W...what? All due respect but that is ALL that anyone wants to see. I simply do not care about that simple animation, or the clothes that you added, or even the different jurisdictions something like that is great to hear, and actually sounds more like a huge development. You changed how the AI act, a HUGE problem in the game that everyone faces, and everyone hates. If the 0.4 update had a little section about that I would be much more interested in hearing you guys out and seeing how 0.4 played out. Plenty of animations in the game right now are terrible, fixing the stop and frisk animation is not enough to show for 1.5 years of development, I am sorry.

Actually, based on experience, no one seems to care about what goes on behind the scenes, like the pursuit logic. You even imply that you think LSPDFR is too simple and doesn't have enough in your post, but LSPDFR basically rewrites the entire GTA V AI. There is a lot to it that no one notices because it just feels natural in game (which is the point).

Hell, one the first trailers we released for LSPDFR showed a bunch of cops actually pursuing a suspect instead of instantly murdering them like default GTA V, and it was called out for just being done with a trainer. But everything in that trailer was LSPDFR, and you would not have been able to replicate the AI behavior without it.

First of all. Calm down. "Again not trying to call any of you out" was posted at the beginning for a reason, this is not an attack, and this is not false information. Second of all, responding to a report is not the same as something happening. I have reported, plenty of terrible reviews on my mods or other people's mods, or troll mods and half the time, even though it is the wrong thing to do you will just ignore it which, sure is solving this report or whatever you call it but it is not very supportive to modders when they get a one 4 star review out of lets say 50 that says "pls can this b oiv instalton is so confusing!" and it ruins all the reviews making it a 4.5 star average, and nothing happens to the review. Having a troll file or review up for 6 or 12 hours is the same as just not deleting it, 100s of people will see it, it will turn people away from the website or just waste their time by reporting it and arguing about it, and will turn people more importantly away from mods that have 4.5 stars etc.

Anyway I know that paragraph was confusing and I did bounce around a bit but I am 2 hours into a 5 hour ACT study session and not enjoying it so im a bit tired.

And to address the "we have lives of our own" that sure is true, and I understand, you just need to see how frustrating that is for someone who spends days, weeks, and months making content for a mod that has an inactive staff team, just for it to get berated by false reviews that stay up regardless of if they go against the rules. (To be fair though some are taken down, which I appreciate)

ANYWAY to finish this up, if this point really angers you that much just ignore it and all my other points will stand.

We aren't inactive simply because it's not done in a timely manner.  Further, adding "not trying to call any of you out" while saying "staff are inactive/unsupportive" and that "90% of the staff team haven't been seen" does not make it less of an attack.  You are literally saying these things, stop backpeddling.  We take down all terrible reviews or abusive 1 star reviews.  Your anger is stemming from a 1star review months or so ago that you asked me to remove, and I said it was fine.  You're upset at us because we won't remove a review that you simply do not like?  Again, we remove all the negative reviews we see or ones that actually do violate our guidelines.  I'm sorry that you think some 1 star reviews on your files shouldn't be there, but that doesn't mean you're right and we're wrong.  We review each case and handle it as we deem fit.

In this context, yes it is.  We look at all reports and the individual decides if the reported content is worth handling.  We don't just go "yes" and "no", we investigate, and if needed, get a second opinion.

And AGAIN I know I may seem hostile, I truly do not want to argue with you guys, like I said I respect you all and appreciate all the work you guys do.

Well, we will of course showcase some of the new AI developments but we're not going to lump that into a post about the new customization options.  With 0.3, we posted a series of previews focusing on different areas and with 0.4 it's much the same.  We've simply not gotten to those parts yet.

Regarding some of your other points, I'm aware that there's issues with toxicity and staff.  For the former - this is really something that's in your hands.  Be the change that you want to see.  As for us, we've tried for a long, long time to make the community friendlier and more accessible.  It's pretty much what gave birth to our website.  Before LCPDFR, you had GTAPoliceMods.com where you could be banned for being from a "foreign" country, or for posting a mod that an admin didn't like.  I think we've come a long way.

