AI search backup is really coming along! The likelihood of a ped being seen by a nearby search crew is now scaled depending on the time of day, the current weather, whether they're under the water, and what type of vehicle is searching for them. I'm also very relieved to report that all my parts for my new computer finally came and are installed! To celebrate, here is a nice high-quality shot from the heli cam of the new 47' Motor Life Boat assisting with a search using the new search backup AI: Thanks to everyone who has joined the beta recently for all your feedback, ideas, and bug reports! For everyone else who is eagerly anticipating the mod, there should be a couple more teaser videos pretty soon for you to enjoy!

Is there a spring steam sale coming soon?
Who knows. But GTA V is on sale for 50% off on Steam right now, and it's unlikely to ever be any cheaper than that.

Today we have another video, this time from @JordanDevlin! More boat patrols here, and also a good look at one of the USCG uniforms included in the upcoming Service Uniforms Pack.

Check out the latest Coastal Callouts teaser episode, this time by @gmantonz. This is another boat-based episode, and features a rescue mission, a couple of boat pursuits, and a brief preview of the new search backup feature demonstrating that I still have some work to do there!

[REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion Thread
Finally got RPH working on my new PC! Still waiting for the GPU to arrive, but that's enough to at least let me work on the mod. Today in "this callout idea seems absurd but is actually realistic and surprisingly challenging," we have "aids to navigation assistance". All silliness aside (although I do expect this to become a callout, I've just written a couple lines of code to test that this is possible), I'm continuing to work on and improve features. My current focus includes: Polishing the search backup. This is working much better now, but I still have some work to do with making the search AI's detection chances realistically depend on weather, time of day, and distance from the search targets. Boat dropoff. Much like the helicopter dropoff which I previewed in a video previously, I will be adding locations you can drop off patients from your boat. Improvements to various AI functionality, including boat pursuit AI and copilot AI. Beta testers have found some specific issues with these which I plan to address, and I plan to give all the AI functionality a significant overhaul at some point to improve on some issues and add new features. A drug callout is now underway! Drug smuggling callouts were much-requested, so I'm working on that now. The 47' Motor Life Boat model is coming along nicely, although we haven't started on the interior yet which will definitely take some work to make good. Got working radar, working spotlights, working emergency light, and 4 working seats (which I will be adding more). Big thanks to SkylineGTRFreak for doing most of the work in converting that model. Just a friendly reminder that the beta is currently available to anybody who joins my Parks Benefactor program! Thanks for following along, and as always, feel free to leave any comments, questions, or suggestions.

CHP CALLOUTS!!!!
My advice to people who want to see very specific callouts, is to learn how to make callouts - because then you can make any callout you want. It's actually pretty easy to get started developing callouts for LSPDFR. Check out the API Development section of the forums, where there's tons of tutorials and getting started guides. All the tools are free!

[WIP, REL] Better EMS
Questions about how to install vehicles are outside the scope of Better EMS. I would advise posting a request for help in the appropriate forum here. A lot of people are subscribed to get notifications whenever somebody comments on this file, so this type of off-topic discussion can really clutter up people's notifications.

Congratulations to @5Rya who won the random drawing for beta access to somebody who had liked the post before the deadline. I will PM you with information on how to join the beta! We've also got the new life boat working in-game - it floats and moves! It needs quite a bit more work still at this point, but it's coming along nicely. I'm rebuilding my computer today (my processor was supposed to be here a month ago and it finally arrived!) so there won't be any major updates this weekend while I'm working on getting it back up and running. Stay tuned for some updates next week though as I continue to add more features and callouts. There will hopefully be some new Coastal Callouts episodes on YouTube soon too, which I will make sure to post here for everyone to enjoy.

[REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion Thread
A few updates for you all this morning: Thank you to everybody who has joined the Parks Benefactor program! Everyone who has joined as of the time of this post should have received their beta access info by now. Thank you to Jordan Devlin for generously purchasing the 47' Motor Life Boat model for us! SkylineGTRFreak is working on converting it to GTA, and it will be added to the Coastal Callouts DLC! The next model we're trying to get is a 45' Response Boat Medium. This model is a bit more expensive than the previous one, so we're trying to split the cost between a few people. I've already gotten 2 people who are interested in chipping in, so we're about half way there. Please PM me if you'd like to help out - the offer still stands that if you contribute towards buying this model you'll get immediate beta access! I made quite a bit of progress adding new features to the mod yesterday, including Search Backup AI. If you watched Darkmyre's helicopter episode you'll know that it can be very challenging to find the rescue victims sometimes. Search Backup will make those calls a little bit easier and more interesting. The Search Backup menu will let you call in planes, helis, and boats to search the area you specify. The position of any subjects they locate will be reported to you over the radio and marked on the map. There are realistic limits on how many of each type of backup you can request, and you can dynamically change the search area and radius. That's all for this update! Don't forget to like the beta announcement post to be entered for a chance to win beta access, and stay tuned for more updates soon.

[REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion Thread
Announcing the Coastal Callouts Beta! I am very pleased to finally announce that Coastal Callouts is now in semi-public beta. To kick off the occasion, we have two new LSPDFR episodes from some of my favorite youtubers and fellow LSPDFR developers, @Darkmyre and @Albo1125. Please check out these videos to get a small preview of some of the features of Coastal Callouts! Rest assured this is just the beginning, there are several other callouts already in progress that are available to testers but not quite ready for videos, and many other features and callouts which are in progress and didn't make it into these two episodes. Development of the mod is still ongoing, and it's not ready for release. In particular, I have yet to start working on an installer for the DLC, and I have numerous important features of the mod that are still incomplete or need significant improvement. However, it is at a point where it is stable enough and easy enough to use that I feel comfortable inviting more people to participate in the beta process. To keep the size of the testing team manageable, I have decided to make the beta available to people who have provided assistance in the development process, and to Parks Benefactors - people who have donated to support my mods. If you helped in the creation of this mod in some way, you should have already received an invitation via PM, and if you have already donated you should have received information about the Parks Benefactor program. For those who have not yet joined, you can join the Parks Benefactor program at https://parksmods.com/donate/. Please take note that the lowest donation level, "parks supporter," does not include access to unreleased mods like Coastal Callouts, it only includes early access to updates to existing mods like Custom Backup and Better EMS. If you do chose to donate at the Parks Benefactor level or above, you will be granted beta access to all of my modifications, including Coastal Callouts and updates to all of my other plugins. Full details and terms & conditions are available on the web page above. Please make sure to accurately fill out your username on the donation form. After your donation is received, I will contact you via email or private message to invite you to the beta testing discord server, and get you set up to install and test the mod. In addition to joining the Parks Benefactor program, you can also get access to the Coastal Callouts beta through any of the following: Purchasing a 3D model that can be used with the Coastal Callouts DLC. Please PM me for information about what models are needed and which ones would be appropriate. Anybody who buys a model we need will get beta access, but you must confirm with me first to make sure somebody else hasn't already bought the model, and that it's suitable for conversion to GTA V. Make a donation of $50 or more to the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, or JDRF. Please put PNWParksFan as the person you are donating on behalf of if the form has a place to specify. Then, PM me a screenshot of your donation receipt email, ensuring that the donation date, your email address, and the donation being on behalf of me are shown. If you currently or previously served in the US Coast Guard, and have some experience previously playing LSPDFR (e.g. you know how to install mods and are comfortable with basic LSPDFR gameplay) please send me a PM to be considered for beta participation. I will randomly choose one person who has liked this post by 11:59 PM US Pacific Time on Friday, February 10th to receive free beta access! Thank you again to everybody who has helped this mod get to this point, and especially to everybody who has already joined the Parks Benefactor program. I am looking forward to getting feedback from this wider audience, and continuing to improve the mod until it's ready for general release!

[REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion Thread
Right now the only boat we have for the DLC are a regular GTA dinghy with lights added, and the 25' Defender boat which is a small boat for use in ports and close-in waters. So would you guys like to see a proper 47' Motor Lifeboat model in the game? This would be for rescue callouts in rough seas off-shore. We've found a model that would work well that Skyline can convert. Unfortunately the model isn't free, although it's pretty cheap for being a good model. I just bought the MH-65C Dolphin model yesterday, but if anyone else wants to contribute by purchasing this model I'll compensate you with immediate beta access to Coastal Callouts. PM me for more info! Those videos and accompanying announcements I mentioned are coming soon, just waiting on a certain somebody to finish recording theirs and get it all uploaded ;)

[REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion Thread
Time for some quick updates on the DLC pack! We are very fortunate that @SkylineGTRFreak is on holiday this week and has had some time to work on his models! The MH-60 Jayhawk will now have full LODs New MH-65C Dolphin helicopter, with full LODs and now with retractable landing gear (thanks to @Delco24 for figuring that one out) The USCG 25' Defender Boat will also be getting full LODs and some other fixes Edits to some meta files which will result in coast guard helis spawning flying around the marina area and landing at the coast guard base Also, if you haven't been following the Service Uniforms Project by Alex Ashfold, it will include both Coast Guard, Port Police, and Life Guard outfits for multiplayer peds (similar to EUP). Check out the preview gallery to see all the awesome uniforms that are under development with that! I have also started working on some new features, including a much-requested "drug smuggling" callout with several dynamic variations to how the callout can go, and I've started developing an AI search feature which will allow you to request backup from planes, helis, and boats to help you search for rescue victims. I'm also very excited to finally say that the first Coastal Callouts teaser videos will be posted here later today. Two episodes will be posted today, with @Albo1125 highlighting some of the boat-based features of the mod in his episode, and @Darkmyre highlighting some of the helicopter-based features in his. As soon as those are ready to go live, I will also be posting information about how to join the Coastal Callouts beta. Stay tuned for more updates very soon! EDIT: Here is a sneak peak at that beautiful new MH-65C by SkylineGTRFreak:

[WIP] [REL] Custom Backup by Location
I'm going to just make a wild guess that you may have ELS 1.0.0 and so ELS vehicles are spawning far away and then being deleted by ELS. Try upgrading ELS.
-
Contruction equipment and uniforms
There's also this DOT truck You could use the s_m_y_construct_01 and _02 peds. Or you can wait until Service Uniforms Pack is released (it's from the creators of EUP but for non-police uniforms), it will have various construction outfits.

Better EMS
If you set the AI ELS control distance in your ELS.ini file to a very large value (10000 or so), then ELS vehicles should work with Better EMS.

Better EMS
There is nothing to be done on my end to support ELS. ELS has some bugs which can cause issues when using ELS vehicles with Better EMS. There is literally nothing I can do to fix those bugs, only the author of ELS can fix them.

[ELS] Vapid Ambulance
This is what an ELS ambulance should be. The model itself is high-quality (credit to LtCaine for that of course) with proper LODs and no glitches that I found during testing. There are also already plenty of skins for this ambulance as it uses the same template as the RDE ambulance and the "default EMS pack" ambulance based on the same base model. Ample scene lighting all around the ambulance White light cut-off adds realism Realistic light setup, with no annoying split lightheads or anything like that I do wish it had a full interior, but for what it is this ambulance is very fun to use. WARNING TO BETTER EMS USERS: If you're going to use this ambulance with Better EMS, make sure that you set your INI file to enable ELS control over AI vehicles at a very high value - I'd suggest 10000. Otherwise if you have ELS 1.00 it will crash sometimes because ELS deletes vehicles that are far away, or if you have ELS 1.05 the ambulance will sometimes spawn with all the lights off, and they will not turn on even when it gets closer to the player. This is due to a bug in ELS; there's nothing I can do in Better EMS or that Patrol31 can do in the model to resolve this.

Canada: shooting in a muslim centre
Please don't use your website to spread unverified and polarizing news. Right-wing extremist websites were reporting that "one of the shooters" was shouting Allah Akbar, and that the attackers were Muslim/Syrian/Moroccan. This was all speculation at best, and intentionally inflammatory at worse. The police are now officially reporting that there was only one shooter, who was a local student. There has been no detailed official information released about the suspect, and the police specifically have not commented on any perceived motivations for the attack. However, officials have released his name, and reputable sources are reporting that he is a well-known nationalist extremist who is active in extreme-right anti-foreigner and anti-feminism websites. Honestly I expect better from the person responsible for running lcpdfr.com than to be spreading false information. Whether you intend to push a narrative or just took what you read elsewhere at face value without questioning the source, it brings down the level of discourse and further contributes to online fear and manipulation. I hope you'll consider more carefully before posting unverified info about high-profile and emotionally charged events in the future.

[REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion Thread
Just a quick update on what's been going on! Yes, development is still ongoing. Private beta testers have been doing a great job finding lots of bugs, which I've been working hard on fixing. Stability and user-friendliness has been significantly improved. Created two new training callouts specifically to help new users of the mod figure out how all the advanced features work, in a fun and interactive way rather than reading a manual (I know yall never look at those readmes...) Lots of work on making the mod more user-configurable and user-friendly. Currently working on adding a system so you can drop off rescued victims at hospitals or heli pads, where they will either be wheeled in by doctors or taken away in an ambulance. This is sort of similar to how you drop off arrested peds in LSPDFR. Working on improving the variation and quality of the callouts. Can't give too many details here, as I don't want to spoil the fun, but you can look forward to very dynamic callouts, ranging from ridiculous and humorous ones, to very challenging and serious calls with lives on the line. Thanks for following these updates! And, keep an close eye on this page... there will be some exciting new information coming out soon about public beta testing!
