  1. Here's a couple of videos showing how response driving should be done. The first one features the London Metropolitan Police and their brilliant Rover SD1 V8 powered units doing a liver run from Stansted Airport to a hospital located just off Cromwell road in Kensington, right though the heart of London, some of the busiest roads in Europe. NOTE, this is the entire television episode (Police, Camera, Action!) which is 22 minutes long, only cutting a short amount of the actual run. Edit: I just noticed that the coppers used their ProViDa system to measure their average speed of the run, gotta love coppers. Secondly there's this, the FRU, Forward Response Unit with the London Fire Brigade, it shows some stellar driving right though the centre of London, going the wrong way down the road multiple times: Driving like that is sadly a thing of the past in the UK, where the Health & Safety people would die if they saw such driving, I've seen similar driving here though. Happy new year to everyone.
  2. Not really, I know that the devs are trying to only use items that are found in the original game, I remember seeing some police barricades in a cutscene during the bank heist mission.
  3. It's an easter egg.
  4. Caines Charger has a polygon count of around 50,000, that's 100,000 less than the common CVPI models has, which can also be seen in the difference in file sizes, the Whelen Liberty Carger I used had a combined file size of 2 MB (1 MB for .WTD and 1MB for .WFT), whereas CVPI's are usually around 4 MB (1MB for the WTD and 3MB for the WFT). When I used that model as both police and police2, I experienced my fewer crashes, and a higher average frame-rate.
  5. Didn't you read my post, it's a WIP, try the link I provided, that pack might have a CVPI with a Vector lightbar.
  6. What, GPM is down, what a surprise.... Rextex128 uploaded a NYPD pack, witch can be found here, I might have Caines CVPI. On a side note: Site owner and mod creator "Luxaid" (not affiliated/associated with Luxart and/or Lt. Caine) at IV:First Response uploaded a photo of a WIP, which looks promising.
  7. You can't, the costs of keeping LCPDFR.com running is paid out of pocket from Sam and Jay, as they want to keep it free for everyone.
  8. What about the "Less overtaking mod", that keeps people from trying to overtake you when stopped in traffic. It doesn't work on traffic stops, but is perfectly fine when driving around in LC.
  9. Nice work, I've been looking for a Whelen Alpha with pier for a while, did you replace the horn with a car horn, or a bullhorn?
  10. I've been pondering about sorting myself out with a car or two myself, I might give it a shot now.

  13. I think that effect is there with the normal camera as well, bring it down low and you'll see roughly the same effect. As you said, this is not a gameplay mod, it'll make it damn near impossible to play, it's solely to capture images and videos in game. It can be trick to control the camera, especially when using the cinema mode, where it tends to fly about a lot, but it works like a charm once you get the hang of it.
  14. Ahh, the way it's supposed to be watched, I'll be doing a better "basics of Winterberg" over the weekend, I'll upload it soon.
  15. I might just do some shameless promotion on this thread, my first Winterberg commentary video in a while just finished uploading, it does involve a rather large incident. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udE0UYBoo7A
  16. This might interest all you avid gallery uploaders and video creators, there's a mod called Cam Control, the name says it all, you are given complete control over the camera, allowing you to move it around freely. If you've seen some of my latest LCPDFR videos you will have noticed that there's b-roll (YES, WE GOT THAT B-ROLL) of various locations in Liberty City, which was shot using Cam Control. Be advised that the keys conflict with LCPDFR keys. It's just a quick notice, I have nothing to do with the mod whatsoever, post in the original topic if you need help.
  17. If you have a suspect that's non-cooperative, you go hands- on, if the suspect continues to fight, then pepper spray should be used, if the suspect has a gun, then you respond proportionally with your own service pistol. The US cops uses the taser pretty loosely, if the guy runs from officers, he gets tased, if the guy struggles with officers, he get tased, if he has a gun, he is shot in the face, it works there because the police can use heavy handed methods, I can't see it work. I can't even see the need for it here as we already have enough weapons to our officers disposal as it is. I do not see the need for officers to have tasers when they carry a firearm in the first place, the UK could benefit of issuing tasers to a broader amount of officers as they're largely unarmed.
  18. A large amount of cannabis plants and weapons were also found in a warehouse/storage building, the same location where the 50 year old cleaning lady was found, So far a 17 month old baby, as well as two teenagers, aged 13 &15 are dead as a result of the incident, and, a 75 year old woman in on life support, being clinically dead (what's the difference?).
  19. Our officers do not need, or want tasers, they already have baton, pepper spray and a service pistol (USP), adding another weapon to the kit would cause uncertainty about which weapon to use in a given situation, plus our cops are in shape, so they can actually chase people on foot. A lot of officers sees no need for it either, it would just add to the already decent amount of equipment on the belt, not to mention the added costs that comes along with it.
  20. Let's get some of those NYPD parking enforcement three-wheeler scooters in game as well... I doubt that many would actually use the function, as Mage25 said, I play LCPDFR on a half/half basis, half realism, half fun, there should be a lot fewer callouts, the shootings needed to be drastic reduced, the likeliness of a pursuit likewise. I'm not saying that LCPDFR is turning into PPM, but there's a reason for why there's only cool and awesome shit in it, and not all the crap parts of policing.
  21. That's the result of some over-excited officer cocking up, thankfully it seems that his fellow officers will take the piss on him for the rest of his service life.
  22. I am greeted by a very long list of tickets whenever I check out the development hub, everyone of the devs are working to the best of their abilities while the rest of us staff/CT's tires to distract them with various multiplayer games and general annoyance.
  23. A lot of the earlier World events was taken back out, and likely won't be added again in the final 0.95 Release, Sam and everyone else is working as much as they can on it, mainly focusing on bug fixing. They might get added in a future release, but it would delay the 0.95 release even further if they'd have to find and fix bugs related to those events. World events such as the vehicle pursuit, drunktard and bomb threat has been taken out again.
  24. Only to get taken down by a cop, that faceplant didn't sound too nice, but that's what you get for running from the rozzers.
  25. Common sense does the job for me. I'll argue the "theives are stupid": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKGYvPHsIa
