viperwolf reacted to Bailey23 in I'm going on a ride-along tomorrow.I may be too late to this thread, but for those who intend to do ride-alongs in the future it is important to speak with the officer at the beginning of the ride along about his/her expectations of you. When I have riders I typically judge who the person is and then let them know what I expect of them. If I think they are mature and can handle what they might see, I typically let those types of people get out of the car and come with me. I usually don't allow my riders to get out of the car on traffic stops, though. I tell all of my riders that if I end up getting into a fight, that means WE got in a fight and you had better be helping me. If anything, it gets them pumped up for the shift
The best way to handle the situation if you'd like to ask them about shooting a suspect or being shot is to simply ask the officer if he/she has been involved in any on-duty deadly force situations and if so what that experience taught the officer. They will either explain and go into detail or not, but it will appear more professional than asking if they have shot somebody.
As for attire, call and ask the agency you are riding with. Some require a business-like image, while others are ok with casual clothing. Some also forbid a rider from wearing clothing associated with law enforcement or appearing to look like an officer, so it is going to depend on where you ride. The policy at my sheriff's office for ride-alongs is that men dress in a business-like outfit (button down shirt and tie with nice pants), but I typically have the rider lose the tie once they get in the car with me.

viperwolf reacted to PNWParksFan in Lets talk LSPDFR vs FiveMFiveM is a large contributor to why you see fewer new vehicles and stuff posted, but it's not because of any inherent superiority of FiveM. It's because server owners will pay big bucks to get exclusive models for their servers. People don't post as much free content as they used to just for the fun and community of it, because anyone who's half-decent at modding has people messaging them all the time asking them to do commissions.
(And before anyone calls me a hypocrite, I've turned down countless offers to make exclusive FiveM content. Not all my stuff has been publicly released yet, but none of it has been sold for private FiveM use.)

viperwolf reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadUpcoming Coastal Callouts release information
With the public announcement of LML, I am now able to share additional details about the upcoming public release of Coastal Callouts. If you are not yet familiar with LML, it is a new mod loader from the LSPDFR dev team which drastically simplifies the installation of gamefile mods like the Coastal DLC. Rather than having to tediously install files to multiple locations and manually edit meta entries, with LML installing the entire Coastal Callouts DLC is as simple as dropping one folder into your game directory, or even using the easy One-Click download service that will be included with LML. Everything from add-on and replacement vehicles to ambient ped and vehicle scenarios can be done from within one package. For more information, see the official LML announcement below:
The LML development team is still working on the new system, including yet-to-be-determined details which will affect how the plugin/callout portion of the mod will be installed. In the meantime, I am focusing on making final adjustments to the DLC, and tuning up several other mods. Better EMS will be updated with some minor changes, and Police Tape will be re-released with new features and a more permissive license.
LML is currently planned for public release sometime in December 2019. I am expecting to release Coastal Callouts shortly thereafter. The exact timeline will depend upon details of the how the eventual public LML release works, and my own schedule for finishing all of the other details left to take care of.
Several talented community members have also been working on various international variations of the Coastal Callouts DLC and configuration files. LML will significantly simplify installing and updating these Coastal International DLC packs. First off, we have the UK Coastal Pack, with textures by @Markey and @swimmingdude2014, and additional vehicles by @BritishGamer88. This is a thorough DLC, with various British boats, aircraft, peds, and buildings:
For players from Spain, @carlolucca and @sergiobas have been working on the Spanish Coastal DLC. This DLC includes textures for several of the main coastal DLC models, as well as a few newly added helicopters and new peds.
The international packs should be released shortly after the main Coastal Callouts release. There are also some files started for an Australian pack, which are currently incomplete. If any Aussie players would like to take on completing those textures, please DM me for further information. Anyone else interested in contributing other international texture packs may also DM me for further information.
Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and patience! Looking forward to ending the decade (!!!) with some exciting releases, and finally getting these mods into everyone's hands to enjoy!

viperwolf reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadThe purpose of donations should be to show appreciation for and support projects and creators whose content you enjoy. The "this is not a purchase" text isn't just legal cover, it's a philosophy. Quite a number of people have very kindly donated just to say, "thanks and keep up the good work". Some of the donations I most appreciate are those from people who give just a few dollars to say thanks, without any expectation of a reward. Of course the perks are there as an incentive and reward for those who do choose to contribute, and I know some people are only really interested in early access. But I mean it when I call it a "donation".
From a practical perspective, I have only ever denied one person access to the beta, and that was due to concerns about their ability to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary functionality in development. I proactively offered to refund that individual when I denied them beta access, and processed the refund immediately upon their request. While the license is there to give me a level of protection from abuse, I have never had any issues with any donors and always strive to keep my supporters happy.

