  1. Sounds good, I'll see if I can get a free trial for 3ds Max after I get off work, I think I have photoshop already. DrDetroit
  2. Live tutorial?? When...where...was not aware or I'd have joined the lesson. If you do another one, please advise, I'm down. DrDetroit
  3. These stabbings/shootings are probably due to psychotropic drugs that these kids are taking...Zoloft and the like. I would bet $1 to a doughnut that this is the causal link between all these lunatic kids going nuts on classmates. These ads even disclose side-effects, say something like "may cause depression, suicidal thoughts, and death..." something to that effect. You never heard of these things happening when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, and back then kids were not taking these dangerous drugs, and killiing their classmates, that absolutely alter the personalities of people. Funny how these two things seem to go hand-in-hand. Anecdotal? Maybe but I do not think so. DrDetroit
  4. Funny, when I reduce textures and some other settings, it seems to lag my game a bit. I bump it to max, runs smoother. Looking forward to a proper gaming rig very soon. DrDetroit
  5. Too bad Abraxas isn't around any longer, for the time being anyhow. He could implement something like this with his Police Helper mod and sync it to the ped data using the API. Looked like he had some nice new features implemented prior to him losing his job. Hope he found a new field of endeavor, would be nice to see him around again. DrDetroit
  6. You have a bit faster computer than mine (the processor anyhow), and I get an average of 30FPS...drops to 20-24 sometimes when things are very active, but not often and very playable. Not as smooth as some of these guys get with their nice rigs, but it does the trick for now. My game is modded pretty good too. Try this command line, it is why I'm able to get higher FPS...allows my graphics card to use 2 of the 4-gig of vRam I have available. Without the command line I get like 15FPS. -availablevidmem 2 -noprecache -novblank -norestrictions -nomemrestrict Some here will say the last two lines contradict the first line (the first line maximizes the ram usage of the vid card), but when I remove either or both of those lines, my FPS drops by 10. I've played around with it and it works well for my machine. EDIT: I also use lower res trees and whatnot...there is a pack at GTA4-mods that downgrades the resolution of certain ancillary models, like trees and distance drawing, ect. I don't even notice any of it at all, but perked up my FPS by several points. I also shut down all unnecessary background programs via Task Manager, and I also run MemTurbo4, which helps with texture loss, when I use too many high-poly cars. Good luck! DrDetroit
  7. Very nicely done vid. You are using the same non-els FBI I use...nice car. Only thing; the gun rapport is terrible, sounds like somebody hitting/fisting a flank of beef. Good day, DrDetroit
  8. I get a good 1.5-2 hours before the game crashes...or the script crashes (my game don't crash too often - scripts crash more often). I can usually quit the game when I play. I only mod my nstockade, fbi, polpat and noose with els and nice higher poly cars. Everything else kept with updated original GTAIV cars (thanks Ekalb). I have modded many civilian peds, including all cop peds with no issues. I use a cruise control mod, Police Helper, Callouts+ and another one I can't remember at the moment. I had to remove Bravehearts Policing Script so I get better FPS and seems to have eliminated crashing. EDIT: No ENBs here either, but I do use a really nice Time Cycle which adds brilliance to the graphics without the crashing and FPS loss...I think from Sgt Kanyo...could be mistaken. It's here in the LCPDFR download page. Good luck! DrDetroit
