Right then, hello everyone! I've played LCPDFR for a long long time now, like many others. But also, something that really bugs me with the GTA platform, and i'm sure it bugs a multitude of people out there as well. I love playing lcpdfr every day and just relax, but you've got to admit, Liberty City doesn't have that feel anymore. And in a personal opinion, I suggest we move our beloved LCPDFR from the GTA platform theme/engine onto the "Saint's row the third" game platform/engine.

However, you're probably thinking " All the scripts are with GTA though. "

Yes, however, we can rewrite them. We can re-write everything that connects LCPDFR to GTA, and connect LCPDFR to SRTT. Better handling on vehicles, and i'm sure EVERYONE here is tired of the swerving and trying to drive perfect going to a call.

I think we should jump in together on this and suggest new options and discuss this.

If i'm in the wrong section, please move me!

No thank you. The Modders Have Put Enough Time and Effort into GTA IV I'm staying. Why start all the way over? We might as well play SA:MP.

Will we be using dildos instead of batons in SRTT?

nah just kidding... but what you are thinking about is very hard to achieve, and is not favored by the majority, so it's unlikely to happen, sorry!

It's certainly an interesting idea, but I highly doubt it will ever happen. As previously mentioned, modders have spent a very long time to get GTA where it is today and starting all over on a completely different game title just doesn't seem worth it to me.

IMO, SR:3 has a more shitty driving system than GTA:IV. And I, expect more people to back me up on this than on your idea :P

There are so many red flags/ concerns with this. The major one is LCPDFR was made for GTA IV and created for GTA IV. That pretty much fits the term LCPDFR. I don't think the entire community should conform to a less popular game with unrealistic characteristics.

Not only that, LCPDFR has been running for 4-5 years (Correct me if I'm wrong) and has had little to no issue with that. Sure, there's the crashing and bugs, but they can be fixed. If you don't want to crash, than use a default game and play version 0.91.

The hours and hours that modders put into certain material can't just be re-wrote. Yea, if you(*and everyone else who has recently started to make a big deal about the boring selection of mods lately) think it's so easy to re-write them, than be my guest and go for it with the authors approval. For all we know that could potentially be an entire new language to code, not to mention the the animations and whatnot that go into these scripts.

As for handling goes, if you have an issue with it, than change the handling line. I personally am perfectly content with the handling lines I use, so I am not "tired of the swerving and trying to drive perfect to a call".

Take a step back and think how much work this requires from the community. Why fix something if it's not broken? At least not for everyone.

Everything needs more lights.

Is Saints Row even modable?

Slightly. Y'know like basic editing of handling.dat of GTA:IV. Nothing more than that.

Absolutely not. I don't know why everyone would want to move to a game that isn't even close to GTA in any way shape or form. You'll never get the kind of following and mod base like this mod has

Lol i mean just look at the first picture compared to the second..how could you say the second would be more realistic?? GTA IV > SRTT by all means.

Thats a matter of personal opinion. Don't make it a universal truth.

Stands for: Saints Row The Third.

Alright guys, you've stated your opinion and clearly stated that you do not want to do such a thing. There's no need to go on a offense of it. I think he's simply wanting to discuss a possible port (However you could've chose a better title, it's a tad mis leading/demanding). I'm not a fan of SRTT and definitely not interested of being a cop in the game its self (It's too..arcadish/jokish.). I'll stick with GTA IV. Does SRTT even have scripting capabilities?

I just glanced at some Saints Row modding sites, and it looks like there is decent modding that they'll be able to do (the game developer is actually reaching out to them and offering info on file formats and the like). So, there might actually be some good things possible with Saints Row modding, and I'm now interested enough that I might actually buy SR3 and/or SR4 when it comes out.

That said: LCPDFR represents years of development on the RAGE engine. It actually connects at a pretty fundamental level (AdvancedHook directly plays with the engine, not just going through SHDN). I'd be very surprised if G17 decided to take all that to a different game engine.

If you have ever played saints row, you would know its pretty much the same thing as GTA 4..... I think it would be awesome for LCPDFR to become SRPDFR, From what I have seen there is more room for modding, (alot more then GTA will ever let)  I think its actually a wonderful Idea, need to spend money to make money....

I would say 99% of people here saying its a horrible either have no idea what they are talking about, or just want browny points with the community by going against your idea....

From what I see its a win win, its a better map, from what i have seen easier to mod and can handle easier and also is more stable. Some times you just have to move on....

I've played it and I just don't care for it so that could be why I feel the way I feel. Its not a big deal, if people want to do it by all means go for it.
