Horvath got a reaction from SIR_Sergeant in Indiana Passes Religious Freedom Bill SB 101Personally, I have no issues with same sex marriage. The issue is that marriage is traditionally a religious event. Some religious people do not agree with the concept, and should not be forced to participate in a gay wedding, in any capacity.
Does anyone know when and why RFRA was signed into law? Bill Clinton passed the federal RFRA law in 1993 to allow Native Americans the right to use peyote in religious ceremonies.
Since 1993, around 30 states have passed a RFRA law at state level, because a court ruling determined that the federal government cannot tell states how to use their land, and the federal RFRA law didn't apply.
Indiana's RFRA law is almost word for word, the same law Clinton passed in 1993. Why the uproar about Indiana? Over half the states have nearly identical laws!!
I am headed to Walkerton this weekend. Gonna get me some Memories Pizza. I read the Yelp reviews. A lot of bad reviews from California... Yeah, like Walkerton is a huge tourist attraction... I would be confident in saying that 90% of their reviewers have never even been to Indiana.
Look, bottom line is, this law protects people who want to practice their religion. It doesn't allow discrimination. If you're gay and a store refuses to provide service for gay wedding, you can still sue them, and you can still win. All RFRA does is provide a legal defense. Or, you can just go somewhere else that will do what you need done.

Horvath got a reaction from AgentCharles in Indiana Passes Religious Freedom Bill SB 101Right. Let's boycott Indiana for passing RFRA, which, by the way, about 30 states have, and not mention Iran, where being gay will get you killed. Companies like Apple bash my state for being anti-gay, while making business deals in Iran. Hypocrisy.
Religion is Constitutionally protected. Same sex marriage is not. If my religion isn't allowed to intrude on their rights, then why is their "right" to marriage allowed to intrude on my right to adhere to my religion?
Would you walk into a Jewish deli and ask for a ham and cheese sandwich? Would you be offended if they didn't serve you? You go in there knowing the outcome. That's exactly what the gay community is doing, and claiming they're being discriminated against.
This law protects religious people from being discriminated against. You keep mentioning denial of service. You're looking at it through your narrow filter, and you refuse to see it for what it is.
It doesn't give anyone a right to refuse service. What it does is allow business owners to choose not to participate in an activity which violates their beliefs.
I do not agree with the way Pence handled things. He should have stood his ground, and explained the law. He is partly to blame for the misunderstandings. RFRA does not allow ANYONE to refuse service to ANYONE, for ANY reason. Period.

Horvath got a reaction from DivineHustle in Indiana Passes Religious Freedom Bill SB 101It isn't about denial of service. It has nothing to do with discrimination. It is about refusal to participate in an activity which violates their beliefs.
Say I own a restaurant. A gay couple comes in every week for dinner. They love my food. I think they're great people. One day, they decide to get married. They come to me, and ask me to cater their wedding. I respectfully decline, because I will not participate in the union of a same sex couple, but hope they will continue eating at my restaurant.
Also, why just Christians? In many Muslim countries, gays are killed simply for being gay.
-
Horvath got a reaction from DivineHustle in Indiana Passes Religious Freedom Bill SB 101Let us set the record straight:
RFRA DOES NOT ALLOW DISCRIMINATION OF ANY TYPE
All RFRA does is allow people of ANY faith to not be forced into participating in anything that violates their religion.
Example: A restaurant CAN NOT deny service to homosexuals. EVER. The restaurant MAY, however, refuse to cater a same sex marriage, as that would be participating in an event which goes against their religion.
RFRA would also protect a Jewish baker from baking a cake with the likeness of Adolf Hitler for a customer. (And it has. At least twice.)
RFRA would protect a gay T Shirt printer from printing up shirts for the Westboro Baptist Church.
RFRA would NOT cover a Christian shopkeeper from refusing to sell items to a homosexual.
RFRA would cover a Jewish deli who refuses to serve ham and cheese sandwiches.
RFRA is a defensive law, which provides a shield against litigation when you are sued.
If the restaurant refuses to cater your gay wedding, YOU CAN STILL SUE, and they can still be charged, if the judge rules that RFRA does not apply.
It isn't about discrimination. It doesn't allow discrimination. No one seems to understand what this bill actually does. No one should be forced to take part in something that violates their beliefs.
A wedding is sacred to many Christians who believe it should be a man and woman.
No one may claim that a Jewish or black wedding violates their religion. Well, Muslims are pretty anti-semetic...
It isn't discrimination. The florist would have to sell flowers to anyone who comes into the shop, but they would not have to provide arrangements for a gay wedding.
-
Update: A gofundme donation page has been setup for a Indiana Pizzeria that said they would not cater at gay weddings. It has raised over $740,000 because their business was going to crash after they made their statement.
http://www.gofundme.com/MemoriesPizza
I hate the media, purposely trying to find Christian business owners and ruin their source of income. It makes me sick. There are threats all over the internet, including death threats as well as threats to burn down their building. This makes total sense! "You don't agree with our beliefs, so we're going to ruin your lives!".

