A Little Piece of History from Silverlake Police
From the album: Terminated
Silverlake Police takes Silverlake Residents back in time by taking one of their old patrol cars and placing it with two newer patrol units. The older patrol car is pictured on the left, with the newer units being in the center and on the right. The old markings were in service from 2003-2014. Three old patrol cars remain in service for reserve duties and community service duties, and are rarely seen on Silverlake Streets as of this day. -

Alternatives to college and military for law enforcment?
Volunteer experience is probably the biggest thing that most police agencies in Canada look for, and can imagine that most in the U.S. do aswell. By getting out there and showing a genuine interest in helping your community and helping others is what they're looking for. Multiple places are always looking for volunteers, food banks, libraries, fire departments (if they're volly), etc. Some sort of post-secondary also helps. My recruiter told me that you don't have to take a policing degree to get a job as a law enforcement officer. Trades, such as computer science, etc, that can give you some sort of an advantage as an officer are also good. But overall, giving some of your time to give back to your community is what they like to see. So I'd recommend volunteering.

POLICE EXAM
Unfortunately, you made a mistake, and you're no longer eligible for appointment as a peace officer in any State or Country at this time. I know an individual who was turned down because they had two charges on their youth record, one count of Consuming Alcohol while Underage, and another for Being Intoxicated in a Public Space. They remained squeaky clean from then on but the police still turned them down for something that happened when they were a teenager. That individual is in a bit of a better position than you are, however, because they will still accept them, they just have to remain clean for another three years of any detected and undetected criminal activity, and they will have another shot at applying. I can't think of any time I've heard of an individual being accepted into the police with a felony charge on an adult record. Regardless to the fact if it has been pardoned or not. If it's there, chances are they'll kindly show you the door. As much as it does suck to have to face the fact that you are no longer eligible for the appointment, don't let me, or anyone else here stop you. If you want to still go ahead and attempt to get a pardon for the offence, and attempt to take entry exams for different agencies, go for it. I just highly doubt that any agency you attempt to apply for is going to see a felony involving some sort of bb gun, and allow you to carry a real firearm. If you're incapable of handling a bb gun, which is treated as a firearm, they're not going to be able to trust you with handling a real, live, firearm.

POLICE EXAM
An airsoft, pellet, bb gun, paintball gun, etc, are all treated as a firearm. They may not fire bullets, but they do shoot a projectile that can cause serious harm if you're not on a field with proper protective clothing/eye protection. Any weapon of that sort will always be treated as a firearm, especially if it's black without an orange tip. It even says on most, if not all airsoft gun instructions to 'treat the weapon as if it were a real firearm'.

A Sad, Rainy Day for Silverlake Police
From the album: Terminated
An Officer of the Silverlake Police Department dips his hat in remorse while standing at his traffic control post at a fatal Motor Vehicle Collision that occurred just behind him. A Silverlake Police vehicle was involved in a T-Bone collision, after a vehicle ran a red light, and slammed into the drivers side of the police vehicle at a high rate of speed. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot, and a search is now underway for the driver of that vehicle. Unfortunately despite the best efforts of the Fire and EMS personnel on scene, the officer in the police vehicle involved, who has yet to be named, passed away on the scene. This incident is just one of two tragic incidents that happened in Silverlake today, as just earlier this morning, a suspect was shot and killed by police during a pursuit. Police do not believe these two incidents are connected, and do believe speed and alcohol were a factor in the collision. -

Silverlake Road Shut Down after Police Pursuit
From the album: Terminated
Three lanes of 64th avenue remain closed tonight after a police pursuit ensued for twenty minutes through the streets of Silverlake. Police were pursuing a stolen Dodge Viper that was located driving around in Lower Silverlake. The driver fled from police immediately, and led police on a lengthy pursuit which then ended on 64th Avenue after the suspect lost control of his vehicle. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and began to shoot at police with a firearm, resulting in the suspect being shot and killed by police. A full investigation has been launched and the scene is still under investigation. No officers were physically harmed in the shooting and have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. No other details are available at this time. Fatal Crash in Silverlake on Sunday Morning
From the album: Terminated
It was a sunny morning in Silverlake on Sunday, but it certainly was a dark day for First Responders as they received a 911 call shortly after 6 AM, stating that a vehicle had crashed on Highway 64. When Police Officers arrived on the scene, they located a single female approximately 65 feet from the crashed vehicle. Police do believe the female was the driver of the vehicle, and they stated that it's evident that she was ejected from the vehicle as it lost control, and eventually crashed. Police are unsure as to the cause of the crash, but they do believe speed was a factor, and are not ruling out alcohol. Fire and EMS Crews started working on the Female, and she was eventually transported to Timberwolfe Memorial Hospital in Lower Silverlake, where she succumbed to her injuries. Police and Fire officials remain on the scene, and Silverlake City Police have called in their Elite Collision Reconstruction Team to investigate the collision further. It's believed the vehicle was travelling Westbound on Highway 64 when it lost control, and ended up in the Eastbound lanes. Fortunately, there were not many vehicles on the roadway and no other individuals have been harmed. Police are not releasing the identity of the female until family have been notified, and police say there will be an update on the situation later tonight. Full Album: http://imgur.com/a/YLYx6 -
