  1. As stated before, if you are replacing or adding vehicles, you will need a GTA4 archive manager (I personally recommend OpenIV for vehicle modifications) However, if you are only replacing files, there exists several vehicle mod installers. I've used this one before I knew how to use OpenIV to replace files, and it's pretty decent.
  2. By "no glow around it", do you mean it looks like this? If so, open up your .../common/data/visualsettings.dat and find this: car.defaultlight.emissive.on 10.00 (note: number may vary) Crank that up as high as you want it. Just know that if you crank it up too high (see spoiler) it will affect taxi signs as well.
  3. LAPTOP: DESKTOP I don't really care to upload it since my dual monitor configuration is a bit wonky nor does it really matter since I hardly ever see it anyway, haha.
  4. Missed a few. Toggle Busy is DPad Down; QAM is L3/Left Thumbstick Button.
  5. Because it's a valid configurable setting (refer to manual for more details, somewhere near the vehicle config file explanation)
  6. I run the Steam version of GTA4, and the only issue I have is with GFWL - most of the time, I use the XLiveless ASI loader, which makes GFWL a moot point, anyway. However, if you wish to play multiplayer you WILL need a GFWL/XBL account, a[n] RGSC account, and the CD key.
  7. In addition to the post above, if you are experiencing texture loss, you may wish to turn down texture resolution. Another thing that may help is setting the MipMaps in the config to a higher value. High value = more pixellated it will get as the texture quality is reduced from in-game = less memory usage. Similarly, the lowest value (1) = texture edges will remain sharp as the texture quality is reduced in-game = more memory usage.
  8. The only way to disable that is to downgrade. It's hardcoded in (shame)
  9. You're going to want to append to your command line file the following: -windowed -width <next resolution down from your monitor resolution> -height <next resolution down from your monitor resolution>The reason behind the resolution is otherwise it'll default to 800×600 (or it did in my case) and the reason behind it being a step down is so the whole window is visible - not of the bottom or right is chopped off. Know, however, that the resolution may bug out (i.e. a line of pixels in the game will appear chopped off) - I can post an example fo what I mean by that, and it appears (in my experience) only with text.
  10. Unfortunately you cannot at this point using ELS alone, as there are 6 siren files (Firetruck airhorn, police airhorn, wail, yelp, police piercer, ambulance piercer) but I'm sure there's a mod out there somewhere for it.
  11. Go for a timecyc. ENBs are hilariously more graphically intensive. I'd recommend >RTC v5 if you have EFLC/TLAD. If you're not running EFLC, as in you're running vanilla GTA4, just use the VisualSettings.DAT file in it, don't use the timecyc.dat file. Reminder: Make backups before modifying any file.

  13. Crewmate was playing around with a Buzzard. A stray bullet went through my windscreen and produced this stunning crack.
  14. Alright, thanks! Just wondering because I'd just gotten off a Bugz platform and it felt a bit different.
  15. Hey, question: Which of the 3 CVPI handling lines work best for cruisers running CJ24's DSF CVPI base? One felt like the car's lightbar weighed a tonne, and the one I have right now has a tendency to oversteer when cornering. I'm running >Sameer's CVPI, which states it was optimized for the Police2 handling line[lcpdfr.com] if that helps any. This is the line I'm running right now: POLICE 1777.0 0.33 85 0.0 0.1 -0.33 0.0 4 0.129 10.0 260 0.45 0.6 0.7 33.0 1.55 0.9 14.0 0.11 0.48 3.4 2.0 2.0 0.1 -0.07 -0.01 0.52 2.0 1.0 2.2 1.5 0.0 25000 400010 0 0
  16. Centre headlights? You mean the turn signals?[encrypted.google.com]
  17. I've been wanting to do a Hummer H1 Alpha for a while now but I'm still waiting for permission from the mod author to modify it. Edit: H1, not H1A, my mistake. It's been a good 3 months now. I'm inclined to agree. Broncos are much better looking than Vics in my opinion. Then again, trucks are better than cars in my opinion (if you don't get it, look at my location)
  18. Might I make a suggestion? AllowTakedowns = on UseCoronaTakedowns = onThe corona takedowns work well with this MX7000, though it trails behind a little when you're moving (ELS8 issue)
