  1. I find that a lot of people tend to say that police cars are idled 24 hours a day. While this can be the case in certain states and countries, it doesn't apply to all police agencies and vehicles. I understand that the RCMP in my area tend to idle their cars at calls and scenes, but otherwise they're parked at the local detachment as the police officer in charge of the vehicle performs regular detachment duties such as paperwork. I also know the statement that the cars are idled when they're parked outside the coffee shop, which again, applies to agencies elsewhere. Personally, every time I've been to a Tim Hortons or other food places where there was a police car and member there, the car wasn't even turned on. I find that to say the cars were idled 24/7 is an exaggeration. Again, though, it varies. There are a few police cars I've seen that have small amounts of hours, nothing too crucial. Especially RCMP that serve rural areas are good because most of their kilometers are highway driven, so they're not idling at traffic lights every 2 minutes. Just my 2 cents, RCMP vehicles are never idled for 24 hours a day...
  2. They probably mean that it's the final product, since the game has gone gold. This is the 'official' trailer showing off the final product of the game.

  4. I'm going to explore the map quite a bit first, I think. I don't really know yet, I just want the game haha :p
  5. As stated here: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51254/gtav-official-site-update-exclusive-country-clubs-local-artisans.html
  6. Go to an auction - you'll save tons of money. Buying from kijiji or ebay or whatever the heck - you're spending like 2,500 or whatever. An auction you could drive away in a 2008 Crown Vic ex-CPS you got for 1,250. I was at an auction the other weekend to experience an auction for the first time, and they had late model crown vics going for dirt cheap, almost no problems! I don't know if BC has many auctions though.
  7. I am pretty sure they are normally only allowed to wear them during special events or whenever the detachment commander allows the use of them with normal patrol wear. I wouldn't say it's up to the members themselves though. You could always give the local detachments administrative line a call and ask, no harm in doing so. (I'm sure they have had stranger calls than someone inquiring about the hat protocol).
  8. Or the old people who drive Crown Vics...
  9. Not the largest image but you can see an ambulance in the left side exiting the hopsital.

  13. Example: TODAY: They should release a PC version PETITION HAS 250,000 SIGNATURES! RUMOURS!!!!! MAKE 100,000,000 TOPICS SO ROCKSTAR KNOWS WE WANT A PC VERSION!!! AFTER ANNOUNCEMENTS OMG PC VERSION WOOOOOO PC VERSION IT NEEDS TO COME OUT RIGHT NOW MAKE 100,000,000 TOPICS SO EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THEY ANNOUNCED A PC VERSION!!! It'll be just as bad after they announce it, just like now when they haven't announced it.
  14. If they keep the PC version quiet for now, people will keep yapping about it. If they release any details about the PC version, there's going to be talk about it. Trust me, if they release ANY details about the PC version, forums will go boom with the news, it won't make any difference if they keep it quiet or if they release info.
  15. Yeah, it's a core i3, it can handle GTA IV. But like they said, with the other specs; it'll barely handle it.
  16. Should be 'R'. If not go into options and check for the 'radio' button in the key section.
  17. Valve can't count to three, so I doubt it.
  18. It's coming out on console on September 17th, this year.
  19. Yep, but the second I throw the modded one in there, or try and edit the file myself the game crashes upon start-up.
  20. It works amazingly for me. Spots where I used to get an FPS drop don't really have effect anymore and the game does, as you mentioned, run smoother. Thanks!
  21. I replaced the pedvariations.dat, crashed. Replaced it with my backup and I can use the models fine.
  22. He's not talking about a speedometer, he wants an odometer. The odometer is the green numbers, showing how many miles the vehicle has been driven.
  23. Assuming the fire department is volunteer, that means people have to leave their homes, jobs etc to respond, and be there (fire station) in about 5 minutes, then however long it takes to gear up (should be under a minute to get full turnouts on), then with the added five minutes of travel as posted above, there's 10-15 minutes right there. If the department is a fully staffed, full time department then I can see where you're coming from, but I'm just saying, volunteer firefighters all have other stuff they're doing rather than doing regular duties at the fire station... (EDIT: Just found the fire dept's website, they're a volly company.)
