  • Same, ever since I remember I've wanted to be a cop. When I was a kid, I would name my stuffed animals "police officers" lol. I'm currently an explorer, but hope to become an auxiliary officer at age

  • Same here mate!  Already apart of the family ay :)   For those of you who think you aren't good enough to join, thats plain bullshit. (forgive the french ;) ) Its more than just being physically o

  • Technically you will be a CHP Officer not trooper :P   Anyways on topic, I have no idea yet. I know for a fact there is no way in hell that after around 21ish years of sitting in school I will want

I actually just made an account to reply to this.

I'm joining the National Guard when I get out of high school and planning to join the Military Police. As well as taking four years of Criminal Justice and then hopefully becoming a Police Officer.

I have wanted to do this since I was 7 or 8.

I'm interested in becoming a law enforcement officer, probably starting with local Colorado Springs PD then moving up to the Colorado State Troopers. I like most here have wanted to be a police officer since I was much younger. I'm hoping to get back to the states and join the CSPD explorer program before applying. I'm currently living overseas under the US Department of State, moving around every few years, attending international schools, and working for the US government during extended school holidays. Which all look good on an application, of course I intend to go to college and get my Criminal Justice degree but I'm not going to use that to get a desk up stairs, I love the road, especially the highways which is why the Colorado State Patrol interests me.

I'll probably join the military to have them pay for my degree, serve the 6 years after, and have a degree and military training/experience to put down on the application.

Hell yeah! I've wanted to be one since ever. I hope to be joining the Explorer program my local PD offers in about a year or so. I don't know about anyone else, but I love the idea of protecting people and sacrificing my life for other peoples' safety. I just love the sense of accomplishment.

I am an explorer here in Orange CO FL

Its more than just being physically or mentally capable, its incorporates a range of skills anyone can master if they are dedicated enough.  I am sure atiwarie will agree with me on that one!

So stop making excuses and if you want to join up, there aint no day better than today!

Yes sir

To be honest Police work is mostly common sense, from the over 60+ hours of ride a longs I have done (I know i'm not a expert or any were close to one) Its just common sense and remembering laws and stuff.

If I had a the option of taking a multi million dollar office job or becoming a police officer and getting paid there crappy pay, I would still be a Police Officer just because of what they do, I would still probably be one if I had to work for free.

Paranoid?

Yeah. Way to scared of dying. I keep hearing about these stories of cops being killed in the line of duty, and I finally decided I didn't want to be it. To be honest, the only reason I was into it, was because I loved police cars.

I would absolutely love to become a Police Officer.

It is my dream job, money doesn't bother me; it's the satisfaction of helping others that is the best.

Good on you mate

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

Hey guys,

Just joined the board, I'm a new fan of the LCPDFR mod. I'm going to try to be an active member here.

Wow, a lot of you are way younger than I would have thought...

Anyway, to answer the OP, yes, I do have plans of becoming LEO. I have 5 years in the Army, and I currently work for Brink's as a messenger.

I've always been around a guns, and started carrying a handgun at 19. It's very uncomfortable for me to be unarmed, so naturally, I found a work environment which requires it.

As much as I love moving millions of dollars daily, my true calling is as an LEO.

I'm sure I'll get there some day.

Its funny how you mention age, I was just going to type something about it. Its funny how so many people judge off of age, for as young as I i'm (Some were between 15 years and 18 years old) I never like to give out my age even to people i know, because to many judge off of age. For as young I am, I know a hell a lot about law enforcement, its to the point where my highschool teachers, co-workers, friends, and people I hardly know just ask me questions and the laws and police policy and what not. There was only one time I didn't know out of the hundreds of times people ask me, and that was because it was something really far stretch lol (I go to high school and college at the same time)

That's awesome to hear that. When I was in high school, I was better friends with my teachers than my classmates. I've always been mature for my age. Age doesn't much matter to me. I know people in their 40s who act more childish than highschool kids.

Age is a number. Most of you are smarter than me. I just assumed that the board would have been comprised of "older" people.

It's good to have goals and direction early on. You seem like you know what you're doing.

I just want to point out that Sam, the owner and creator of this community and the LCPDFR mod, is only 19, soon to be 20 (4 days according to his profile).

 Indeed.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

I'm currently in academy training and I can safely say it's the best choice I ever made. I've been dreaming about joining the police since I was 12 years old. To be able to achieve your dream is just the greatest feeling in the world. The only advice I can give you guys is to give it your best shot. If you want something, just go for it!  Every day I put on my uniform, I feel proud to wear it. Being a police officer definitely isn't the most rewarding job but the support you get from your colleagues is fantastic. I've already made friends for life and I'm only one month in training.

"Dura lex, sed lex"

Regarding my post on the first page and federal police (as it has been quoted): My bad. Should've pointed out I'm not in the US or planning to become the listed things there. Simply because "Federal Police" varies between the nations.

Here (Germany) Federal Police is more or less meant in a literal way. The FBI equivalent would be called "Federal Criminal Police Office", I think, where as the Federal Police is responsible for things like (if anyone is interested):

border protection*

protection of federal buildings of constitutional organs

transportation security at int. airports or railway

counter-terrorism (GSG9)

sky marshals

international police missions, doc advisery and in-house security for embassies

Can also be called to reinforce state police. Previous LE experience is not required to apply; it is possible to change from state to federal and vice versa if there's spots, I think.

*Border protection should not be compared with the US or similar nations in this case. The EU has several "treaties" for open inner borders and has their own border protection agency (Frontex). Federal police still checks the external national borders, however. They're basically "open" however. No real classic checkpoints anymore. The exception could be customs checkpoints.

GSG9 Looks pretty badass

I'm currently applying to be a California Highway Patrol Explorer, and eventually a trooper. Growing up I've always admired police officers. Quite a few family friends are CHP officers so seeing that close up solidified my love for law enforcement.
