Siren Mastery

SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

@Albo1125 Is it ELS compatible or not?

Yes.

Not sure if I'm missing something but for me the AI siren is the normal vanilla siren and not the custom sirens I installed. Is this supposed to happen? Is there anyway I can have the AI use the custom sirens?

It appears that you have installed a siren that is an incompatible .wav file which is causing issues.

Thanks, uninstalling custom sirens worked. Any idea why there was no issue with the custom siren for a few days?

Hey Albo, i installed the heavy rescue fire truck mod with the standalone install, and after i modified the sirens in SirenMasterySetup.xml for the model, when i went into the game, the lights for the truck would come on, but none of the sirens work. the sirens for my original truck and ambulance and police cars work fine, but for some reason when i use this one, it does not work at all. and when i go to use the horn, the plugin crashes. please help!!

What's the workaround with Siren Mastery + ELS installed for AI sirens?

I have "false" assigned in each vehicle VCF in ELS for sirens to utilize Siren Mastery, but this kills the AI sirens?

Albo, first of all, love all of your mods. Keep up the great work! So, I'm having a little trouble with Siren Mastery. I just installed the latest Ragehook update and now Siren Mastery is crashing. It loads OK, but it crashes as soon as I hop into a police vehicle. I ran the troubleshooter which didn't find any errors. I also downloaded and reinstalled Siren Mastery as well. Here is a link to my log file. http://pastebin.com/WiUuSL0q

This is what appears to be the main error from the log, but I could be wrong: System.NullReferenceException --> at NAudio.Wave.WaveOutEvent.Init(IWaveProvider waveProvider)

Thanks in advance!

This means you have siren sound WAV files installed that cannot be loaded by siren mastery due to their format or audio driver limitations.

Thanks Albo! This gave me a few things to try and I got it working. In case anyone else has this issue, here's how I fixed it. I recently got a Logitech headset, so I guess the default settings don't work well. I changed the "Default Format" in Sound > Playback > Advanced to "FM Radio Quality" instead of "DVD Quality". I then changed the Surround Sound mixer in the Logitech software from Dolby to DTS. After making those changes, it started working like normal again.

Thanks again! :D

I'm having issues getting the keyboard config to work. Although I've put different keybinds in, it doesn't work in game, only the default controls work.

*Welp...I fixed it :3 I never realized that I wasn't suppose change the default keys in the config as well. Welp...I fixed it :3

So i'm using ELS. ELS cars: FBI, FBI2, Police1-4, Sheriff, Sheriff2. I want to have different Primary, secondary and police warning for each department. can i do this with sirenmastery (because i'm using ELS) or can i somehow just exchange the siren files in the vehicles files with OpenIV? If so: how? i used GravelRoadCop's readme in his Sirenpack 8.0.5 and renamed the files according to his list but all cars still have the same sirens.

EDIT: Just read that it is compatible with ELS. Can anyone explain to me how? i don't want to fuck up my sirens :D had a bullhorn as secondary siren yesterday by mistake :D

Hey Albo! I've been using your mod for a long time now. I really can't live without it. One small question though. Do you still support the mod? If so, could you please, please add an echo configuration? That way we can set the amount of echo for the siren. Right now it cuts off a bit harsh which doesn't make it sound natural... If that would be possible, you would absolutely make my day! Keep doing what you're doing for this community my friend!

Hey so I got a quick question. Just started out trying this so far cool mod. I'm having a bit of trouble with the custom siren sounds. I'm sure this question may or may not have been asked/addressed but I just simply don't have time to comb through 24 pages of comments lmao. So here it is:

I have the custom sirens I want to use placed in the custom sirens folder and then set their correct names in the xml file for the vehicle I want to use. The plugin loads up perfectly fine (or did until I changed a few keys, this ultimately could be the problem but I noticed it prior to changing keys in the config) except none of the siren tones will play now. Its just dead silent. Any reason for this?

when I tap the manual siren sound (o key) a few times, it plays that original siren noise in the background and it is somewhat distracting. Is there a way to turn that off?

Hey Albo,

im having a little trouble installing. I passed step one but once I goto step two to use openiv(first time user) I go into all the files you directed but the resident file doesn't show up in openiv but if I open the gta file not using openiv I see it. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Also after I tried a bunch I stuff it made all the files a "openiv file" is that ok?