  9. Are you sure?? Could have sworn....
  10. Requiem is correct...they are here arlready. Just go to Louisville Kentucky! DrDetroit
  11. Would be nice if someone would put those type rim/tires on the GTAV cars.
  12. Yeeaahh...I'll wait for the real thing. Come on R*...we have money in-hand...just waiting to give it to you. This is from a guy who bought a PS3 just for GTAV (and RDR too). DrDetroit
  13. Try getting rid of one...like polpat. Then run the game, see if that fixed it. Also, when modding the game, install one mod at a time, then play the game for awhile. This way you know if the mod is compatable. If you install several mods at once, and your game crashes, you'll never figure out which one(s) is(are) causing issue. Backup your game too...just in-case. I have separate backups of my image files too, for when a ped mod or car mod totally messes up my install, I can just replace that .img file. Good luck! DrDetroit
  14. Didn't the head pastor for that group just die of a heart attack or something? I could be thinking of another loon though. DrDetroit
  15. Police Helper has an INI, located in the scripts folder of your main GTAIV folder. What I did was turn off the ambient settings, the second and third line down in the .ini file, to 0 (off). Seems to have alleviated crashing issues for me, without having to remove PH. Also, if you use the Braveheart Policing Script, that could cause crashes and lag. I, unfortunately, had to remove mine as it added some lag (I have a decent rig, but nothing awesome...I run at 28-33 FPS, high settings, low water, low shadows without BPS...but run about 20-25 with it installed). When I upgrade my box later this month, I'll pop it back in, as it's a decent script to use with LCPDFR. Good luck! P.S; you may want to put this question in the "Support" section of LCPDFR. DrDetroit
  16. Ahhhhh...wall of text....Ahhhhhh....!!! JK. I've actually never seen that before, except the usual one in front of the museum. I've seen the ambient drug deal hand-off a few times though, that's pretty cool too, although you got to be paying attention to see it if you have the action cam shut off. I'll definitely keep an eye open for that cop-stop ambient scenario. DrDetroit
  17. Good idea OP...most of the work to implement it would probably be the guy writing out the random ped data records for LCPDFR to reference. Also might add who the car is registers as well, as it would help when trying to figure out if you want to arrest a guy for a ALPR "stolen vehicle" alert. Sometimes the driver will not have warrants or even tickets, but he's got a stolen vehicle. If busy I just assume he "borrowed" the car, let him/her go. Good day, DrDetroit
  18. Imagine getting issued that ugly thing to drive around in...I'd be like; "thanks a pant load Sarge!". DrDetroit
  19. Yup, you can do that. There is a LCPDFR folder in your main game folder, the LCPDFR.ini is in that folder and the line in the .ini you are looking for is: SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE; The folder location should look something like this (I use EFLC, so my folders reflect this): C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto IV Episodes from Liberty CityEFLClcpdfr You can change the car you want the perp picked up with, just open the lcpdfr.ini to do so. You can change the weapons in your trunk wth the .ini file, as well as other game configurations. I have a HK416 in mine. Also, there is a configuration program included with LCPDFR...I think if you run that you can also select which car picks up the perp. Either way should work. Good luck! DrDetroit
  20. Cheers on your B'day! DrDetroit
  21. Nice vids...pretty crazy footage. I wonder why they block out the HUD time/date stamps though. Good post! DrDetroit
  22. Is the free game Dead Space any good? DrDetroit
  23. With all the money they take in,2-3 trillion a year...now they want more for roads! Bull!! You have to understand, there is NEVER enough money for these leeches...never enough. That is why we have a $17 trillion deficit. We could all give the government all our money and wealth and it still would not be enough for these morons. To your point, I already, and you, and everyone here who drives, pays a road tax in the form of a gas tax. That revenue stream is supposed to be used 100% for roads. It's obviously not. It's been stolen and reallocated. So no; more money will not fix anything. Waking up to what is happening is the only thing that will fix these problems. And a lot of accountability. How about if congress screws up the budget, they should be personally liable for their actions. I bet that would fix things. EDIT: would you trust a full-blown crack head $200 to pay your telephone bill. I think not. Why would you give these crack-heads more of your hard earned money willingly, assuming they will pay bills with it. Why would anybody willingly let them track you and everywhere you drive? That is what it takes to collect a "driving tax". Not only do they want your money, they want to track every movement you make in your car. That ain't what I call freedom. DrDetroit
  24. Because to succeed in politics, is the exact opposite of what it takes to succeed as a entrepreneur. A full 180-degree difference. To succeed in politics, you have to have leverage against someone else (whether real or fiction), and ability to lie right in the face of the folks (..you can keep your plan...PERIOD!) and accept bribes, coercion and nepitisim. Plus you need millions of dollars to run for anything these days, so you have to grease everybody up so they give you money (EDIT: i.e big business...which only employes 3-4% of the US population...small entrepreneurs employ upwards of 97% of the working population...so don't be fooled by "we're going after big business with these policies"...they are going after the small guy, not the big guy) . Unfortunately politics has nothing to do with achievement and the ability to run and manage anything successfully and meeting/exceeding expectations. It's all about image and fallacy for most in politics. Generally the lowest of the low in society. I'm not saying we don't need Government, we do. A Government that protects the freedom of the individual and his/hers rights...not the collective. A very limited and weak government...not the monolithic leviathan we all have to deal with these days. That is what we use to have, not anymore. DrDetroit
