ABOUT :

Modern Siren Pack is a sound modification that introduces current generation real-world siren tones to GTA V, giving you a realistic emergency driving atmosphere. This modification will restructure the discontinued American Siren Pack modification and evolve into a larger scale siren modification for Grand Theft Auto V. The sound pack aims to introduce all known siren brands from around the world, and to allow you to choose the siren tones you want to have. The mod also aims to provide you with a smoother and easier installation experience. Modern Siren Pack is compatible with Emergency Lighting System V by Lt.Caine & Siren Mastery by Albo1125.

The best part about this mod? It's F.R.E.E.

Yup, I don't charge a single dime for this mod, unlike many other greedy "content creators' out there. For the love of god, don't pay $6 for a siren pack when this one is free ...

FEATURES :

The siren pack is in ongoing development, with limited and doctored/unedited siren tones. The siren pack will offer over 8 different Siren manufacture brands including but not limited to: Whelen Engineering, Federal Signal Corporation, Code 3 PSE, Feniex, Sound Off Signal, Rontan, Carson and Star/SVP. Modern Siren Pack will also include several foreign siren tones that are used  in other countries.

Some siren brands will come with four standard tones ( Wail, Yelp, Priority, Hi-Lo/Misc. Tones, ) including air horn. The siren tones in the pack will have a maintained level of volume, and quality assurance to give you the experience you want to have, especially by getting attention of other drivers on the road while responding code 3.  Some siren brands are versatile for Fire/Rescue - EMS roles.

IMPORTANT NOTE :

Modern Siren Pack Alpha is your chance to experience the mod as it evolves throughout its development process. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. I strongly advise you to expect the following bugs before you report it to me: volume level differences, some are quiet whereas others are louder. Not all siren models will have complete siren tones set regarding their real-life counterparts. Changes will occur, and I will omit some.  By using Modern Siren Pack, you understand what Alpha Pack means and are interested in taking part in the ongoing development cycle.

Sirens provide an essential function of an effective audio/visual warning system. However, sirens are only short range secondary devices. The use of a siren does not ensure that all drivers can or will abide by or react to an emergency warning signal, especially at high rates of speeds or long distances. The operator of the vehicle must never take the right of way for granted, and it is the operator’s responsibility to proceed safely.

Thank you for supporting the Modern Siren Pack.  --- " 132 & in uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i got him at gunpoint. Cover is code 3. "

Audio Strings

At the time of writing this guide, only the horn and siren audio strings listed below are known. These are meant for use in the SOUNDS section of the VCF.

• SIRENS_AIRHORN (Main air horn, 0x0EA58C7C.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_1 (Main wail, 0x0D329446.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_2 (Main yelp, SIREN_2.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_POLICE_WARNING (Main priority, POLICE_WARNING.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_AMBULANCE_WARNING (Ambulance priority, AMBULANCE_WARNING.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_FIRETRUCK_WARNING (Fire truck horn, 0x14BFBCE3.wav)

As of September 13th, 2018, it is now possible to assign additional siren strings to ELS :

Firetruck Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_FIRETRUCK_WAIL_01" - Firetruck Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_FIRETRUCK_QUICK_01" - Firetruck Secondary

Police Bike Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_03" - Police Bike Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_03" - Police Bike Secondary

Sheriff (Granger) Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_04" - Sheriff (Granger) Primary

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_04" - Sheriff (Granger) Secondary

^ These two are not working as of 9/13/2018

FIB Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_02" - FIB Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_02" - FIB Secondary

Ambulance Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_01" - Ambulance Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_01" - Ambulance Secondary

MANUAL INSTALLATION :

Make a new folder somewhere on your desktop, name it anything
Move Both the Vehicle folder and vehicle.oac file out of this .rar pack into the folder you just created on the desktop
Open 'OpenIV' and go to your GTA V Directory.
In 'OpenIV', go to the 'x64' folder, then audio > sfx > resident.rpf ( it is advised that you use your mod folder instead of vanilla )
Inside Resident.rpf should be 16 .awc files.
Import openformats, navigate to the folder you put the Modern Siren Pack 'vehicles' folder and the 'vehicles.oac' in and  select the 'Vehicles.oac'
save and you're good to go. Respond Code 3 !

OIV INSTALLATION

OIV INSTALLATION :

1) Run OpenIV
2) Select Tools > Package Installer (Located on the toolbar at the top)
3) Locate 'Modern Siren Pack.OIV'
4) Select 'Open'
5) Choose 'MODS folder' to install in.
6) Respond Code 3.

