Lenny's Mod Loader - Coming Soon

Featured Replies

We will no longer need to have massive copies of already bloated RPFs. No more need to have essentially 2 copies of the same game—3 if you play online. The HDD and SSD companies will try to stop @LMS. :thinking_intensifies:

You are using the WRONG right theme!

I'll note though that you won't need to install anything to patchday folders in the future when using LML. It's possible to install pretty much any mod without touching any RPF files.

  • This is awesome, great work guys ! 👍

How do i donate to this, the hours of modding in scripts and vehicles is why I stopped. If you release this, it will make everything work better. Will this work like CKAN for KSP? If you know what that is.

You can donate via the Patreon!  However, Patreon runs off a subscription plan, meaning you'd be donating a certain amount every month.  I don't believe there is a one time donation option.  I could be wrong though, as I'm not familiar with Patreon's workings.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

Wow, sound really useful! But I don't understand.. With what mods it will work? Will it work cooperating with lspdfr website, or other mods too?

Generally any file mod can work with it, but for a lot of mods the author will have to provide an install.xml file so we know what goes where. Mods hosted on LCPDFR.com will have the advantage that you do not need to download and extract them manually, it will be done automatically for you.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Is there documentation/sample XML files available for mod-makers yet? I have a single-texture mod (the reg plate font one) that I'm looking at polishing up for this (if nothing else, for my benefit for when I inevitably lose my mods again).

Also, does/will it support single-texture replacement, or will I have to replace a whole .YTD?

Single texture replacement is not supported yet, but may be added later.

Yeah, I noticed the tab up top immediately after I made the last edit... It's 01:25 in the morning and I am blind, haha.

Mildly disappointed to hear that single-texture replacement isn't supported, but I suppose I can see the arguments against it (esp. relating to vehicle liveries). Thanks for the response!

The only argument against it is that it's complicated and takes time to develop. It's just a matter of how many features can be implemented before the initial release. If you look on the "Future Development" section of the About page, you'll see that "Support to load individual textures into existing YTD" is mentioned. https://www.lcpdfr.com/lml/index/

Hey, let's hope this comes on Christmas or after Christmas! As always, excellent job guys! Just one question, will this be compatible with mod's downloaded from gta5-mods.com? Thanks.

Will add-on ped's work as well with this mod loader?

If the mod follows our file format requirements, then mods from other websites will also work. However, you will not be able to install them directly from your webbrowser with just one click. And yes, addon peds work great already!

This might just make me get into LSPDFR again! I've always found modding the game incredibly tedious.

I agree. Modding always took me like 2-3 days to do it with my method. Of course, my method was the most tedious and there were other ways, I just like it that way. But this new method does sound like it will make stuff a lot easier in terms of adding mods.

With the new game update causing issues with OpenIV file loader, did any problems pop up in the way of Lenny's methods? I was curious since I assume R* threw some sort of obfuscation in the way of loading modified game files through outside methods.
