What was that part about the police officer being run over in 2001? Reenacting Need for Speed? That's a load of bull, there's NEVER been pedestrians, yet alone police officers, that you can run over i

  • Holy crap what a joke of a report... The funny thing is I reckon most of the people who play LSPDFR are some of the more pro-police individuals who are probably more sympathetic to the troubles office

Do they even research topics anymore? They couldn't have gotten this more wrong.

That IMO is the worst aspect of this. It's not that they didnt do research, they would've spent a decent amount of time trawling videos to find the perfect 2-5 second snippets that "highlight the evil game" to push their entirely fabricated agenda. It doesn't get more "fake news" than that.

They also seem so oblivious to the player being the officer and even examples of nonlethal force in their "proof", and when things get out of hand in their "proof" it is completely out of the player's control and unpreventable, and is in the stock game, (such as pistol-whipping nearby peds) and proceed to blame it on the mod.

Here's the response I got from the Kotaku article author. Hopefully he goes ahead with his follow-up!

FYI he posted a couple pages back too, or at least I assume it's the same guy. So he's here, in this thread.

Ah didn't even see that lol

As a content creator of Australian mods for some 5-6 years now, I have yet to be contacted by ANY law enforcement or government agency or media for that matter so I'm glad some news outlets are coming to our defense.

At least I can say I was on the news

So it seems like they didn't even ask for permission to use the clips shown. There's got to be a valid complaint to be filed with some media watchdog somewhere, or even IP claims, especially since they misrepresented the videos.

Come and get me.

I mean, you do deserve a trip to a CIA black site for some hydotherapy for that, at least.

That's normal. The news here steal clips without even asking all the time.
