Where would you like a new GTA be located?

Featured Replies

The States or Canada, and I would really like to see a country area with a large freeway system. Maybe like the original GTA SA, with 3 Large cities and highways connecting them, but the country area being over 70% of the map instead of 50/50.

One old idea from gtaforums I liked was a Midwest GTA, with cities based off Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

They should make a GTA in Africa. Although, I can only imagine cars being stolen around every corner, so maybe not such a good idea. But then again, that defines Grand Theft Auto... Thus Africa is the

That would be crazy if you could fly from say Liberty City to Los Santos and then to Vice City. Only problem that game would be so huge I don't know if a console could handle that much.

Eh? You can be sure that the whole world wont be loaded at once for something that big. Also im sure they will remake the cities and not just combine them from each old version into one huge mismatched terrain. Just use the idea from each city over the years and make it again under the new game engine.

the way gta is made a console can handle 10x the game a computer can

I would like to see houston or some city like that. Have a downtown metropolis surrounded by country. Or maybe a larger city on the border, that way we could get some border patrol. Or maybe even some where in the mountains. Too many choices!

To be honest, I'd say Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit, Chicago, or New Orleans are US Cities that are deserving of serious consideration.

Philadelphia could be another place as well.  Camden, New Jersey is right across the river from there, so just like Los Santos involved San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas being lumped together, they do the same format with Philly, Camden and Wilmington, Delaware.

Personally, I'd like to see Seattle on there, but I'm totally bias.  However, there is some merit.  We have a rising homicide rate, the gang scene is re-igniting here, and we have three distinct communities that could be profiled.  Seattle, Tacoma and Yakima.  Yakima, though a mid-sized city at best, has risen to the top 10 in auto theft in the US, and has itself a very increased homicide rate.

At the same time, I recognize that Seattle, even though starting to become a crime-ridden city-still does not present the way LA or NY does.

Internationally, I think Indonesia would be a spectacular setting, simply because of the culture clash that is occurring there.  On one block, you'll find first world class, and on the following block you'll run into third world disarray.  I think that could create the most intriguing story line that the GTA series has ever had.

If not there, somewhere in the Eastern Bloc would be great as well, where human trafficking is becoming the "normal" way of life.  That could be the first time that GTA profiled a female as their lead character, which would be equally interesting.

My idea is a city if the southern of the USA, in a fictional state in the Gulf of Mexico - with sea and rivers, city, highways, industrial areas and some countrysire -. Maybe it could be next to the border with Mexico, or instead close to Vice City, or in the just in the middle of those two.places. It would take place in the first half of the 1990s.

Other than that, Chicago, would be a nice place for another GTA, or Las Venturas (Las Vegas, if there's anyone who doesn't know that yet :P) in the late 70s or 80s would be amazing  The motor city, Detroit, is a place I like, but I think have too much respect to it to make a GTA there :P

About these suggestions about a GTA out of America (and Canada and Mexico), I can't agree with them; I think GTA series is something that belongs to America (I actually liked the suggestion of the German Democratic Republic  ), but I respect your opinion;) About Alaska, come on, I know it's a beautiful place but is there even something but forests and cold weather? Sure it would innovate a lot :D  But if we had another 80s Vice City I think would be amazing to can go to Colombia (maybe a smaller map), aka where most cocaine came from, where we could free roam.

@above: I've read that Seattle now some year ago, I believe 80s, was pretty fucked up with the drugs, so I guess it was violent too, but I don't know much about that matter. Washington was one of the cities where the crack epidemic did hit hardest, I don't know if it's still a so violent city...

I would like to see it in a city that is located close to Mountains. Not going to name any city's as i'm going to create one I would love to see it look. Things I would want in a GTA 4 map

  • Mountains
  • Back country roads
  • City part of the game
  • But also a country part of the game.
  • Big lake or ocean.

But we already know where its going to be its going back to LA well its LA just with a different name...

I'd love one set in Texas...3-4 big cities could be based on Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, and Houston, with several smaller towns inbetween. Texas has everything that seems to be mentioned here...big cities, small towns, mountains, desert, coastline, backroads, rolling plains, and countryside. Plus, with El Paso, you would get US Border Patrol. And highways would obviously connect those cities, and you could stop at small towns along them. With a GTA6 release more than likely on the PS4, something that big may be possible.

the way they have it now is awesome, anywhere else besides cali would just be a fail, oh god specially london.
cali is awesome.

.... if it had to be in the US then definitley Washington DC even though its not a gang land :P

LOL, yeaaaaa, you'd be surprised dude

They should make a GTA in the Netherlands. Most storylines have drugs involved or are the main cause of all problems. So, that would define to the drug wars/hunting/enforcing.