Special thanks to @Albo1125 @FirstThirtyMinutes for the tutorial videos :

IF YOU WISH TO USE OTHER SIRENS TONES OTHER THAN STOCK TONES, YOU WILL NEED TO REFER TO YOUR SIREN HASHTAG DICTIONARY, AND USE THE NAMES FOR YOUR DESIRED TONES. MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE FOLDER DOES NOT EXCEED 15.7MB OR IT WILL MUTE THE SOUND DICTIONARY.

IF YOU USE THE RATING/REVIEW SYSTEM TO REPORT ISSUES/BUGS, I WILL IGNORE IT AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED.

It looks like you didn't import the x64 audio folder to the mod folder, so go to your base x64 folder, audios and then it should ask you to load it under MOD folder.

The opening intro is the Motorola Spectra siren, the middle scene ( with the blue FPIS) is the Code 3 Mastercom B siren, and lastly the ending scene is the Federal Signal Smart Siren.

What exactly is the procedure for installing a different siren from one of the stock folders once you already installed one of other sirens from those folders? Do you just replace the vehicles folder with a new one or do you have to replace everything and re-import vehicles.oac in openiv?

I love the tones of the Banshee but I wish it weren't so shrill.  If you look up videos of it on YouTube it doesn't seem to sound the same in the real world as it does in game.  It's very grating and treble-heavy.

Added the wheelen cencom siren audio according to the installation procedures, but it made it go past the said 15.7 mb limit. The game may or may nor crash, but when it loads successfully, it does not load into the els slots that I have for the vehicles. Could it be the strings in the els files?

Currently ELS only has access to the following siren strings:
• SIRENS_AIRHORN (Main air horn, 0x0EA58C7C.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_1 (Main wail, 0x0D329446.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_2 (Main yelp, SIREN_2.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_POLICE_WARNING (Main priority, POLICE_WARNING.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_AMBULANCE_WARNING (Ambulance priority, AMBULANCE_WARNING.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_FIRETRUCK_WARNING (Fire truck horn, 0x14BFBCE3.wav

Make sure the sirens are in the correct hash slot so an example make the main wail tone renamed to "0x0D329446.wav"

Here are the tones already renamed for you.

How would I be able to use the manual1.wav / manual2.wav with ELS in the ''Galls Street Thunder 800 Siren'' folder? The main MANUAL TONE doesn't work in ELS as far as I can see.

No. Use one of them, rename it as " AMBULANCE_WARNING" and you can use it through ELS siren slot.  SirenMastery is not required.

New update:

tried to motorola spectra and that siren park worked. The cencom sounds are 1) not accurate and 2) need to have a proper audio file associated with the pack (some of the slots had empty audio files)... just a little commentary

I need some help with getting the sirens to work.

I followed the installation video's to the second and got the "standard" siren from the pack to work. But whenever i want to install the code 3 mastercom B siren, it wont let it be changed. I copied the files in the vehicles folder and then using openiv, i get the vehicles.oac file imported in the resident.rpf map.

So has anybody a solution?

Yeah, weird - I've used this awesome pack for like a year, been away for a few months, and went to put the Galls Street Thunder back in, but the sirens aren't changing in the game - any ideas?

I have been using this pack for sirens and also as a base to add sirens not included in this pack and it always works for me.

I know this will be tedious but can you tell me step by step how you add the sirens to see where you might have gone wrong.

thetastycat

Haha - so I just tried it one more time before detailing the steps, and guess what - it's working :S

Probably user error as usual!  Caramel, thanks so much for being willing to help - these sirens make all the difference in the world!

I am such an idiot - I thought it was working but it wasn't.  So I tried again, being sure to do everything in order; turns out I hadn't navigated into the /sfx folder first - ridiculous.  Now working like a charm - thanks again!!

@GravelRoadCop,

I love this pack very much, but is there any chance you can edit the Whelen X-ecutor so they don't have SirenSwitch tones?

Thanks!

If you are using Lt.Caine's ELS, then press 4 to activate the ambulance tone slot, in which I've assigned the manual siren tones to.

o0o0 i see and what about those using controller how can we set it up the only way i can get it to work is

<ManTone1 AllowUse="true" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_AMBULANCE_WARNING" /> that way i can use the B on the controller but i like to use my normal siren and have a different key to use the ambulance tone can this be possible

GravelRoadCop

Members Author

The way I've done it is to map the manual audio string to ambulance warning, so when I press B on my controller it activates the manual tone. Once I'm in light stage 3, then B will cycle through the rest of the tones. If I'm in light stage 1, It'll only activate the manual siren.

<ManTone1 AllowUse="true" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_AMBULANCE_WARNING" />
