ELS 7 - OUTSTANDING!!!! REVIEW

 

First, I downloaded it, opened it up and straight away read the pdf file which I have to say is very professionally put together and it's obviously been done with some pride. Great job. 10/10.

 

Second, I wanted to get straight into it so went directly to the installation section, followed it easily (it really is that easy) and did all the changes and went straight into game.

 

Third, I played.... WOW!!!!!!! V6 is awesome but V7 is a masterpiece. Really is.

 

I am still working out how to config different keys with my mouse so I don't have to rely on the keyboard in a pursuit so anyone with thoughts on that please let me know.

 

Simply stunning though guys. Congrats.

 

 

It should. I tried testing with your Predator, but the Predator wasn't working right (in general, not just lighting).

hmm im still having problems crashing if I enable other cars...I put the dsound file from els v5 in and I was able to use my nstockade slot but the other ones if enabled crashes my game instantly...getting frustrated with this

Anybody getting significantly lower FPS with ELS 7 installed? I boot up the game and it has a lower number than what i'm normally at. I normally get 30-35, and with ELS 7 i'm at 15-20.

yes,  also interested in figuring out how to bind the siren correctly to my thumb mouse button.

for those who want to manually control when the secondary/traffic advisor goes on.

 

open your default_config or customized vehicle file in the ELS Folder and change the value in the [ SECL ] section i have highlighted in red.    It should be on.

 

 

[ PRML ]

Type = leds

ForceDfltPat = off

DfltPatId = 0

ExpressModeRandPat = off

ForcePatForSrnTones = off

PatId_Yelp = 0

PatId_Alt1 = 0

PatId_Alt2 = 0

 

[ SECL ]

Type = leds

DisableAtLstg3 = on

ForcePatForLstg = off

PatId_Lstg1 = 0

PatId_Lstg2 = 2

PatId_Lstg3 = 3

 

 

Now what you have to do is use your function key (default = ALT) to turn on lights.    So [ALT+J]  will now turn on only your primary lights.   And if you want your secondary,   just hit the usual [K] key and it will go on and off as you please while your primary will stay on.   If you want to turn off,  you can just hit [J] and it will turn everything off. 

 

 

Dont hit ALT+J while the primary is on because it will just scroll back to the preset lighting.

 

So you can use this simpler control method like ELS 6 before.

Is it not possible just to turn on primary? I have to click the button three times just to get primary on and then turn off all the lights I don't want on.

To be honest, I LOVE ELS v7... Its an amazing mod... reading the comments above, I want to say this... WHEN version 7 of ELS was announced, a lot of people kept asking for the release date, then when its released, you come up with comments saying how stupid this amazing thing is...

Anyway to get the siren to work now on Xbox360 Controller since i use that mostly and turn the lights on with the keyboard it worked perfect with ELS V6 :(

This is a very very special moment, reading at your post Sam, makes me imagine like somebody is talking with a lot of microphones on a stage full of people. Oh God i can't even wait to stop typing and start my game. See you in a couple of years!!

So...what would happen to the "Halogen" effect now? I don't see ELS-H settings like in v6.

Read the manual; it's now lighting type ROTA (available for both PRML and SECL, not just PRML).

Sorry. Its gotta f**k ton more features and additions and it definitely will take time to explore and figure out. I have never, in my whole life, read something this long to be able to install and make use of a mod properly. Still reading through.

Please guys read the attached pdf.. 97% of these concerns and issues are explained in there. I mean can't anyone just appreciate the effort Caine and the testers put into this? Yes this is a big step from els v7 (In MANY ways) but we wanted new features and he gave them to us! Now we want him to take the features away cause the controls are too complicated, or whatever the case maybe. I wish you guys the best of luck in your journey with this (AMAZING) new modification! And remember be happy guys cause once we get the controls down this is going to be a cakewalk just like els v5 & v6.

I appreciate the hard work that went into this. I messed around for 30 min and have it where I want it. Just one thing though. Is there anyway to adjust the speed of the patterns? I looked in the ini but nothing stuck out at me. 

 

*Update* Never mind. Found it in the guide. I was just too excited and didn't look hard enough. Excellent work. No flaws at all.

I just asked the same but I answered my own question. Its in the Guide.
