  1. Performance-wise, apparently the 30FPS cap is specific to the review copies according to some sources, so we'll see. In addition to the main game, hopefully a trainer gets made that lets me disable the wanted level, change player model to a cop and then crack some mob heads in with a nightstick. A hyper-violent Adam-12 simulator :P.
  2. That's actually a brilliant suggestion; instead of just being busted normally, your character could be cuffed like normal criminals, put in the back of a car, then the screen fades to black and your character is teleported to the Online police station character creation area (with the height board and camera) being processed, then teleported to the cell area. A similar mod was made for San Andreas where once you were busted you were put in one of the cells to wait out a timer for release. Obviously it's a minor niche feature compared to the rest of the mod, but it's good for immersion.
  3. A lot of people have been saying that IV is a lot more stable on Win 10 in terms of crash frequency and texture loss occurrences. Strange that people should have to wait 8 years to get a decently working version of the game. Guess that's how R* do their PC ports.
  4. That's the main problem with a community-driven effort for more content and plugins; there's no cohesion in terms of feedback and ease of use information which could go towards making the plugin development sphere a more coherent whole. As a possible solution to this keybinding conundrum, the simplest idea would be to make a thread in the plugin development forum area that lists the keybindings used by the most popular plugins (as a guide for plugin developers so that their plugin controls don't clash with others) and acts as a discussion area for control schemes.
  5. What I would ideally like to see is an API function that detects all menus used by plugins and provides a 'master menu' which, when activated with one keypress, shows a list of all the menus that are generated by plugins, add-ons and such, allowing the user to seamlessly progress to that menu without having to worry about keybindings (seriously, at this point my LSPDFR install has more plugin hotkeys than MS flight simulator). My idea is that this master menu would function similarly to the slow-mo 'action menu' from LCPDFR, allowing developers to use this much simpler one-key press and hold method of usage rather than making additional keybinds that a casual user wouldn't remember. I can't be the only one here who's spawned a pedestrian barrier, brought up two menus and called an ambulance all in succession when all i wanted to do was search a car.
  6. To be perfectly honest, I view most of the Leave outcry and social media tantrums as the far-left student demographic getting a massive kick in the face for not getting their way for once, no matter how many placards they wave or faux-intellectual Facebook posts they post. Most if not all the Leave votes were from people with perfectly reasonable issues with the current status quo, such as the fact that our public services and housing cannot cope with many more people due to chronic under-funding and mismanagement (hospital waiting areas are stuffed to the brim, and you'd be lucky to see a foot patrolling police officer around my area). In addition, due to the EU's trading mandate, currently the UK limits trade to non-EU countries- if we do leave, countries such as China, Commonwealth countries and the US will line up to sign new trade agreements. Plus, the economic shock brought on by the Brexit will only be a short term thing; currently the pound is recovering to healthier levels and is nowhere near the lows of 2008. The EU started off with good intentions, as a means of trade between neighbor states, but it's slowly evolved into a practical dictatorship with unelected leaders and ridiculous laws that in practice can't work everywhere for every member state. For this reason, leaving the EU for more autonomy in our affairs seems like it could work in the long term; we don't have to fully pull out and still have some of the membership benefits in addition to expanded trade, but no one really knows what will happen once we formally leave, making the whole exercise a risky step in the short term. I have to say though, having Boris Johnson as PM would make BBC Parliament a lot more entertaining to watch, it would be like a four-hour long improvised standup comedy.

  10. It'll be interesting to see if this can be developed as a plugin or maybe even an official feature somewhere in the future.
  11. That sounds good, seeing as most people spawn in a ton of backup (I tried spawning many MP peds, and got to about 30 before it crashed). It would certainly be nice to have backup that isn't made up completely of bald middle-aged LSPD officers. Incidentally, what sort of rules would need to be applied for a script like that? say you spawn in a character that's supposed to be LSSD backup, then the script would spawn the ped with forced upper_003 etc. and with random values for facial details/appearance.
  12. That was my thinking- perhaps using the backup.xml we could specify exactly which combinations of facial details, hair etc. each ped could use as a random chance, so that there would be a pool of appearance options available that the user could customize to their liking. I wonder if the game could actually spawn a lot of these MP peds and randomize them without crashing? it would certainly test the limits of the game engine, but looking at how Online handles it I don't know.
  13. While using Emergency Uniforms Pack, an idea struck me- what if we could replace the backup or wanted level police response peds with the multiplayer peds using EUP? that way, every single officer responding would have a unique appearance, making the game much more realistic. I know it's probably impossible due to the game's limits, but we can dream.
  14. Just GTA 5's first-grader level physics.
  15. Well yes I suppose, but what I'm getting at is changing the default game's cops to use them, like a .ymt file.
  16. As I'm trying to get a more retro policing style of game going (70s-80s cars etc.) I wonder if it's possible to set the default pistol weapon the cops use to the revolver. Is there a file I can edit to make this happen? I've seen mods that change it to the combat pistol, so it's probably achievable.
