ABOUT :

Modern Siren Pack is a sound modification that introduces current generation real-world siren tones to GTA V, giving you a realistic emergency driving atmosphere. This modification will restructure the discontinued American Siren Pack modification and evolve into a larger scale siren modification for Grand Theft Auto V. The sound pack aims to introduce all known siren brands from around the world, and to allow you to choose the siren tones you want to have. The mod also aims to provide you with a smoother and easier installation experience. Modern Siren Pack is compatible with Emergency Lighting System V by Lt.Caine & Siren Mastery by Albo1125.

The best part about this mod? It's F.R.E.E.

Yup, I don't charge a single dime for this mod, unlike many other greedy "content creators' out there. For the love of god, don't pay $6 for a siren pack when this one is free ...

FEATURES :

The siren pack is in ongoing development, with limited and doctored/unedited siren tones. The siren pack will offer over 8 different Siren manufacture brands including but not limited to: Whelen Engineering, Federal Signal Corporation, Code 3 PSE, Feniex, Sound Off Signal, Rontan, Carson and Star/SVP. Modern Siren Pack will also include several foreign siren tones that are used  in other countries.

Some siren brands will come with four standard tones ( Wail, Yelp, Priority, Hi-Lo/Misc. Tones, ) including air horn. The siren tones in the pack will have a maintained level of volume, and quality assurance to give you the experience you want to have, especially by getting attention of other drivers on the road while responding code 3.  Some siren brands are versatile for Fire/Rescue - EMS roles.

IMPORTANT NOTE :

Modern Siren Pack Alpha is your chance to experience the mod as it evolves throughout its development process. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. I strongly advise you to expect the following bugs before you report it to me: volume level differences, some are quiet whereas others are louder. Not all siren models will have complete siren tones set regarding their real-life counterparts. Changes will occur, and I will omit some.  By using Modern Siren Pack, you understand what Alpha Pack means and are interested in taking part in the ongoing development cycle.

Sirens provide an essential function of an effective audio/visual warning system. However, sirens are only short range secondary devices. The use of a siren does not ensure that all drivers can or will abide by or react to an emergency warning signal, especially at high rates of speeds or long distances. The operator of the vehicle must never take the right of way for granted, and it is the operator’s responsibility to proceed safely.

Thank you for supporting the Modern Siren Pack.  --- " 132 & in uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i got him at gunpoint. Cover is code 3. "

Audio Strings

At the time of writing this guide, only the horn and siren audio strings listed below are known. These are meant for use in the SOUNDS section of the VCF.

• SIRENS_AIRHORN (Main air horn, 0x0EA58C7C.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_1 (Main wail, 0x0D329446.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_2 (Main yelp, SIREN_2.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_POLICE_WARNING (Main priority, POLICE_WARNING.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_AMBULANCE_WARNING (Ambulance priority, AMBULANCE_WARNING.wav)
• VEHICLES_HORNS_FIRETRUCK_WARNING (Fire truck horn, 0x14BFBCE3.wav)

As of September 13th, 2018, it is now possible to assign additional siren strings to ELS :

Firetruck Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_FIRETRUCK_WAIL_01" - Firetruck Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_FIRETRUCK_QUICK_01" - Firetruck Secondary

Police Bike Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_03" - Police Bike Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_03" - Police Bike Secondary

Sheriff (Granger) Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_04" - Sheriff (Granger) Primary

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_04" - Sheriff (Granger) Secondary

^ These two are not working as of 9/13/2018

FIB Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_02" - FIB Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_02" - FIB Secondary

Ambulance Siren:

"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_WAIL_01" - Ambulance Primary
"RESIDENT_VEHICLES_SIREN_QUICK_01" - Ambulance Secondary

MANUAL INSTALLATION :

Make a new folder somewhere on your desktop, name it anything
Move Both the Vehicle folder and vehicle.oac file out of this .rar pack into the folder you just created on the desktop
Open 'OpenIV' and go to your GTA V Directory.
In 'OpenIV', go to the 'x64' folder, then audio > sfx > resident.rpf ( it is advised that you use your mod folder instead of vanilla )
Inside Resident.rpf should be 16 .awc files.
Import openformats, navigate to the folder you put the Modern Siren Pack 'vehicles' folder and the 'vehicles.oac' in and  select the 'Vehicles.oac'
save and you're good to go. Respond Code 3 !

OIV INSTALLATION

OIV INSTALLATION :

1) Run OpenIV
2) Select Tools > Package Installer (Located on the toolbar at the top)
3) Locate 'Modern Siren Pack.OIV'
4) Select 'Open'
5) Choose 'MODS folder' to install in.
6) Respond Code 3.

