This thread is heating up..... Anyways to address the topic, there are a lot of interesting vehicles in the works by a lot of different people, some are used by many departments some are not. I don't want to spoil any surprises by the respective authors, but they are in the works! Just keep in mind these WIP's take time and sometimes get buried under all of the other releases.

I know what people are thinking "Ugh! Another CVPI...." , but this is the first publicly released Maine State Police CVPI and it just so happens to be my first vehicle mod. Beta right now but you should see this released in the next few weeks! -
When modifying anything in your GTA IV game you should make backups, period. It will save massive time and headaches and you're welcome! As for you request there are youtube videos if you need to see it done. I would use Custo's "more vehicles mod" or this added vehicle pack on GTA 4 mods and you'll notice what files are needed to be replaced and what changes are needed to be made. I modeled and textured this awhile back and I'm wondering now should I convert and release this guys? Are there enough CHP fans on here to make it worth my time? Let me know what you guys think! -
You may also want to try right clicking on OpenIV and choosing to "Run as administrator" that can sometiems be the culprit.

Hard to believe its been a year since I announced this. Well officially I'm still working on all my ped models, but I've been doing some other modeling projects as well. I took a long break to get a better feel for 3ds Max so that I can do everything that I want to with these ped model projects. I have some very epic stuff in the works (some ped related some are vehicle related), but everything takes so much time. So the good news is its still being worked on, I have a few other smaller things I want to finish then this will be the focus again. Thanks for all the interest and your patience guys. @awesomeguy Yes I have a specific K-9 ped model that I will be working on and it will look a lot like that (if not exact).

Do you get a specific error using OpenIV? They have a bug reporting system and are very active in making the program work as flawlessly as possible. Make sure you're using the latest version of the program here: http://openiv.com/

Somewhere I read he made a nice accurate interior as well? Do you have any screens of the interior? DodgeBoy does great work so this might be the best optimized 2013 Ford Police Interceptor model to date. Very cool stuff! -
It looks great! I know DodgeBoy has posted before that he makes an effort to keep the poly count down, but how's the size on this model?

My recommendation to you convert your own version. There are Dodge Chargers models out there from Forza or NFS MW that can be easily found. They need some extra editing to get the accurate appearance for the police version, but Its a very important skill set for any vehicle modder to have (converting and modeling). If you choose not to then you'll be very dependent on others for all of the content needed for any of your future projects. Remember google is your friend... Good luck

To my knowledge SparkIV is no longer being worked on so support will only come from helpful members in the community. I'd recommend you used OpenIV to install new content. I don't have the Steam version but you'll most likely have to tell OpenIV where to find your GTA IV directory.

That truck is looking really good! I'm glad to see another true modeler in the community and not just another converter or assembler. Firetrucks are a great way to get started and comfortable with 3d modeling. If you ever have any questions give me a shout! Constructive criticism is always something that I like to see but it bothers me when people post that they don't like something and leave it at that. Why do you need to share with everyone and the author that you don't like it? There are plenty of things that I don't like or aren't suited to my tastes, but that doesn't mean I need to share my opinion with the community. I just think it creates a negative atmosphere. Modeling takes a lot of time and effort and its always motivational when you get positive comments or constructive criticism.

If you want to do it by SNT open the ini and change VehicleLivery=1 //Trainer mapped Livery to VehicleLivery=0 //Trainer mapped Livery Then while in SNT go to Car Option and I think the option is on the 2nd page near the bottom it says something about setting the car liveries and you can flip through up to 10 (if I remember correctly) but most models only have 4 assigned

You are actually possibly in luck my friend! I have been working with Corleone on one such Mustang project! It's the 2013 Ford Mustang 302 Boss (from Forza Motorsport 4). We have 2 slicktop versions. One is a simple light setup and the other is for those who love their lights (more of a Christmas Tree edition...). I just posted screenshots of the 2 marked skins in Corleone's thread link below.

I actually have all the parts for this (and skin) and will probably be putting it all together soon, but I also want to do the K-9 version as well. Just have to wrap up a few other small projects, but I got you covered!

I know these guys are working on the final touches for the Caprice. So not too much longer, but I don't think you'll get a hard date from them. However, I've seen side by side comparisons of this model with the other models already released and it is night and day difference. Well worth the wait and I don't even like the Chevy Caprice!
