GamerCop23 reacted to unitedOrange66 in MALWARE - GTA IV / LCPDFRThat's what I initially thought. Because, LCPDFR is never associated with any type of malware, ransomware, or virus in general.
The most common way to infect your PC with malware through GTA is by downloading cracks from untrusted sites, or, downloading previous patches from third-party sites.

GamerCop23 reacted to unitedOrange66 in MALWARE - GTA IV / LCPDFRHello,
Everything published on LCPDFR.com is safe to download. Files are checked thoroughly before they can be published.
Can I ask where did you get GTA IV from?
-
GamerCop23 reacted to SuperStumpje in GTA 4 Taxi Bug?The taxi bug is normally caused by having too many high poly cars in the game. The game can't handle it, and loads the vehicle that has the least amount of polys, which is the taxi.
Best way to fix it is by downloading a traffic spawning script like >TrafficFlow.

Hello!
For 1.0.8.0 Game version you need: LCPDFR 1.1 Legacy Edition + Compatibility Patch
For 1.0.7.0 Game version you need: LCPDFR 1.1 (Not Legacy) without Compatibility Patch
1.0.8.0 Game version does not support plugins + scripts.
1.0.7.0 Game version does support plugins and scripts.
So I prefer to use 1.0.7.0 - there is more possibilities.
For downgrade you can use Downgrader from:
Or use Rockstar Games 1.0.7.0 patch from:
http://updates.rockstargames.com/patches/gtaiv/title_update_7_EN.zip
If you need help with RG patch contact me via my Discord server:

GamerCop23 reacted to Ari in How to play GTA IV smoothly on a low end computerWhen I bought GTA IV, I knew that I didn't meet the requirements to run the game. However, the game is running smoothly after doing some discovered and undiscovered tweaks and I still do not meet the requirements. I'm going to let you in on some things you may know and some things you don't Here are my specs you need to know.
Genuine Intel® CPU 585 @ 2.16GHz
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit
Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
RAM: 3.0 GB
The Trick #1:
Note: (This certain tweak can also help people who meet the requirements, but can only put their graphics on medium.)
Open your GTA IV directory and go to common/shaders/. You should see a folder called win32_30_atidx10 and win32_30_nv8 and others. Make a backup of win32_30_atidx10 folder and move it into win32_30_nv8. Once done, you may or may not get 10 extra fraps. If not, please don't blame me. Remember, it's more for people who can't put their graphics past medium.
The Trick #2 (for low end computers only)
Using a commandline is helpful only if you use it correctly.
Make a file in notepad called, "commandline" and add it to your main folder.
Add the following:
-noprecache
-windowed
-novsync
-novblank
-viewdistance 0
-renderquality 0
-detailquality
-frameLimit 0
-texturequality 0
Then, in the game graphics menu, whatever you can turn off or put on low, that would be recommended
You would think that after putting the settings above would cause the game not to load anything, but it does the opposite for me at least.
You put certain number in front of -availablevidmem depending on how much memory you actually have. Start with -availablevidmem 2.0 but if that doesn't help, put 3.0 instead, and if that doesn't work keep on going up.
Now, you might notice that your game is lagging once in a while. This is because you need to put your texture filter to Anisotropic 2x located in the graphics menu and it's recommended to turn off the clip recording feature located in the game menu. It also helps if you don't have too many scripts in the scripts folder because it could slow down your game or cause it to freeze. Using the LCPDFR which puts files in the Scripts folder should be okay. Just to make sure your game is totally running smoothly, download process tamer here and change the priority to above normal or high. you have to run the program every time you play gta iv to switch it to high or above normal If you need any assistance, comment.

GamerCop23 got a reaction from Prophet in A question - 1.7 update patch not working (GTA IV)?Right, almost there. It has run finally, but has now stopped temporarily and says " SOurce file not found: ........... "Media1.cab" in my GTA directory.
Is this something that should be there?
Also the MSI file did not work, so I tried the EXE file- this one.
Actually, the Medai1.cab file was in the rar download, I have moved that to the GTA directory and hopefully that will work.
Great now it is updated! Thanks a lot for the help.
Finally any other main bits needed for the install ofLCPDFR?