Special thanks to @Albo1125 @FirstThirtyMinutes for the tutorial videos :

IF YOU WISH TO USE OTHER SIRENS TONES OTHER THAN STOCK TONES, YOU WILL NEED TO REFER TO YOUR SIREN HASHTAG DICTIONARY, AND USE THE NAMES FOR YOUR DESIRED TONES. MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE FOLDER DOES NOT EXCEED 15.7MB OR IT WILL MUTE THE SOUND DICTIONARY.

IF YOU USE THE RATING/REVIEW SYSTEM TO REPORT ISSUES/BUGS, I WILL IGNORE IT AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED.

Just to be sure, the download shows all the sirens that are with the pack, and then there's the vehicles.oac.  Do we need to pick out any sirens that are shown, or can we just start the install process with the provided vehicles.oac?

GRC has set this mod up with modified sirens already, you can install it as it is and it changes GTA 5 base sirens. He has also included sirens for us to customise if we wish. So it can be installed as is or you can change the sirens to your liking.

I'm not getting any of the sound files in game once I changed them [for ELS]

If I understood correctly, rename the file to the appropriate spot, for instance I made the smart siren wail my police primary, and replace the file in the vehicles folder. With the vehicles folder and .oac in a folder together, import from that folder into open IV and it should all run properly right? I've installed plenty of sirens and all, I'm not sure why there's no audio for these, so I must have messed something up.

Update: It worked fine with the smart siren and whelen motorbike sirens, but for whatever reason the fire truck, ambulance, and fbi slots do not override and continue to use the same siren--whichever is defaulted in the unaltered vehicle folder from this pack-- across all 3.  The sirens I was attempting to use for the fbi and firetruck slots were the  federal interceptor and federal signal Q sirens. Additionally, attempting to move the dual siren tone in the MISC folder for the ambulance seems to be the cause of eliminating all sound operation regardless of what files I initially moved into the folder [the issue I was experiencing earlier].

Also, the smart siren is actually loud unlike basically every other LAPD siren I have come across so I love that.

This siren pack wouldn't control your lights or modify them.  Make sure you have a proper VCF set up for POLICE.

I have to agree.  I'd be fine if you had made a new pack for these sirens, but adding them to a pack called "Modern Siren Pack"? I really hope these are optional tones.  I'd hate for you to release a really nice update, but it also includes these tones.

Both of the tones are for the Feniex Siren Folder as in real life they have both tones for their Storm pro 100/200W Siren box. http://www.feniex.com/storm-pro-100w-siren

They are all optional for you to use. They aren't installed by default.

Hello guys! I have GTA 5 with LAPD and LASD vehicles put all as a Los Angeles mod. I have RDE installed including also CHP and FBI. I decided to put ELS CHP vehicles in it, I put the audio strings of POLICE_WARNING and AMBULANCE_WARNING with CHP siren as tones for CHP vehicles, but when I try them in-game, sirens sound is not produced regularly, I mean the sound string doesn't follow the sound rhythm as shown in the audio file when tested out-game. I don't know why. Is there a way to make the sound be produced regularly? Because it's the only way I can put a separate siren appositely for ELS CHP vehicles in GTA with RDE. Is there a way to do so? Or I have to wait for the ELS plugin update because there will be more audio strings?

Thats a very nice pack :D Very good work :)

I think the volume of some sirens are to silent for ingame, it would be very cool, if you could take the volume of the "Federal Smart Siren" (because i think thats the perfect volume) and perform this to any siren :D

Maybe you can say how i can change the volume by myself :)

Best regards from germany :)

Thanks for the fix, but there's still a step down tone towards the end that shouldn't happen on the primary siren.

Funny enough, this is the video I used to record the siren. It's not the greatest source, it's windy and lots of noise interference. My wail tone is a result of three different videos complied into 1 wail track. It's a puzzle piece that isn't flowing nicely with the other two and I'm trying to get it right.

I just found a better source, and it's the same source the author in the video used, however the quality is improved in my pack. Go try it out now.

Just a reminder/suggestion to all. Please put your videos in a spoiler box to prevent unnecessarily long pages. Those on mobile devices and laptops thank you.

I think atm we just have to wait on ELS. I have CHP in my FBI slots and wanted to use just the CHP for those, but don't think its possible.

You will find all of the sirens that is heard in the City of Los Angeles in my pack.

LAFD ( Fire and EMS) - Motorola Astro Spectra Siren and Whelen Epsilon for the newer fleets.

LAPD/LASD - Federal Signal Smart Siren, and on older fleets they use Unitrol 480k siren.

CHP - CHP Whelen siren