My favorite TV show, and End Of Watch is easily my favorite movie.
There was talk of doing a 6th season, or like a made for TV movie to tie everything up, but it never happened.
I watched all 5 seasons at once, and struggled to find something else to take its place. No other cop show exists which is anywhere near how good Southland is.
I then slipped into a state of deep clinical depression for a few weeks. It seriously messed me up. The fact that such an amazing show gets canned, and there's so much garbage being broadcast really gets me.
Bluebloods showed some potential, but I couldn't watch it. I was just trying to fill the hole Southland left in my life. I made it one episode. I wanted it to be Southland, but it isn't.

Horvath reacted toDeactivated Memberin Police Tactics - A Police Officer SimulatorHey everyone,
I just read all posts in this topic (did not see it before), its pretty amazing what we can get in foruns =)
Thank you, in anyway, for everyone that has suggestions, critics and ideas regarding our game. It's been a long time ago when we started the game.
Since this is really a great community (I came here in the past to download this great mod, besides developing games and managing a company, I really like police games) I think I will share some info with you ;) (and this will also be in our dev blog).
Our company had some success with advergames and apps, we are now really working full time (almost a year now) with our own products and games.
We made that Pitch gameplay video in only one month, many of the assets are just placeholders, because we used the video to talk with publishers and to show that there is players and people interested in this kind of game and that WE can do it. We have the experience, we have the know-how. We are also professors and speakers in big game events in our country... we just did not have the opportunity to make such a nice game... yet.
Now we do have a new partnership with a publisher (can't tell yet, because we are preparing an official announcement) and the game WILL launch this year. We are working full time on it, every day, every weekend (almost, we have family, lol).
I, by myself, like to hear and think about every commenting about the game, because this is not just a game for us anymore, it is a game that we want to use as a true case for our company and our country as game developers. So we do hear the community. We want to hear what are your thoughts, we just can't promise that we will do all of your ideas ;)
Above all, a game like this is very complex to do, it takes time, it takes a lot of money ... and we know we have many players that wants a game like this. And we know how to do it. Now we have the time, the budget, the right partnership... and we are building the community o/ Thanks to you and a lot of other channels.
Check our webpage for more ;)
We are preparing many news and all I can show you, at this moment, is our new vehicle for now...
Let's keep in touch ;)
Stay safe!
Cheers

Just a little preliminary question for you, a hypothetical situation, if you will...
You're going to WalMart, and see a 30,000 lb armored truck by the door, the messenger has the door open which has a big yellow sign that says "STAY BACK," and he's loading boxed coin onto a hand cart.
Do you;
A) Heed the sign's warning, and stay back, and go around the truck
OR
B) Walk up to the messenger with your hands in your pockets, and attempt to walk between the truck and the building
Think about that for a brief moment.
Okay, so on several occasions today, I had people get WAY too close to me. The first one had his eyes on me, and with his hands in his pocket, walked towards me. I dropped what I was doing, stared him down, and put my hand on my gun and waited for him to pass.
The second more notable situation was at another WalMart, we were parked about 6 feet from the wall. With my side door open, that left about 3 feet between my door and the wall. I was loading coin again, and a guy walked up from the front of the truck, and I knew he was going to try and get between me and the wall. I pointed at him and yelled at him to go around, which he did. During that same stop, right after him, another guy came up from the back. At least with him, as soon as I looked at him, he stepped back, and went around.
On top of that, I had several people walk into me while inside. Like they're just drifting over, and bump me. I had to push several people today.
What the hell is wrong with people? Today was one of the worst days I've had in a while dealing with people. Just wanted to vent a little of my rage.