I believe the correct term would be a slideshow, regardless of that, you've got some lovely pictures here. The Land Rover Defenders are really cool.
I'd suggest adding some music though, as I lost interest half-way through.

GamerCop23 reacted to l3ubba in USAF Military PoliceNice video, but that is like only a select few of what Security Forces do. You should make a video showing more of what they actually do like at 0:07.
Also at 6:06 I'm pretty sure that is a US Army guy shooting a Mk. 19, actually a lot of the end of that video looks like Army guys.
Don't worry, I'm just messin with the Security Forces. I make fun of my own MOS all the time too. Just to even it out here is one for me.

GamerCop23 got a reaction from DaGovnah44 in 1.0C must haves!I haven't played 1.0c yet, but have done older LCPDFR, and I would recommend looking at this thread: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
There are really too many to list now, so have a look there!

Here is the link build. If you can, i would highly recommend throwing in some extra money and pick up a 120GB SSD.
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/davelaric/saved/TJsnTW
Wasn't sure if you needed any peripherals/OS/Monitor so didnt include them. If you want em, tell me and ill re-do the build for your budget.
P.S if the prices are not in the right currency, go to the top right corner and select United Kingdom.
-
Getting the parts all together is one of the easiest parts of the build, if it doesn't fit in the slot than it doesn't go there! The harder part will be the drivers, although once you get windows and the motherboard drivers in it is not very hard. There are many helpful videos on the internet that you can use, and they get into detail about what you do and don't need.
-
That video will cover everything you need to know when building your first computer.
I'll quickly make together a build for you on pcpartpicker.
-
It's actually good to decide in advance. that way you'll know what type of parts you'll need to get and the price range of it, i had my PC planned 4-5 months before i actually got the money to buy it. i had a knowledge of the price range of the parts i'll need so i got the money together.
it's good to plan ahead so you'll know you'll have the money rather than waiting until the time comes just to find out you don't have enough money for the parts.
-
Yes.
-
From what I know many computer shops offer a service that will build the PC from the parts you have selected for some extra cost.
You will not find a good premade PC. It is either going to be very cheap due to weak parts, or overpriced. If you can't find that service, you should try to build it. It might look hard, but it is designed that you won't be able to put things into places they are not supposed to be. Watch a few YouTube videos, read a bit online - it is easy!

GamerCop23 reacted to CouthInk4 in Need help with Nightstickyou replaced it with the poolcue so you'll have to dit your weapons.xml
open up your weapons.xml in your gta directory which is in either rockstar games - Grand Theft Auto IV - Common - Data - Weapons.xml or Rockstar Games - Grand Theft Auto IV - PC - Common - Data - weapons.xml then add the weapons.xml line from the nightstick readme file.
or you can simply rename your nightstick file w_bat.wdr and w_bat.wtd and replace your baseball bat with it. then you don't have to edit your weapons.xml

GamerCop23 reacted to hoseclamp in I just want to say thank you ...I'm a new member on the LCPDFR forums, but I've followed the mod since its initial release. I never really seriously played it until the latest release (1.0b). Since then, I can't play it enough (and I've also tried many of the previous versions for various reasons).
I have spent a LOT of time experimenting to try and get my installation stable, and I think I am finally making progress on that front. I rarely crash now, and when I do it is generally the common 'freval' error. That said, I usually get an hour plus of play time so I'm pretty happy.
I just wanted to post here now to say a huge THANK YOU to the LCPDFR team. This is the greatest mod I have ever played. It's rather unfortunate it's just a mod as it really deserves to be its own game, but I'm not complaining. At the same time, I would like to also say another huge THANK YOU to Lt. Caine and LMS for ELS v8 ... it totally revolutionizes LCPDFR! I chose not to use ELS before v8 as I couldn't get past the 'door bug' and no damage, but now with the changes I will never go back to vanilla.
So, to Sam, LMS, Lt. Caine, all the staff here at LCPDFR and all those other individuals who make the awesome mods to enhance our LCPDFR experience ... THANK YOU ALL!!!
I look forward to a long, enjoyable stay here.

I think those are the ones your looking for but you'll have to open them in the model viewer to be certain. I haven't used the FR player selector in such a long time I don't remember all the available peds. I just looked through the FR code and I'm 99% sure those are what your looking for and what FR uses