viperwolf reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadAs proof that Coastal Callouts stands strong against threats to modding, enjoy a few screenshots from the continuing development of the 45' Response Boat Medium. I've added working navigation lights, headlights, emergency lights, and have added some of the console equipment but that's not yet finished. SkylineGTRFreak will also be modeling a forward lower passenger compartment sometime soon(ish) as his schedule allows.
Unfortunately it turns out that AI can't drive amphibious class vehicles, which means they're utterly useless for backup or for having a team member drive while you man the gun, so we're having to make some changes. I've converted the boat back into... well, a boat. And will be using a workaround with the Coastal Callouts script to attach a working gun to it. This is a bit of a set back, but we're still making progress. Planning to have an unarmed initial testing version of the boat out to beta testers by the end of the weekend, then I'll be diving into creating a bunch of configuration options to that we can support things like guns on boats, as well as start working on boat AI teams.

viperwolf got a reaction from Hastings in Terror Attack in LondonIm sorry to hear this, it will continue to happen until the liberal brainwashed are removed from govn. Im not sure how the citizens feel in those countries, but i see alot of them complaining on forums. The US was heading in the same direction with Clintons and Obama, hopefully Trump will continue to rip us from the globalist direction. Putin hates globalist-Trump hates globalist: seems a common unity should be formed. Human Rights Organization needs to be torn down and replaced, NATO needs to be replaced, or at lease Cleaned out.
Its easy for people to complain about killing terrorist, until they are the ones being affected.
It seems common sense has left the world.
Ofcourse this is just my opinion on things.

viperwolf reacted to sek510i in Terror Attack in LondonAs a Londoner, I was very impressed by the emergency services' responses. All suspects killed within 8 minutes, and many casualties treated by LAS under difficult circumstances. The UK's police are really struggling to cope with budget cuts at the moment, so their ability to deal with major incidents has been very impressive.
I also think that it's worth singling out the first officer who arrived on scene for particular praise. The first responder was a British Transport Police officer who took on all three attackers using only his baton, which potentially prevented more people being injured.
I just hope that people realise that these attacks aren't just random acts of violence; they're part of a cycle whereby islamophobia increases, people are divided and discriminated against and more people are driven towards extremism. Don't give them what they want by taking it out on innocent people.
In the end, these attacks aren't going to do much good if they're trying to scare Londoners. This city survived the Luftwaffe, the London riots and the IRA. A couple of misguided fools with knives isn't worth spilling your pint over (literally, in one bloke's case).

viperwolf reacted to PNWParksFan in [WIP] CPR: ReloadedThis is possibly the most ironic and hypocritical statement I have ever read on this site. Your big project, LSRD, is hardly a fresh idea... you're methodically copying features from the in-development EmergencyV, not to mention features from Better EMS and other mods. And let's think about some of the other plugins you've ripped off. Siren Mastery... which you copied the idea for and then released "coincidentally" during Albo's release livestream of his original Siren Mastery mod. And Alex's Emergency Strobes plugin, which you also copied. And probably other mods I've forgotten. You, of all people, have absolutely no right to talk about people coming up with "fresh ideas".

viperwolf reacted to Hastings in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadThiiiiis is probably one of the most gameplay-changing mods I've seen so far. Good luck to you and clear head in all your endeavors, this is a formidable and impressive piece of work.
I do love how this forum unites so many talented people from so many places. From coders to artists to modellers, on lcpdfr.com we have the best from all over the world working together.

viperwolf reacted to Kal74 in Coroner Bodybag Glad TrashbagsCurrently in LSPDFR the when you call the Coroner for a dead body, they show up, take some photos, say a couple of kind words :) Then stuff the dead bodies into a Glad Trashbag.
<--------------------------Unrealistic
How difficult would it be to create a model for the Coroner that would use something more realistic like
<--------------------realistic
Heck anything besides a Trashbag would be an improvement in my book.. Perhaps someone has already done this or currently working on this?