About staff, I admit that there's a couple of problems, but let me just say that we've had a number of incredibly dedicated staff members over the years, and there's people who have literally given large chunks of their lives to this community.  Our team have gone above and beyond on so many different occasions - whether it's being disturbed on Christmas to deal with trolls filling up the site with porn, or persevering through death threats and constant, daily doses of personal abuse.  On the whole, when you actually look at the sheer volume of work - they do handle an incredible amount of stuff.

But honestly, t0y, I understand the general sentiment behind your post and we'd be sad to see you leave.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

This has now turned into an argument if I must butt in here. It would save everyone the time to stop arguing about what staff does and doesn't do, what happens and doesn't with lspdfr. To clear things up with lspdfr post about it and give some more updates to be honest. People won't lose hope in it and think there is nothing going on, little has been done over the past year and half or so, etc.

Everyone will have their opinion of staff, lspdfr, mods, gta as a whole, etc. Just accept it. You guys are gonna sit here going back and forth for hours if you keep up. Best to let it go, or lock the post.

:/

And bye t0y. It was fun while it lasted :teehee:

Hope to see you again IF the community improves, etc

Sad to see you go, you've done a lot for the community, what's next for you? are you leaving your models up or deleting them like other creators that left? and are you going to be forwarding your undone projects to your friends or scrapping them? or maybe just dump in on us like the little model slut we are? (Sorry, not trying to be rude, these are just logistical questions)

No comment on all the allegations and whatnot, but just want to add another voice saying yes, we'd very much like to hear about the AI improvements. Get technical! Sure, not everybody cares about the details (just like not everybody cares about new character integration), but some of us really do. And, showing a bit of the technical complexity behind the new developments might actually give the average user a better appreciation for all the effort that goes into the mod.

LSPDFR's AI is definitely much better than default GTA V AI. It's also got a whole lot of shortcomings. Shortcomings which take time to address - I don't think 1.5 years is actually that long for a hobby project involving this level of complexity for the AI stuff. But it is a long time for the community to be waiting without any information, and it's a very long time for developers in the community to be waiting with no API updates for issues that were reported literally years ago. More communication about the progress of LSPDFR development would definitely help keep people invested in the mod and the community. Take your time, but keep us in the loop, ya know?

Sure, it's not like we weren't going to talk about the changes to pursuits or whatever though.  At the same time, if we started off by showcasing some of the changes there we'd probably get flak for only making improvements, and not adding anything 'new'.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

I actually remember seeing you post here a lot on the website, I even downloaded some of your work. That said, it will be sad to see you go. I agree with most of what you said, and you probably said what a lot of the members had on their minds.

Why not show off both? And if I may suggest, I think it would be greatly beneficial for lspdfr and the community if one of the staff members posted little posts updating everyone on the development of lspdfr.

We had some interesting interactions, with which I will not get into, but it was interesting to see how you did with your modeling over time. Goodbye and best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

As for everything else that this topic has seemed to turn towards, there will be plenty of issues in life that we will all encounter. Things that inconvenience us, things we don't like, or things that simply do not go our way. Our world is changing every second and, unfortunately, no one can always control the outcome of some things nor ensure that it is fair in every person's eyes. Judgment should be based on our ethics and our previous decisions, as I hope to see from the community staff here. Updates, changes, releases, what have you, will come when those in charge of it believe it is ready to occur. It's as simple as that, especially in a hobby-founded modding scene. People will be toxic, move on from it. People will steal, hate, accuse, and everything else under the sun. Move on from it. Things will go wrong and the outcome may be the opposite of what you want. Move on from it. If you haven't gotten the point yet, all you can do is move on. Whether that is moving on by simply ignoring, forgetting your concern over a disagreement, or moving on from the community. In this case, you chose the latter.

The current mods available for stopping and frisking use animations that bend your player character over halfway into the suspect and then make them feel around the air.  We included this in the first announcement for 0.4 as it was something pretty different, and visual, that people would instantly notice - and they did.

Have you tried this mod out? I don't think there can be a better pat down animation accomplished.

Goodbye T0y. Cya around buddy. Thank you for all your work, sorry for the toxic people that exist.

I see some valid points. The repetition can get boring, but that will change in the release of LSPDFR 0.4. As for the staff team, people can always find fault somewhere, but they try their best. Its sad to see you go, and I think the whole community will agree, we are gonna miss you.

Bye t0y. Hope to see you return soon.
