I have a feeling that there are 'synchronisation' problems between consoles meaning that siren audio does not play.

Cheers.

Lt Bellic is right. There's a ton of audio glitches. There's no way to silence the siren right now, unless you get out of the car (in SINGLE PLAYER ONLY, dunno why not in Multiplayer). First thing I do if it ever comes to the PC is going to change that horrific siren.

Dang it. Well, Thank you, you both.

Yeah, guess we're going to need the mod to do that too (lights on while sirens off, kind of like ELS for IV), which it surely will.
